Zel's MOK13 FAQ

Q: What the program does?
A: The program is a simple encoder/decoder for MOK13.

Q: How it works?
A: Let's proceed step by step:

  • To transform a text in MOK13 write or copy it in the Input text-box, preess the button "Text to MOK13" and in the Output text-box you will obtain the text coded in MOK13.

  • To decode a text written in MOK13 write or copy it in the Input text-box, preess the button "MOK13 to Text" and in the Output text-box you will obtain the decoded text.

  • To clear the contents of the text-boxes press the "Clear" button.

Q: And if the program say that it need some DLL?
A: The program was written with MS Visual Basic 4.0 so it's possible that if in your system wasn't yet insatlled program that uses these DDL the program may not work. These DLL should be avaible on the web, but I don't know were. ^^;;;
(In the case that it's reported an erroro saying that the file vb40032.dll is missing you must download vb40032.zip (381 kb) and unzip in in your Windows\System directory)

Q: Ok, but what's MOK13?
A: MOK13 is a coding system which transform each letter in a "p" followed by as many "u" as it's alphabetic value. If the letter is upcase all the "PUU" become upcase. Spaces and non-alphabetic characters remain untouched.

Q: I didn't understand, could you give me an example?
A: Letters are coded using the following scheme:

  • a = pu
  • b = puu
  • c = puuu
  • d = puuuu
  • e = puuuuu
  • and so ...

For example "Ciao" become "PUUUpuuuuuuuuupupuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu", or "Aniba" become "PUpuuuuuuuuuuuuuupuuuuuuuuupuupu".

Q: But it's horrible! It isn't optimized and for writing a phrase are needed a lot of row full of "pu"! :(
A: Thank You, but we never thinked to do something optimized; and in this way it's more maligggno. ^__^

Q: Maligno (malignant in italian)?
A: No, MALIGGGNO (strictly whit 3 g ^_^); He is Mokona (from Magic Knight Rayearth), he who we adore (this coding is dedicated to him); in fact it want to resemble to Mokona's speech.

Q: Where can I use this coding?
A: Teoretically anywere you want ; pratically, if you wanna find someone that answer you, in the newsgroup IAC (alias it.arti.cartoni (it's required a bit of italian knowledge)) where you can also find the creators of MOK13.

Q: And who are these fools? Q: And who are these fools?
A: The program was written by Francesco "Zel" Chiossi with the precious help of Druzya The Drow.
