The Vision of Escaflowne

The Vision of Escaflowne is a WONDERFUL series. It might just even beet Fushigi Yuugi. Some hypocrite I am, with my Fushigi Yuugi shrine. ANyway, Escaflowne is your typical Shoujo anime in which a girl gets transported into another world and she gets some type of magic power, a bunch of bishounen are running around,... You know. But Escaflowne has a beautifully rich plot line, top class animation, and one, of if not THE BEST, musical score I've ever heard. The Orchestration is rich and colorful, and a cool chanting theme is heard in a lot of the songs. The price is a little more than some other videos (about $30), but all subs are that expensive. It's well worth the price. I'm keeping spoilers down on this page, so there's gonna be really superficial bio's and only a few pics.

Hitomi Kanzaki

The heroine in The Vision of Escaflowne. Hitomi is your normal high school girl. She runs on the school track team and has a crush on the team captain, Amano. Her best friend is also the team manager. Hitomi does specialize in Tarot Card readings and reads the fortunes for many of her friends. Her Grandmother gave her a physic defying pendant that always swings 1 second per arc.

Van Fanel

The Heir prince to the Kingdom of Fanelia on the world of Gaea. Van is a hotheaded little cutey that doesn't have a clue on how to deal with girls from the Mystic Moon. The Guymelef Escaflowne belongs to the King of Fanelia, him in this case. His father, King Goau, died when he was very young. His mother, Varie, disappeared into the woods shortly after and is presumed dead. Van's older brother is assumed to have died killing the dragon or to have run away. I should stop there.

Allen Schezar

I actually don't like this guy to much. Allen's the duke of something or other. He loved this girl named Marlene. his mother died when he was young too. Uh, and his sister was spirited away right before that. His Guymelef is called Schezarado. NO imagination. Oh, and his ship is called Crusade.

Folken

The Strategos of the Zaibach Empire. I'm not going any more indepth than that.

Emporer Dornkirk

The Emporer of Zaibach. I think he looks like some old Hippie grandfather. That's the only reason I included him. Oh, he does have this cool thing called the Destiny Precognition Machine. I want one.

Lord Dilandau

This guy is cool!! Dilandau works with Folken and plans and leads all the attacks. He's a narcissist (yeah!!) and is always obsessing about either his face, Van, or That Woman, as he calls her. Dilandau is cliniqually insane, but that always makes it more cool.

Miguel Lavariel

THe Bestest Dragon Slayer in the whole wide Gaea!! Too bad he met Zongi. Miguel whould live forever!!!!
