All Styles (Moderate Knowledge)
Question 6: A general description of the
character.
Sukira always dresses in white and black Chinese clothes
similar to Ranma's. He has a long ponytail. As a girl he bears a
vague resemblance to Ukyo Kuonji and was at one point mistaken
for her by his younger brother, Tsubasa. His specializes in a
wide range of fighting styles in order to be better able to read
his opponents moves but has not mastered them completely. His
weapons include a staff and kodachi dagger made of memory metal
so that only he can use them. Sukira is a lot like Nabiki,
personality-wise. He's a loner and a drifter who makes his living
through con games and other forms of fraud and extortion. He's
cynical, sarcastic and overconfident at times. He uses his female
side for disguises but tries to refrain from it for fear of the
"Tsubasa Gene" taking over his brain.
Question 7: The character's history.
Sukira is a good friend of Ukyo's since he has acted as a
buffer between her and Tsubasa on several ocassions. Since he
never stays in one place very long he doesn't have a great deal
of enemies nearby at any one point in time. But his attitude and
overconfidence tend to get him into trouble. Most of his training
took place in China (including Jusenkyo) with brief layovers in
Europe and North America.
Question 8: Special Moves.
Pretty much all those of the other characters. He has no trademark attacks of his own.
Here is an excerpt from The Master of Martial Arts by Stephen Schlueter (The character Suteko is near Ranma's level of skill):
"Oh, please." grumbled Suteko "Him against
ME?"
"What kind of stupid idea is that?" continued Sukira.
"Exactly." said Suteko
"Of course." said Sukira.
"There's no way you'd beat ME!" They both said.
"You really think you could beat me?" said Suteko.
"I was about to ask you the same thing."
"You couldn't beat me in that sparring match."
"Well, a lot's changed since Jusenkyo, I'll have you
know."
"You can't fight a girl." said Akane.
"She has a point." said Sukira.
"Well, we can get around that." replied Suteko. She
dumped a bucket of cold water over Sukira's head.
"*sputter* Why don't you dump cold water over your own
head?!" shouted Sukira-Chan.
Suteko just grinned.
The crowd were murmuring little things like: "Wow! Just like
what happens to Ranma!" and "Hey! He kind of looks like
that chick with the spatula!"
"Alright!" said Sukira-Chan "Challenge
accepted."
"He's not serious is he?" asked Ranma.
"He looks serious to me." answered Akane
The memory metal staff started to glow. Not a good sign. Suteko
attacked but somehow Sukira seemed to vanish and show up behind
her. Sukira used another low swing to trip Suteko. Suteko,
however, was not as easy to catch off guard as Tsubasa was. She
dodged the attack and countered with her own staff just missing
Sukira's head. Suteko was impressed at how
much better he was since the last time they were in a match back
at Jusenkyo. Suteko had to react quickly to avoid the
memory metal amplified powers of Sukira's battle aura.
Five minutes passed with niether Suteko nor Sukira landing a
single blow.
That was when Sukira, for no apparent reason, tripped and almost
landed on his face. But there was a reason.
And she was standing right behind Sukira.
Astuko, who had somehow been unnoticed by the crowd, had almost
suceeded in causing Sukira to land on his face.
I'm not sure where The Master of Martial Arts is archived, but if you'd like a copy e-mail the author, Stephen Schlueter.
