Who are you? Who are you?  I feel…I have never gotten to know you well.  You…are so near and yet…so far.  That promise, do you still remember that?  That promise that you made to me, it still lingers in me.  I never did forget it…Cloud, never…That summer night…

One summer night,
As I clearly recall.
That summer night,
As you promised me.
Sitting by the well,
With the stars above.
You promised me,
To protect me eternally.

It rekindled a flame in me,
Passion tingled with hope.
I thought I would never find,
Someone who truly loved me.
You rekindled that flame in me,
That flame which gave me strength.

I will wait for you, I will pray for you.
And I know you will remember me too.
For deep within, I have faith in you,
Faith that you will come back to me again.

Cloud, no!  You can't leave me!  I'll wait for you, Cloud.  Please, wake up, please…Even if its for years and years, I'll still wait for you, I'll stay beside you and wait…Yes, and as I wait, it all comes back to me…memories…

Deep in my heart,
You do have a place.
You were the one,
Who gave me strength.

The one who unwaveringly.
Showered me with care.
Bound by the mission to save the planet,
I got to know you, the true side of you.

When your conscious met your subconscious,
I realized what I meant to you.
You were not uncaring, nor devoid of feelings.
I let my feelings flow then, hoping to manifest them.

Memories of the past, I will keep,
Forever and ever in my heart.

Cloud, do you mean it?  You really care for me…Cloud, oh, Cloud, I feel that I am starting to understand you now…No longer will I ask myself who you are.  No longer fathoming…

Fathom, fathom
I've been trying to fathom you
Trying to understand you
Trying to penetrate the depths of your heart

Yet, I feel a barrier
An invisible barrier which you hold up
A barrier which I want to cross
But which you do not allow

Then, something softened that emotional barrier
You opened up to me and I was able to cross that barrier
Able to see the true person
Who lies beneath that cool, unfeeling façade

Was it fate or was it destiny?
To have met such a special person like you
A person who let me experience emotions
And in the midst let me understand myself too

Yes, and I understand you now
I know your hopes and your fears
And no longer am I
No longer am I fathoming you…

Any comments or opinions are welcome, but please don't send me any rude mail.  Actually, I started this out as a fanfic, then I decided to input poems.  These poems can also be found in the Final Fantasy poems section.(except for No Longer Fathoming)  These poems were written quite some time ago, mostly at different periods of time, then I put them together into a story.  Well, hope you have enjoyed it!^_^
