It's so much easier when I don't have to do the
work (though I was trying to, don't get me wrong here). What I am
referring to is getting info on the new Dragonball
Z episodes that are in the works. Everybody knows that the
new episodes are to be released on tape first this summer, and to be followed
up by airing on the Cartoon Network in the fall. But what does that
actually entail? Well, thanks to SkitzZero, there is some news of
what is coming. Here's alittle taste of what's going on:
Number of episodes in the process of being translated: 50
Episodes will be released uncut on video
Cartoon Network is to do less editing of the series when it airs in the fall
There is plenty more info where that came from. Skitz has set up a site, Dragonball Z: The Third Season, dedicated to giving you all the possible information on the new season of DBZ, so please, go and check it out. It's nicely done, and it'll be your place to set up shop while waiting for the new episodes to be finished up.

Alright, Reboot has
come at last. Love it or hate it, it is here. One of the things
I think important to mention about Reboot is the number of episodes that
were made. A total of 39 episodes are scheduled to air, and that
covers all three seasons. This is a very low number, lower than even
Dragonball Z and the granddaddy of repeats, Jonny Quest. However,
it is believed that the third season of Reboot wasn't the last. According
to the makers of Reboot, Mainframe Inc.,
it is not outside the realm of possibility for a fourth season of the series
to be worked on. Even though they haven't come out and said it, this
run on the Toonami block will play a major part in reaching that decision.
Enough support might just make a fourth season come to life. But
that's still a bit down the road. Just enjoy Reboot for now.

There are just so many times I need to thank Jeff
Harris, the creator of CN2: Toonami, for his knack for news. If none
of you have been to Cartoon Network.com lately, like myself, then you probably
missed it. CN.com has finally opened their own official Toonami site.
Granted, it is small, but so was 'The Unofficial' when it first started
out in October '98. Give it some time. For now, you can go
there and get some info on the Toonami: Alternate Universe idea promotion
that they have going on. Also, you can learn some about the hero
of Dragonball Z, Goku, as well as brush up with some info on three of the
Sailor Scouts - Sailor's Moon, Mars, and Mercury. Just give they
guys over there some time to develop their idea. Of course, I would
be more than glad to help them out in any way I can ^_^

Alright, I'm trying to dig up as much info for
you guys on the new Dragonball Z episodes
as I can. For the moment, there are only vague details out there
on what we are all gonna get. Let's start out first by Funimations'
statement they made. The new episodes 'will encompass all of Goku's
awesome battle with the powerful Frieza.' It's been difficult find
the right info to back this up, but in the Japanese episodes, the Frieza
saga continued up to about episode 107. Since we have only seen 53
episodes translated, by following common logic, that would most likely
mean that 54 episodes are being worked on now. That does seem alittle
outrageous, so don't be too surprised if the number turns out to be smaller.
The question of content has also been an issue. Funimation has made clear their plans that the new episodes of DBZ will be released first on video this summer. Cartoon Network is then expected to pick up those episodes for show in the fall. It has been rumored that the videos will have little editing and the only real editing will come by whoever purchases the rights to show the episodes. For now, until some type of official word has been made, that's all this is, just rumor. I'm working on trying to get some straight answers from Funimation on what's going on with DBZ, so stay tuned for any further news.

Cartoon
Network.com has announced one of it's newest promotions, and it once
again concerns Toonami. This time, however, the two hour block is
the main focus. Toonami: Alternate Universe
is a promotion to introduce the upcoming premeir of the Toonami comic book.
The focus of 'Alternate Universe' is exactly what the title suggests.
Fans are to imagine and draw a different way any of the Tooanmi shows could
have ended up, such as:
Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts were actually
the enemy...
The Thundercats were actually dogs...
Goku was the Sayian to arrive on Earth and Vegeta
was it's hero...
If you have an idea, a piece of paper, and something to draw with, then send your pictures to:
Toonami Alternate Universe
C/O Cartoon Network Online
1010 Techwood Drive
Atlanta, GA 30318
The best drawing will then be picked and displayed on Cartoon Network.com and in the premier issue of Toonami's comic book. And remember, all entries will become property of Cartoon Network, so you won't likely see you work again unless yours is chosen. Visit Cartoon Network.com for more detailed information

Toonami: The Unoffical has expanded yet again,
and this time, it's become a club... well, sorta. Thanks to Yahoo!Clubs,
the Toonami Realm
has been opened. Inside, you will find a new message board and a
chat room. You can add links to your own homepage, contribute to
a photo album, or plan an event using the calendar. Of course, since
Toonami Realm is a club, that means you must become a member. It
takes only about 5 minutes and once you are part of Yahoo!Clubs, you can
join any other club that you want. So take the time, express your
opinions, and get the chance to chat with other Toonami fans across the
country. I think you'll like it.

First, I've gotta thank Holy
Slash and bhdbgt for emailing me this
info which, most likely, I would never had gotten to. This forwarded
letter will, of course, speak for itself
From: feedback@funimation.net (New Dragonball
Z Episodes!)

In
any other circumstance, I would not be reporting this, but for obvious
reasons, I am going ahead with this. Some noticed that there have
been commercials circulating on Kids! WB that
Pokemon
is coming. This is absolutely true. Reported by the Anime
News Network, thanks to the Hollywood Reporter
and Daily Variety, Kids! WB will end Pokemon's
syndication on other stations in two weeks time, adding it to some of their
already potent programs. 12 new episodes have been purchased for
this Fall '99 debut, bringing the total number of episodes to be shown
to 52. Because Kids! WB is, in the longrun, a part of Time Warner
property, it is possible to someday see Pokemon on Cartoon Network and
maybe even Toonami. This move was highly unexpected as Pokemon has
proved since it's debut in September '98 to be an exceptional piece of
programming, bringing high ratings to most of it's playing stations.
So watch for Ash and Pikachu to continue their adventures in 2 weeks time
on the Kids! WB.
