There's very few main characters to follow so that's
an instant good thing. And the main characters are Lina, a cute little
sorceress, Gourry, a vain blond mercenary swordsman, the mysterious Zelgadis,
and the great sage Rezo. Magical artifacts are treasures desired
by all, including evil sorcerers in this ancient place. On Lina's
adventure to
Atlas City, she encounters the legendary "Statue of Orihalcon," while being followed by the blind sorcerer Rezo. On her trip Lina must find out why both Zelgadis and Rezo are interested in her, and while at it, find out what's the secret power the statue possesses. And of course she'll have plenty of time to fill her pockets on the way. And now, there's just one major problem with all of this...a demon lord is being ressurected! ...The fate of the world on Lina's hands (as usual) as she faces everything from easily spooked dragons to maniacal berserks in her quest for treasure. But what's this sword of light all about??? To find out more...I'd watch it if I were you...because I recomend this anime to anyone who likes humor. And not only is it funny, but on a scale from 1 to 5 I'd give it a 5 for it's good storyline, characters, and plots. |
Seems alittle too much like a cartoony series, but give it a sec. Okay, that's enough. Did you miss it? Hope not, because you're missing one of the best series to come out of Japan for quite a bit. It all seems to center around the frizzy, and outstandingly arrogant girl sorceress, Lina Inverse, but there really is very little center. She's basically a mercenary, doing odd jobs that can use her magic just for some money and alot of food. She meets up with Gourry, a clueless swordsman, who ends up falsely saving her. Together, they tag around as they find they are the center of a plot to rebirth one piece of the dark lord, Shabranigdo. With both the red priest, Rezo, and the chimera (part human, part golem) Zelgadis, these two must find a way to keep themselves alive and have a chance to stuff their faces for another day. The search is on for the Philosophers Stone, which will bring back the dark lord, and the antics that take place to find it are just absolutely outrageous. The animation quality is also top notch, each magic spell taking your breath away, each battle getting better and better. You see the score behind me, so stop sitting there. Find 'The Slayers' and watch. |
