Luv, Anna

I truly loved your Web site The Runker's Hockey Page. I am a die-hard pros, juniors, and minors hockey fan and follower since the early 1970s. The 70s was truly the best decade for hockey. It was sad to see the N.H.L. and W.H.A. merger. Because of it, we lost teams like Quebec, Hartford and Winnipeg. The N.H.L. is really going in the wrong direction putting franchises in Nashville, Carolina and Phoenix. And it's going to get worse if they try and move the Canucks and Senators. I spent the 70s living in Renfrew and Linday, Ontario, Canada. Hockey is truly Canada's game. I miss "Hockey Night in Canada" and the old W.H.A.

Hello,

As a coin collector, I enjoyed your website on Japanese coins. I'm fascinated by the 50-yen and 5-yen coins with holes in the middle. I would greatly appreciate if you could tell me if either of the aforementioned coins are associated with good luck or love. I'm interested in making a necklace out of a coin for a special friend. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help.

Your Runker Room Hockey Page is the Trolleytracks Hockey Daily "Site O' the Day" for Thursday, November 18, 1999. You must be very proud!

The site's spirit and content are very impressive. You've done a wonderful job organizing and presenting some very interesting and important content.

Check Trolleytracks Hockey Daily for the day's Big Deal, Soapbox and Feature, along with news from the wires, dynamically updated NHL scores, news and standings, the famed Reader Poll, and best of all, the Site O' the Day.

All the best to you and your site.

Dear Dr. Hiruki,

Greetings. We've just recently discovered your excellent webpage The Runker's Hockey Page: Hockey, Hockey, Hockey! Canada's National Sport. It's certainly a highly informative and entertaining on-line resource.

Our site, The Death of Hockey, promotes a remarkable, critically acclaimed book of the same name, presents unique perspectives -- angry, hilarious, heartfelt and controversial -- on a game deep in crisis, and protests mmajor league greed and stupidity, on behalf of Canada and beleaguered fans everywhere.

It's clear from the material on your site that you're already keenly aware of the issues; as a Canadian fan, you're absolutely right to be troubled and disgusted with the policies and attitudes of the Bettman NHL regarding teams in Canada and in "small-market" cities in the northern US, as well as by their contempt for the game's history and traditions. These are among the same concerns addressed at length in The Death of Hockey. The site, built and maintained in collaboration with the book's authors, features extensive excerpts, news updates and editorials, rave reviews, links to other hockey sites, and an on-site fan forum that's become a flashpoint for fan activism.

Love our site or hate it, you are invited to visit our fan forum and contribute your thoughts and opinions. We also direct your attention in particular to our news pages, where the threat posed by the NHL's new attacks on webmasters and other efforts to quash organized fan activism are detailed. And if you haven't done so already, we strongly urge you to visit the National Hockey League Fans Association site and join today. We need EVERY hockey fan to sign up and speak out.

Thanks for your time and attention, and continued good luck with your excellent site.

Best wishes.

I am a student at the Platte County R-III Highschool in Platte City Missouri. We are having a mock trial and I was assigned the role of coroner. I'm really having some trouble digging up information on the subject and came across your Welcome to the Morgue website. I was wondering if you could possibly help me find some information to help me with this project. If you could e-mail me with information on what you have to do to be a coroner it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I am not Japanese in the least, but my husband is deeply moved by Japanese gardens. We actually flew to Portland to visit the Japanese Garden. I was hoping that your Obon festival might have been there and that I could see the garden again.

Thanks for your site. It is good to learn more about Japanese culture, especially since we have Buddhist friends in Chicago. I would like to honor their beliefs and interact from a mildly informed position.

Please e-mail me if you have more information on the different stages the body goes through after death. It is really interesting. Most people think that you just die and decompose, so when I read this report to my class, quite a few will be shocked! I am in the International Baccualauriate program and they expect us to write almost an almost perfect report about 5-15 pgs long. So I could use all the info. I could recieve!

Well, I like Japan a lot, I'm student of 21 years in informatic sciences and your site is one of the most interesting I saw. Many informations and many pictures. I build a lot of web sites but don't have time for mine or perhaps don't know where to begin but I'll put your site in it when it'll exist. Try to make it more beautiful, it can be and I'm sure you'll have more and more visitors.

Hi Tad,

Lisa told me you had a great Web site, so I thought I would check it out. I heard you were practicing with Portland Taiko. Do you have any internet leads on Japanese "fork-songs" (folksongs -- I saw that printed on a CD in Japan!)?

Vivien

P.S. I'm going to pass this site onto my cousin Craig, who is really into delving into his Japanese-ness and genealogical stuff.

Wow. I am deeply impressed with this site. What a lot of hard work must have gone into building such a comprehensive yet easy to grasp set of resources. I admit that when I turned to the 'net for help in my research I only expected to discover very broad and general knowledge. I have been very pleasantly surprised by your detailed work on the O-bon page and its many links. Thank you kindly for making my efforts to understand Japanese culture all the more simple and worthwhile.
