Chibi Usa has been living with the Tsukinos for a little while, and is beginning to make friends at school, including Momo-chan, her best friend. As the girl has been adjusting, the Black Moon has kidnapped Sailor Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter, and after kidnapping Jupiter, one black crystal earring was left behind by Petz. When Usagi, Mamoru, and Minako come back to the Tsukino household with the earring, Chibi Usa is terrified and reveals that it is a crystal like that which hurt her Mom. However, she won't tell the warriors anything else about the strange power exuded from the discarded jewelry. At Usagi's prompting, she swears she is not one of the enemy, but nothing beyond that. A few hours later, she sneaks into Usagi's room while the odango-haired blond is asleep and steals the Silver Crystal off her school uniform. She is caught by Usagi, who snatches the brooch to transform to fight Calaveras. After the fight, Sailor Moon asks Chibi Usa why she took the brooch. The pink-haired girl replies that although it is dangerous to have the Silver Crystal of the past and the Silver Crystal of the present together, having the combined power just might save it. When asked what "it" is, she replies 30th century Tokyo! That night, she uses the space-time key to take Mamoru, Minako, and Usagi to the future, although she knows she was supposed to be forbidden for using it. When they reach the gate to the future, Pluto stops the Senshi, but Chibi Usa comes running up to the guardian, saying how it's her fault they are there! Come to find out, she stole the space-time key from Pluto and ran off to the past without anyone knowing where she was! But Pluto forgives her, and allows all four individuals to go through to the future. But the city is swallowed in evil mist, and the bodies of the dead are everywhere! The girl leads them to the Crystal Palace, where they encounter a little kitten; Chibi Usa's pet, Diana, and someone who looks *very* familiar, and who the child calls "Dad". It is the future Tuxedo Kamen, King Endymion. The King tells Chibi Usa to introduce herself, and she does.. but then it is revealed that she is Usagi and Mamoru's future daughter. The three from the past are sent back, as well as Chibi Usa, but the little one soon returns to the future, uncertain of what she should do. She asks to stay with Sailor Pluto, then goes back to the Crystal Palace. Taking her mother's hands, she asks what she should do. But she receives no answer, and goes sadly out again. Esmeraude is lying in wait for her and starts to strangle her, but Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, and Tuxedo Kamen appear, saving her at the last minute. Finally, Sailor Moon is taken captive, and the next chapter begins. Chibi Usa runs down the streets of Crystal Tokyo, remembering the events of the last few days. She'd always been teased about being so small and not coming into her powers yet, although she was over 900 years old. To prove she was truly of the Silver Millennium bloodline, she had shattered the glass case that held the Silvery Crystal with her Luna-P ball and reached out to touch it. Then havoc broke out, and Neo Queen Serenity was encased in her crystal case. Still having the Crystal in her hands, Chibi Usa ran away, sobbing. As the girl was crying, she first met Sailor Pluto, who tried to cheer her up, being silly and encouraging her that she was just like her mother. She goes to Pluto now to get some comfort, but the Senshi is talking with King Endymion and smiling. Since Chibi Usa used to be the only one to make her smile, the girl feels useless and runs away. But her space-time key breaks off her necklace as she heads out into the time portal, giving her no way to navigate the time stream. She was lost in the blackness of space when the Wiseman found her, telling her he would give her all she desired. So he transformed her into Black Lady. Her coming is foreshadowed before and during the battle with the heads of the Black Moon family. A stream of energy from the Silver Crystal reaches across space and time, and a mysterious person tells the Wiseman it is definitely Crystal energy. Then during the battle, Wiseman appears to give Rubeus his just desserts, but before he does, a shadowy figure appears, calling the flame-haired man a coward. Rubeus asks who she is, but he never gets to hear the answer as he is destroyed. Meanwhile, Mamoru has been lost in the space-time, searching for Chibi Usa, when she appears, but not like he imagined. She takes his hand and leads him further into the darkness. Diamaund and Safir are rescued from the wreckage of their castle by a woman they do not know, and are lead to the Wiseman's domain. There the lady is introduced as the Rabbit. The two men are astonished, to say the least. Black Lady is charged with getting both Sailor Moon and Neo Queen Serenity to use the two crystals' power together to take over the earth, although it could mean the planet's destruction. The woman says she doesn't care what happens to the earth, since she has what she wants, the man she loves, and as he comes out; it's plain to see.. he's Mamoru, called Endymion by her! She kisses him deeply to show he is hers. Black Lady slips into the palace as Sailor Moon and other Senshi arrive, and as they do, she reaches out for Usagi's brooch. The crystal containing Neo Queen Serenity flares, making the woman disappear, then reappear, trying to banish her. King Endymion is speechless as he realizes it's Small Lady, but now grown. Black Lady proclaims her allegiance to the Wiseman, as the queen of Nemesis. She has lost all feeling for her birthplace and her old life, caring only about the love she has taken from Endymion. The Senshi try and reason with her, telling her how much they care, but she doesn't crack, although she comes close when Pluto expresses her love for Small Lady. She keeps on fighting, relishing the moment when Wiseman shows his true, cloudlike form to the astonished warriors. She orders Endymion to grab the Silver Crystal from Sailor Moon, which he does, giving the crystal to Black Lady. Just as the woman is about to combine the two crystals, Diamaund slaps her upside the head and steals them. She runs after him, but he is faster, and starts to put the crystals together... But Pluto runs in, calling out her forbidden attack, "Time Stop!", which stops the crystals only an inch apart. Because she stopped time, she must die, but before she does, she says to take care of Small Lady. Black Lady insists she is alone and has no friends, as the power flows out of her. Then she remembers, how Pluto was her closest friend who always loved her, even when she felt others did not. The fact she has lost her closest friend breaks through the Wiseman's spell, and Black Lady is no more. Crying over the death of Sailor Pluto broke the Wiseman's hold, and Black Lady disappeared as a crystal-bright tear ran down her cheek. In her place was Chibi-Usa, but transformed, and now wearing a Senshi outfit! But the battle isn't over yet, as Death Phantom comes forward in full force. He goes to Nemesis, taking Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen with him. Chibi Usa tries to follow, and as she joins the Sailor Senshi, the awakened Neo Queen Selenity shrinks her own moon rod and hands it to the girl. Overjoyed, Chibi Usa uses the space-time key to take her to Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen, and fight with them against Wiseman. After the battle, things return to normal.. for the moment. Chibi Usa still vies for Mamoru's attention with Usagi, but the younger girl is the more mature, even reminding Usagi that she hasn't eaten breakfast, although that's the most important meal of the day. The adventure begins the day Chibi Usa's class goes to an amusement park (supervised by Mamoru, of course). She rides the roller coaster twice, and the second time the hat she bought for Ikuko-mommy flies off her head, so she gets off the ride to go after it. She finds it on the grounds of the Inifinity Academy, but that's not all she finds. In one secluded area is a place marked "Tomoe Research Labs", and a young girl coughing under the doorway. The new girl is Tomoe Hotaru, and the two become good friends as the fight against this new enemy goes on. The girl is rude at first when Chibi Usa asks if she's all right. The mysterious child says she does this all the time and that it will pass. At that moment, Usagi appears.. as does a monster! Both senshi transform and defeat the possessed creature, turning it back into the cat it was originally. They look back to see the other girl still there, and she asks who they are. They introduce themselves as Senshi, and the girl sees that Chibi Usa is hurt. Her eyes glow white, and she takes Chibimoon's bleeding arm. Miraculously, the arm is healed! She wraps a handkerchief around the hurt area and tells Chibi Usa to disinfect it when she gets home, explaining that the healing power is something she's had since she was very little. Chibimoon asks her name, and she replies that she is Tomoe Hotaru, but then leaves and goes back inside the research lab. Chibi Usa doesn't think much more about it, until one day Momoko brings in pictures of their day at the amusement park to school. Then she remembers the strange girl and goes searching for the handkercheif Hotaru gave her. The blood stain wasn't able to be washed out, so she goes and gets a new one. She walks to the Labs and find Hotaru there by calling out to her. The older girl is surprised that Chibi Usa came all that way, and invites her to her room. Inside it's fairly dark, but there are many lamps, which seems to be her collection. The pink-haired girl also notices that her friend put on black tights and asks if it's because she prefers dark clothing. Hotaru explains she got many scars from an accident years ago. Chibi Usa asks what is being researched in the lab, but her new friend has a coughing attack. Hotaru asks for the amulet on the table, then tells her to go. The younger girl can't leave her friend in pain, so opens her locket and fills the older girl with healing energy from the Silver Crystal. Hotaru inquires if that is Chibi Usa's amulet.. what protects her. Chibi Usa replies that it protects her, and can shield Hotaru as well. Then young Tomoe realizes she doesn't know her friend's name, so Chibi Usa introduces herself. Hotaru figures out that she is Chibimoon, and swears to keep it, and the Silver Crystal, a secret. In return, she tells Chibi Usa that the monster that attacked them yesterday was probably an experiment from her father's lab, but not to hate him for it, because he wasn't really evil, and he had saved her from that long-ago accident. The younger girl promises that it's their secret. Interestingly enough, Chibi Usa is said to be in grade 5.. and she's been made class president! But even with her busy school life, she goes back to visit Hotaru. When she leaves, it is dark and she considers calling Usagi or Mamoru for a ride, when a helicopter hovers overhead and opens a door for her to climb in. It seems the occupants, Tenoh Haruka and Kaioh Michiru, know Usagi, and so offer the girl a lift to her house. Inside, they ask her if she is a friend of Hotaru's and what did they talk about? Chibi Usa says she is, and it's a secret.. then reveals they were discussing amulets. She inquires as to whether Michiru's mirror is an amulet as well, and the older woman replies it's not that special, and is called a talisman. When they drop her off, they ask her not to tell Usagi what they talked about, and she agrees. The next day, she is going to a concert with Mamoru, and sees a poster for the performer. It's Kaioh Michiru from the day before! The rest of the Senshi show up and she's surprised, but come to find out they *all* have tickets for the concert. In another auditorium, a popular idol, really one of Kaolinite's lackeys, is singing and tries to capture people with her voice. But she is interrupted by all the Senshi.. including Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus. After the fight, Chibi Usa recognizes Neptune's hand mirror, and therefore, the identity of the mysterious new warrior. The new fighters say they are not allies with the Inner Senshi and leave. Luna thinks that because they are not allies, they must be foes, but Chibi Usa tells Mamoru that she can't believe them to be enemies.. not after they had been so kind to her. Later on, she forshadows future events. She comes into the fruit parlor/arcade and asks Motoki if he's seen Mamoru. She needs help with a project.. a lump of clay that looks roughly like a cup. She says it is the Holy Chalice that her Mom carries it, and when the people are in danger, it gives off incredible power. She relates how she and Diana used to sneak into her mother's room to look at stuff, but starts to sniffle as she feels homesick. But she'd promised her Mom she wouldn't go back to the future until her training as a Sailor Senshi was complete. More when I get around to reading the manga volumes after this.
