SLAM DUNK
From the title, you know it's about basketball. Slam Dunk is a Japanese comics (i.e. manga) which talks about the major character Hanamichi (the red head guy) has been rejected by 50 gal students in his junior school life. When he entered Shohoku high school, he was addicted to Haruko who is the younger sister of Basketball Club's caption -- Takenori Akagi. At first Hanamichi wasn't interested in basketball, but after Haruko asked "Do you like basketball?" Then he paid attention on it.
Later, Miyagi and Mitsui come back to this team. All five members then join together and fight to strong teams like Ryonan, Shoyo and Kainan in Kanagawa. Finally they get the qualification to play basketball games.
