Reiko Satomi
Question 2: Character's gender
Female
Question 3: Character's age
about 16 or 17
Question 4: Character's cursed form, and reason for curse
No jusenkyo curse, considering her nature it would probably be a BAD idea to get her anywhere near Jusenkyo water
Question 5: Character's Martial Arts Style.
Ninjitsu
Question 6: A general description of the character.
Reiko is an exiled ninja that took up with the demon hunter Thrythlind Hardwulf. She is a rather practical person compared to Thrythlind's head in the clouds, absent-minded nature. In general Reiko is quite polite in speech, if a little mischieveous at times. She is quite used to travelling dimensions and fighting demons, but doesn't have as much experience fighting skilled humans.
Reiko is about Akane's height, with a slim athletic build, yellow hair streaked in places with black (if she kept her hair short, the streaks would appear as Jaguar-like spots). She has sharp canines, cat-like eyes, thick-spotted sideburns that she tries to keep shaved away. Her back, lower legs, and lower arms are covered in a soft, yellow, black-spotted fur. In addition to this she has retractable claws in her feet and toes, and a long jaguar-tail.
Reiko is pretty easy going as long as nobody starts harping on her inhuman appearance...she does not like being told that she is not human, and while calling her a cat-girl by itself won't bother her, words like "throwback" "demoness" "inhuman" and "monster" are likely to set her off.
She enjoys relaxing in large bodies of water and sunning herself when she is not training.
Question 7: The character's history.
Reiko was exiled from her clan soon after her first mission. A jaguar spirit attempted to possess and transform her, due to her own mystical nature it failed. Reiko was forced, however, to assimilate its remaining chi enter her own in order to survive the spiritual injuries taken during the battle. Her clan jonin exiled her rather than deal with the change.
She eventually met Thrythlind and started helping on his knowledge hunting and demon slaying quests. Their journies through dimensions began by accident, but after acquiring a book on "Everything you wanted to know about dimensional travel but were afraid to ask." from some demon-hunter girl who "seemed familiar" that wanted to get the book away from her apprentice.
In VatC Reiko and Thrythlind appear in the Ranmaverse at wildly different points due to a miscast spell, she takes a nap in a lake, in her pool form (see below), and ends up trapped in a kettle carried by Ryouga after his most recent Jusenkyo trip (where he falls into the spring of drowned girl and learns that the springs only work twice)
In this instance I'd say take out the Ryouga-Chan thing, but her motivation for hanging around Nerima would stay the same. "There are so many martial artists and oddballs here, that Thrythlind is bound to show up sooner or later."
Question 8: Special Moves.
Reiko can turn into a pool of water, rendering her immune to non-chi attacks, though she can't do anything else herself. In terrain with water of an inch depth or greater she can move virtually undetectably like this. If she can she prefers not to reveal this ability (okay so she doesn't really care in VatC, but this isn't VatC) so that no one thinks to look for a pool of water if she wants to sneak up on or away from people. In any sort of tournament Reiko will not take advantage of a Jusenkyo curse, if accidentally transforms someone to a form pretty much incapable of fighting, she will turn them back or at least wait for them to turn back.
In addition to this Reiko can eject a stream of high pressure water from her hand, if she charges this with negative or positive chi she can achieve one of two other effects.
Kori Kiri: charges her water blast with negative chi so that a stream of quick freezing water coats the target
Yugi Kiri: positive chi, a steam blast all three of these are somewhat taxing to use, the two chi ones being more so, and require a decent amount of concentration other than this, Reiko is ALMOST as fast as Ranma-Chan, unfortunately for her, most of her experience in fighting humanoid foes is against drone-type masses (zombies etc.) and she will not be used to sparring with truly skilled warriors. The first moments of a fight are likely to go against her.
Heel Stamp...jumps up and smashes her feet into her opponent, does very little damage but is very quick and throws the opponent back away from her several yards
Reiko is utterly immune to possession, mind control and mystical forms of detection, but I doubt those will come up.
Question 9: The Character's motivation.
Reiko is hoping to get a little publicity and make it easier for Thrythlind to find her, plus its a chance to have some fun. Compared to her normal trip this is a vacation.
Fight except submitted with the character:
"This is so relaxing," Reiko purred. She lay half-submerged in the shallows of the pond soaking in all the sun she could. She briefly considered just letting herself join the waters of the pond, and then rejected it. She didn't want to wake up trapped inside anymore tea kettles. "I wonder how Thrythlind is doing."
A short, blonde gaijin in battered green overcoat, face half shaded by an old brown leather hat. He paused for a moment in walking as he finished the last few sentences of the novel in his hands. Then he put the book in the black shoulder bag at his side, shifting the five foot staff as he did so.
"Now to see how much further down the road I am," he looked up and glanced around at all the trees surrounding him, seeing no road anywhere. "Wait a minute."
"Get off of me you freak!" Reiko blinked open one eye at the sound. Some girl, about her age maybe.
"Of course, I can't ever get any time just lounging," she complained in a purring voice just as caught between jaguar and human as she was. "Oh well, let's go see what this is about." She stood up out of the water, shaking off the water though she could just as easily absorb into herself. Then she leaped toward the shouting.
"Oh, pig-tailed girl who's fiery nature has entwined my soul forever to her own path," Kuno ranted after standing up from Ranma-chan's slamming him into the ground.
"Get off my back, Kuno!" Ranma-chan shouted, starting to walk away from the ranting swordsman, prepared to smash him into the ground again. Or better yet, orbit kick him.
"You there! Pig-tailed girl! What have you done with my beloved Ranma!" Ranma-chan actually felt like crying.
"Who says I'm your beloved anything!" she decided to shout instead. "Out of my way!"
"I believe you two should leave her alone," insisted a purring female voice. Ranma-chan rolled her eyes and turned to tell the newcomer that she could take care of herself. Her eyes widened in terror as she turned to look at his would-be rescuer
"C-c-c-c-c-c-ca-CAATTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Ranma-chan shouted before racing off at near sonic-speeds. Reiko blinked, confused, okay so she had fur covering her lower arms and legs and a tail that was rather irritably swishing back and forth now. She didn't look that inhuman did she?
"You there, the one of demonic vile beauty, what are you some seductress demon-servant of that damnable sorcerrer saotome? Sent here to frighten away my beloved and tempt me away from my holy quest to free her from the master who holds your inhuman leash. Very well, I, Tatewaki Kunou, the Blue Thunder of Furinkan high," a thunder bolt cracked down behind him. "Shall do his best to resist your vile temptations and defeat Saotome's evil plan."
After the "you there" about the only thing Reiko caught from the speech was "demonic vile", "seductress demon-servant", "inhuman" and the rather thinly veiled innuendos.
"You mistake yourself, brother," Kodachi shouted. "This freak of nature is not allied with my beloved Ranma, she is instead here on that pig-tailed girl's wicked request in order to cover her cowardly escape. Still you are right that this abomination must be vanquished at once, and I, Kodachi Kuno, Black Rose of St. Hebereke High, shall aid you doing so. OHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" Again, all Reiko caught were "freak of nature" and "abomination."
"Damn samurai," Reiko growled, claws unsheathing from her fingers. Then the Kuno's attacked. "I AM NOT AN INHUMAN FREAK YOU JERKS!!!!"
Kodachi's ribbon led and Reiko handsprung over it's slashing arc. This brought her into Kuno's reach, but that was her plan. The samurai predictably slashed at her with his bokken, a little slower than he could have moved maybe, but she figured his "honor" would keep him from attacking her full force. Reiko let herself fall to the ground, twisting about to catch herself with her hands. The sword passed over her and legs twisted about in a break dancing motion that would sent her ninja clan trainers into scandalized paroxysms.
'So I'm slightly Americanized, so what,' she thought as the samurai landed painfully onto his back and she rose to her knees.
The entire thing took less than a second but the sister was already lashing another attack, tossing what looked like a hula hoop at her. The cat girl leaped over the on-coming hoop intending to land feet first on top of the annoying noble girl. Kodachi wasn't there, she could move a little faster than she looked it seemed.
Reiko glanced around for Kodachi, but being still in her jump couldn't do much to avoid being wrapped up in the slightly off gymnast's ribbon.
"I have you now, beast!!! OHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!-eh?" Kodachi's laughed ceased abruptly as Reiko melted into a clear mass of what looked like water. The puddle passed through the ribbon and struck the ground, rebounding in a pillar that quickly reformed into the severely irritated jaguar girl.
Reiko's attack on the nonpulsed samurai girl was interrupted with a wooden stick expertly carved into a replica of a sword. She slashed her arms forward and grabbed the stick to avoid having her head smash into that weapon.
"Unhand my weapon, fiend!!!" the samurai grunted against the effort of keeping his sword against the momentum of a leaping ninja. Reiko kicked her feet up basically using the bokken as a gymnast's bar flipping around and landing on her feet bent double. Reiko saw Kodachi raising what looked like a bowling pin in preparation to attack her.
"No problem," Reiko answered as she dropped the bokken dropping to the ground and kicking upward. She performed another handspring, combining it with a kick throw that sent Kodachi into her brother. The two samurai landed in jumbled heap several feet away. "Okay, that's enough punishment, time to end this." She flipped out of her hand spring and landed, hands extended outward.
"KORI KIRI!!!" She shouted and her furred-lower arms vanished into an onrushing flood of freezing water. As the Kunos stood up they were impacted full force by the quick freezing liquid, suddenly becoming a rather realistic looking ice sculpture, probably because they really were two kunos frozen inside a shell of spiky ice.
"I AM NOT A FREAK!!!" she shouted then stomped away. "Damn samurai, always acting holier-than-thou. Hmmph at least this is more news for Thrythlind to track down."
"I've had to lead you back to civilization FIVE times now," the winged snake pointed out.
"Shut up."
"You could try to pay attention to where you're going after I have to go back to my home."
"Just get me out of this forest."
"But, no, you're always reading some novel or another."
"I can find other ally spirits," Thrythlind threatened.
"I wonder how Reiko would react to knowing WHERE you got that spell book," the snake pondered.
"Errr."
"Some girl with long hair, a whip and an attitude, right. Iako Mano or something."
"We stopped seeing each other before I met Reiko. She had family business or something."
"Ahh, but when did she give you the book?" Thrythlind sweatdropped.
"You know I'd never replace you, you're the best spirit friend I have."
"That's better. There's a road this way."
