Okay, Dragaonball Z is really starting to go nuts, isn't it.  In the first week of November, DBZ started over from episode #1 and at this point, we are seeing the Namek part of the series all over again.  No official word has been made from Cartoon Network, from either their front office or their viewers hotline.  There are two possible reasons for this occurance.  One, it might just be a programming error by the guys at CN.  This second thought is less likely, but still possible.  We might be seeing the new episodes sooner than expected.  CN reported that the new episodes of DBZ would air in January, but it is possible that viewer responce was so overwhelming that they have decided to show the new episodes early.  I'll continue to try and dig up new info as it comes available.

I got a pretty good responce from the first two game reviews I did her, so I think I'm gonna do two more for all of ya.  This week, I'm going to plug the cult hit Pokemon and then Crash 3: Warped

Pokemon by Nintendo/Creatures Inc./ Game Freak for Gameboy
How many of you have heard of Beanie Babies?  Well, think of this as Beanie Babies that can fight, evolve, and be trained.  Pokemon is a RPG that follows your exploits in your quest to become a Pokemon Master.  The Pokemon are these incredible little creatures that can be captured, traded, trained, and evolved.  Of course there is a story to follow, but with all the different Pokemon you can get, you can concentrait on raising your Pokemon before even starting the story.  And despite the fact this is for the four colored Gameboy, you can still be pulled into the looks.  That, plus the fresh concept behind the game makes this a new franchise for the Nintendo kids. My rating gets a four and a half out of five

Crash 3: Warped by Naughty Dog for Playstation
The first franchise for the Playstation turns three with this game, and has a whole new sac of tricks.  Crash, ever since his first adventures against Dr. Neo Cortex, has been built as an adventure with beautiful 3D graphics, but now, Crash truley goes 3D with fully interactive worlds.  You have that, plus new friends to help you along the way as you help Crash defeat Dr. Cortex yet again.  This game will help set a new standard for PS games in the future, maybe even for the rumored Playstation2.  My rating for Crash 3 pulls out a decent 4 out of 5

First, I am going to thank Charlie Furlong for this, cause he found this out.  A quick call to the Cartoon Network has clarified a bit of a recent issue.  The official statement, if you can call it that, from Cartoon Network is that they expect to premeir the new episodes of Dragaonball Z sometime in January.  The exact date is not known as of yet, but it will be announced within the next few weeks.  So this much is clear:  There are new episodes ready and everything points to their premier in January.  So enjoy the series again and get the popcorn ready for the big day to come.

'Tis almost the season and there is plenty to be good for.  With all the great games coming out, I can't resist putting in my own two cents.  I do Sega Saturn Reviews on Toonami.  I guess I'll do N64 and Playstation here.  What I'm looking at:  Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete.

Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64 - Are you kidding me?  Is a game supposed to look this good?  Is it supposed to be this real?  That's what the guys at Nintendo say, and they're ready to bring out their big gun.  The Legend of Zelda series has been one of the heaviest hitters for Nintendo since game 1 in 1986.  Now Link is ready to save Hyrule again, this time in beautifully enriched 3D worlds.  Stop the evil Ganon from taking over, find the Triforce, save the Princess.  Just a word of caution: Eat something before playing.  You're going to be playing this for a while.  Available November 25th.  My Rating - a solid 5 out of 5

Lunar: The Silver Star Story Complete for Playstation - That's right.  Saturn fans already recognize this title.  Now the popular RPG makes its move to the Playstation.  This game can sell on reputation alone.  Lunar gets a facelift in it's graphics and has almost 45 minutes of anime spanning over 2 CD's.  Not only that, but the distibutor, Working Designs(TM) has made a special package for this.  Altogether, it'll set you back almost $80, but you get the game, a collectable artbook/instuction manual about 100 pages long, a cloth map, a 'making of' CD, and a Lunar soundtrack CD.  Not bad.  Just that alone gives it a good rating, but the game itself takes care of that.  Available end of November.  My Rating - a hearty and healthy 5 out of 5

Alright, I know I've mentioned this alot and it's that reason I'm leaving this as last.  If you've been on another planet lately, listen up.  "Not too long ago, there was this little school girl who became a warrior.  On behalf of the moon, she faced off against the ultimate evil... and left us hangin'.  Now Toonami brings you the rest of her story.  17 episodes never before seen on these shores.  Sailor Moon: The Lost Episodes.  A Toonami exclusive premier, starting November 30th.  Who loves 'ya."

Alright.  Some of you may know already know that Sailor Moon is one of my personal faves.  However,  I found some news there that might be of some interest to Dragonball Z fans as well.

On the "Save our Sailors Headquarters" site, there is an article set up that looks at the glory that is DBZ.
http://dau.physics.sunysb.edu/~ming/sos/db.html
What was mentioned in there was the number of epiosdes that Cartoon Network possibly picked up.  Here's the situation:

Cartoon Network picked up the first and second seasons of DBZ, which is the first 56 episodes.  They do have the option to pick up 26 more episodes from the third season, if they choose to excersise that option.

The question now is why did Cartoon Network no air all 56 episodes, cause as many of you know, they stopped at episode 53.  I heard an interestng theory on why they might have done this.  The middle of November is a period of TV known as the 'sweeps.'  This is when stations put on their best programming to get advertisers attention.  This all equals more money.  Now, I've heard there is another sweeps period in February (I think).  Cartoon Network might be saving the new episodes for that period, since this month they are premiering the new 17 episodes of Sailor Moon.  This is just a theory, though, but it does sound reasonable.

I, the Blkcloak, am making an apology to all you Dragonball Z fans out there.  When I sat down for the 11.12.98 DBZ episode, I was expecting Goku to start taking care of buisness against the last two members of the Ginu Force.  Instead, I saw Raditz arriving on Earth.

As many loyal Toonami: The Unofficial fans know, a bit ago I got a letter from Cartoon Network.com saying that they had epiosdes 1 thru 60 of Dragonball Z.  Judging from yesterday, that was far from the case.

I knew the moment I saw episode 1 come on that my mailbox would get bombed with angry fan emails... and I was right.  So listen up everyone.  This is Cartoon Network.com's email address:
toonnet@aol.com
Someone is gonna catch alot of grief for this mistake.  Again, I'm sorry about the false expectations that were built up.  Believe me, I was just as surprised as everyone across the country.

Alright all you Dragonball Z fans out there.  I've got some news for ya.  Got in touch with the Cartoon Network.  What they say is that they only have episodes 1 thru 60 of the Dragonball Z series.  No word was given on whether or not they will be making an effort to get more episodes once they have been dubbed, but I think it would be a good bet to think they will since they have done the same with Sailor Moon.  So stick around and see what happens.

Alright, back to some news.  First of all, it's November.  Cartoon Network has two big premiers coming up.  One is part of the lovely block of Toonami.  No, it's not a new show ( unfortunately ), but it is still a premier here in North America.  I'm, of course, talking about Sailor Moon.  I reported this some time ago, but I'll say it again.  On November 30, 17 new episodes of Sailor Moon will be shown.  These episodes conclude the "Dark Moon" saga of the 'Sailor Moon Romance' series.  Some of you were lucky enough to get a television station that showed those new 17 episodes.  For those of you who weren't as lucky, mark down November 30th.  Cause that will be the national premier of the new episodes of Sailor Moon.

Just don't call 'em crybabiesOkay, okay.  This might not be really great news, but I'm personally interested in this.  If you've been watching any Cartoon Network the last month, then you know of the premier of this show on November 18th.  Still no clue?  It's the 'Powerpuff Girls.'  For those of you too young to remember, the Powerpuff Girls actually were on Cartoon Network some time ago.  Are you all familiar with a program called "'What a Cartoon' Show?"  These little heroines first appeared here (Dexter's Laboratory and Jonny Bravo also started out here).  In fact, Space Ghost and I did alittle contest for the best new cartoon from that show, and the Powerpuff Girls were handsdown winners.  Let me summarize how the show goes... It's just plain bizarre.  And that's a good thing.  So sit back for the premier on November 18th at 8pm ET.  I don't think these girls will disappoint.
