Mark Jackson
( New York Knicks)
Among all the guards in NBA, I believe Mark Jackson is the best "classic" point guard. He is good at assist. In many matches, he had many fantastic no-look pass. In 1996-97 NBA regular season game, Mark Jackson was the league leader of assists ( 11.4 assists per game )

In 1987, he was picked up by New York Knicks in NBA draft. In his first year in NBA, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year and a member of NBA All-Rookie Team. After five years in New York, he was traded to LA Clippers. In 1994, he was traded to Indiana Pacers ( his present team ). In 1996 - 97 regular season, he was traded to Denver Nuggets. Due to the poor preformance of Pacers, Jackson was back to Pacers around Feb. In that year, he was the assist leader in the regular season.

This year, he also had good preformance in the team. In Game 5 against the Knicks, he got triple-double ( 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists ) and he is the first players to get triple-double in Pacers' history. He also passed Maurice Cheeks into 5th place on the NBA all-time career assists list after the match against Washington Wizards on 19th Mar, 98.

In Indiana Pacers, Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin, Rik Smits are the scorers in the team. The role in Jackson in the team is to pass the balls to this three scorers for them to get the points easily. In many matches, he pass some great assits and these assists sounds great. In game 2 of the semifinal 98' ( against New York Knicks ), he pass the critical assists to Miller and Miller got the 3 points in the end of the regular time and win the Knicks in the over-time. Maybe he is not a great shooter like Tim Haraday ( Miami Heat ), his great assists help the team to win the game.

On 25th Dec 99 ( Pacers vs Pistons ), Mark Jackson became the fifth player in NBA history with 8,000 assists. The other four players are John Stockton, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson and Isiah Thomas.

In 2000, Mark Jackon left Indiana Pacers and joined Toronto Raptors. The Raptors have a real point guard to control the game. Jackson help Raptors' key scorer, Vince Carter, and other players to score more easily. Also, Raptors has a floor manager to control and game and the tempo of the team. This will be a force in the Center division and in the Eastern Conference.

Mark Jackson was traded to New York Knicks for Chris Childs on Feb 22. After the trading, the preformance of Mark Jackson is so satisfactory. I wish he can play better in the later matches.
