I finally did it. You didn't think I ever
would, but I did. That'll learn ya. Of course, I'm talking
about my new message board. Now you don't have to email me all the
time, plus you get to speak with other Toonami fans all across the nation.
I, of course, will put up the first message, welcoming you all to the board.
I'll also be putting up a help wanted of sorts for reviewing anime and
manga. Speaking of which, I've put the beginnings of Toonami's review
page onto its own section.

My newest feature is beinning to take shape.
As I have said before, I don't want the Unofficial to focus only on what
is offered from 4 to 6 every weekday. I want to open more people
to the worlds of anime and manga. So, like many sites before mine
has done, I am building a anime/manga review section. Let me give
you a small taste of what it is I'm working on. This is a demo of
what reviews will lool like. This demo is based on " Battle Angel
Alita." Click the link to see what goes into the review.

Unfortunately, this is not news on responces I've
gotten from the Cartoon Network, but they are newsworth. Two e-mails
I just got asked two very important questions. First, inquireing
minds want to know: Who does the inro music for Toonami. You
know it. It's that techno/electric music that's placed before Toonami
starts and also to introduce the shows. I can't believe I never thought
about find that out. That's one of my favorite part to the whole
Toonami concept.
The second question involved DragonballZ.
As of October 12th, the "Freeza" series of DBZ was ready to get underway.
Just to let everyone know, the episodes we're seeing of Dragonball Z were
dubbed for North America in 1996 and 1997. So the question I was
asked was about new episode. It seems that North America didn't get
the episodes that conclude the "Freeza" part of the series. To both
these questions, I have made an attempt at emailing Cartoon Network, using
their feedback option at their site. My other email attempt at a
rumored address failed. So if anybody knows the email address to
Cartoon Network, let me know. I'm also writting to see if I can get
a respone through snail mail. If anything develops, I'll let everyone
know.

From "The
Rhelm" and written by Jeff Harris
If Cartoon Network doesn't want to form an all-action
animation station, how about letting
Fox
and their allies (Saban, Marvel, Paramount, Sony, and others) start up
one called:
What is CN2: Toonami (Fox Plosion!)?
Right now, it's just a dream that the Inner
Circle (Skullmonkey, Blkcloak, myself, and countless
others) have. However,
many of you might agree with its ideals. CN2: Toonami (Fox Plosion!)
combines the attitude of the popular Toonami
afternoon lineup currently airing on Cartoon Network
along with the finest action cartoons from
the Claster, Saban, and Time-Warner library (along with
some independantly syndicated shows)
and the best library of classic action shows like GI Joe,
Dungeons and Dragons, MASK, and Transformers,
modern shows like Calamity Jane, Beast Wars,
and Batman: Gotham Knights, classic
anime like 8th Man, Astro Boy, Gigantor, and Speed Racer
along with modern classics like Ramna 1/2,
Slayers, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo, and
Voltron. Not to mention movies and series
not yet seen on American television like Akira, Ghost In
The Shell, Macross, and others.
CN2: Toonami (Fox Plosion!) wouldn't just
include kid-oriented programming. It would also feature
movies and series for older, more mature
audiences. Shows like Todd McFarlane's Spawn and Aeon
Flux would run rampant here every night.
In fact, CN2 would be more like an animation equivilant to
TNT than Cartoon Network by also producing
made-for-tv series and movies. In fact, this will be the
first network to fully use the television
ratings system to its fullest (I mean, somebody has to, right?)
with ratings from TV-Y to TV-MA SLV. CN2 would
be the only place to see many of the shows we want
and more.

If you haven't seen the news the other times I
talked about it above, I am then proud to announce the opening of my Articles
section. The first editorial is "The State of Anime in North America,"
which looks at the how anime is doing and surviving over here. Go
to the image map above and read it over. And it is open to responce
from Toonami visitors, so please, don't be shy.

This really isn't news, but I was thinking about
something after 10-05's epiosde of "Superfriends." Is something big
brewing on the horizon. I think I read back at the Rhelm that Cartoon
Network bought the rights for the computer-generated show, "Reboot."
Is it possible that might be moving into Toonami? Think about it.
Before Dragonball Z aired, Toonami ran on a double "Real Adventures" schedule.
I'm not sure what they did before Sailor Moon, but I think it was the same
lineup as shown on Saturday's. I'll bet that by months end, Superfriends
will be gone and the next member will be joining in. Anybody hears
anything on this, let me know. I'll do my own part to bug Cartoon
Network to find out, but don't hold your breath for a response.

Well, the day is quickly coming, when Thundercats
will leave the weekday lineup and Superfriends will take it's place.
I'm not going to personally take care of a site for these guys, since I
try to run Sailor Moon's and Dragonball Z's. If I can find something
out there to link up to, I let all you guys know. Now if you don't
know what Superfriends is all about, allow me to give you a quick overview:
Earth, at one time, only needed one group of superheroes. People like Batman and Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman teamed together to fight the forces of evil. Doing this only made the bad guys madder, so they banded together as well. So now the Superfriends must protect the world from the Legion of Doom

1) MiXX 'zine is creating a spinoff magazine that goes by the name of "Smile." This is geared towards the present day digital teenage girl.
2) With the creation of Smile, the manga "Sailor Moon" will be moving from MiXX to Smile. This has been the #1 item causing the uproar.
3) Before Sailor Moon goes to Smile, she will get her own 48-page publications, which should finish what MiXX started and lead up to either the Sailor S or SuperS series in Smile. MiXX will also continue to publish the "Pocket Manga" compelations of Sailor Moon.
4) Hackers sabotaged some of the MiXX USA site, so try to be patient while the problem is being worked on.
Now, I've got my own position on these issues,
believing that Sailor Moon should stay in MiXX and not be moved to Smile.
However, some of the comments MiXX gives for these moves seem justified.
Check out the 'Mixx Mixxer' at
MiXX Online.

Alright, so it is official. Toonami will
go through it's next scheduel routine. The new addition will be the
"Superfriends." However, what is odd, unusual, _______(fill in the
blank), these new episodes are from the 80's. These 'new' episodes
have never been shown before on the Cartoon Network. Now, I'm only
speaking for myself here and this is not meant to discourage any of you
from going ahead and watching, but, the Superfriends!? I could barely
stand watching it any other time and now it's part of Toonami? I
have this feeling, however, that there will be justification to why the
Superfriends, so we'll just have to see what happens in the coming month.
