Ryuu Kumon vs. Toma

The Setting:

Ryuu Kumon walked through the streets of the Nerima district one evening.  He had been training in a nearby forest and was now getting hungry.  "I should have brought something with me to eat," he said to himself.  Suddenly, he looked up, and saw a restaurant.  "Ucchan's Okonomiyaki?" he said to himself.  "well, i might as well try this place.  I don't see another resaurant nearby."

As Ryuu walked in, he was greeted by a cute girl holding a giant spatula.  "Hi!  Welcome to Ucchan's!" she said smiling.  "What would you like?"  Ryuu thought for a second and reached into his pockets.  He then realized he didn't have any money.  Ukyo saw this too.  "Bussiness has been doing awfully well, I guess I could spare one order for free."  she thought.  "Tell you what, order what you want, and I'll put it on the house just this once."  Ryuu smiled thankfully.

Meanwhile, not far away, Toma and his companions had been searching all over Nerima for concubines.  "<The last group of beautiful women who came to our island were from this area if I recall correctly,>" he said.  "<there are bound to be others here too!>"  Sure enough, a group of several beautiful teenage young ladies happened to walk out of a store.  "<Will you look at that?  Four young girls, each more lovely than the other.  This is our lucky day!>"  Toma walked up to the girls and spoke in the most charming tone he could possibly speak in.  "<Hello ladies,  I am Price Toma of Togenkyo Island.  It's very dangerous for such precious gems as yourselves to be walking alone at night.  I would like to offer you shelter back at my tropical island where you can live in riches for the rest of your beautiful lives,>"  He took the hand of one of the young dames and planted a kiss on it.

"UGH!  Get away you little creep!" she screamed as she slapped the young prince across the face.  Still, Toma had a calm look on his face.

"Wonton," he said.  With a snap on his fingers, the large dog man stepped foward.  "will you please escort these ladies back to our home?"

Meanwhile, back at Ucchan's, Ryuu was about to take a bite out of a delicious okonomiyaki when he suddenly heard a scream.  "Huh?  What's going on?"  He got out of his chair and walked out the door.  Ukyo followed.

"Um, sir, is something wrong?  You haven't touched your okonomi...." then she saw.  "Oh my god!  Not Toma again!"

"Somebody's got to do something," Ryuu thought.

As the dog man was about to grab hold of the four terrified girls, he suddenly heard a loud voice.  "DON'T MOVE!!"  He turned around and saw a boy charging towards him at incredible speed.  Once the boy got close enough to him, he swung both of his arms outward for a strike into the dog mans neck while at the same time kicking him in the stomach.

"You better get out of here," Ryuu said to the girls who promptly ran away.  He then looked at the three whom remained standing.  "If you know what's best for you, you better take him and get out of here too,"

"Hmmph..." was Toma's reply as he motioned his other two companions to attack.  Sarutoru was backed by Torristan as the bird-man threw several feather like shuriken at the boy.

"KIJIN RAISHU DAN!!" at this command, Ryuu tossed several chi blades which ripped threw the shuriken and exploded onto the ground underneath his adversaries.  The sight of his companions being beaten so easily surprised Toma although he didn't show it.  Ryuu now eyed his last opponent.

"You are very strong.." Toma said calmly.  "Your technique is flawless, but you are still no match for Toma, the Master of Illusions,"

Ryuu didn't seem to be affected by the comment.  "You had your chance to run," he said preparing his Yamasen-ken fighting stance.  "I am Ryuu Kumon, inheritor of the Kumon Dojo.  Now prepare to feel the power of Yamasen-ken,"

Ukyo who was watching nearby was astonished.  "Ryuu Kumon?  No wonder!  This impersonator even gave Ranchan a tough time!"

I know VERY little about Ryuu, but I've read about him in some fanfics and his profile too... I really don't want to see Toma lose yet again, but I guess I'm going to vote for Ryuu.  His attacks are really leathal, and I just think they would be more potent than Toma's illusions.  I don't really have anything intellegent to say here since I know next to nothing about this character!

Well, people seem to majorly underscore Toma's power, and he's probably going to lose because of it, but I know the truth, and he would win. Reason, look, Ryuu's damned tough, but he got beat by Ranma.  Toma did not.  Ryuu's tricks rely a great deal on surprise, which is no good when you first attack an illusion.  Once that surprise element is gone, Toma's superior speed to even Ranma, combined with his illusions and ability to simply reflect attacks back at the attacker is going to make Ryuu's basically defeat himself. Ryuu has nothing that can really hurt Toma once things start.  Also remember Toma can stop you in your tracks with a gust of wind (he stopped the whole R 1/2 crew with that before using the illusion fire to take them out).

It is difficult to make a judgement here, as I'm only familiar with Kumon Ryuu from the fanfiction I've seen him in, but from what I do know of him, I think that Ryuu would win this fight. The Yamisen-ken is one half of an incredibly powerful and dangerous style of martial arts. Genma created them, and then hid them away, so afraid was he of the power he'd unleashed. For someone like GENMA to discard such an advantage would seem to imply that the techniques truly are of absurd power. Toma has his tricks, but he was pretty summarily defeated by Ranma while Ranma was using mainly only his standard techniques. If Toma has to face the Yamasen-ken, all the illusions in the world aren't going to save him.

This is tough, The battle will be close, but I'm going for Ryuu. He is a vastly superiour fighter, but he'll have a tough time getting past Toma's speed and illusions. He'll have to check his temper though.

The Fight:

Toma drew his sword and eyed Ryuu who stood still in his fighting stance.  Ryuu suddenly rushed at Toma with amazing speed.  "MOKO KAIMON HA!" He swung his arms apart at Toma's neck while aiming a kick towards his chest.  Surprisingly, Ryuu felt his arms and leg float through Toma's body and strike a lamp post behind him.  Ryuu jumped back as the lamp post came crashing down.  "Master of Illusions huh?" he said.  "Now I see why.."

Toma stood laughing.  "You are a slow learner.  You still wish to fight what you can't catch?"  Ryuu saw Toma's  image suddenly disappeared and was replaced by another right behind him, which slammed the hilt of the his sword onto his back.

Landing hard on the concrete floor, Ryuu began to think.  "I better watch out.  Ranma used similar tactics to beat me!  Well let's see if two can play at this game!"  Ryuu suddenly looked at a spot behind Toma.  "Girls!!  I told you to leave this area!  It's not safe!!"  Just as planned, Toma fell for it and looked behind himself.

"Dokuja Tanketsu Sho!!" Ryuu charged again by spearing Toma in the heart with a flat palm.  Instead of connecting or flying through thin air, the attack felt as if it was being absorbed this time.  Not wanting to see what else Toma had in mind, Ryuu jumped back.  But it was too late as he felt something strike him in the heart.

Pulling back some more, Ryuu looked at his tank top and saw a hole in it which revealed a large bruise on his chest.  "You used my own technique against me!" he said realizing he almost tore his own heart out.  Toma smiled.  "You are no match for me, your weak mind shall be your downfall!"  Suddenly, Ryuu took out some rope and swung it at Toma and entrapped his arms in it.  Taken by surprise, Toma prepared to cut the rope.  Before he could free himself, Ryuu charged again with a spear hand to the stomach.  "Geimon Tetsu Sen Shi!!"  This time, the blow connected.  Toma flew a couple feet into the air.  Still, Ryuu didn't want to give him a chance to recover.  "Kaichu Hoju Satsu!!" he commanded as he caught Toma in a bear hug.

Pain shot through Toma's body as he couldn't move.  He began to feel his ribs crack.  "Do you give up!?" Ryuu said putting more pressure.  "Even your illusions can't save you now!"  However, a few seconds later, Toma's image appeared to vanish from Ryuu's grasp.  Stumbling back, Ryuu kept his guard up knowing that his enemy could appear anywhere.  Momentarily, he felt the blade of the sword slash across his back causing him to fall forward.

"You still impress me," Toma said brandishing his sword.  "But now, I end this!  Behold the power of my ultimate technique!"  He raised his sword to the sky which glowed and blinded Ryuu's vision.  "Yogan Ran
Digi-Dan!"  All of a sudden, Ryuu felt as if he was in the middle of a raging inferno.  He began to feel his body burn in the  flames as he sank to the ground.

"I can't believe it!" he thought to himself.  "I've lost!  After all I've been through, I'm going to die in battle with this illusionist!"  Suddenly, it came to him.  "Master of Illusions?" he said aloud.  He began to remember each trick Toma used on him throughout the battle.  "Everything he used on me was an illusion!" he called out.  "None of this is real!  Everything is fake!"  Ryuu slowly got up.  Toma was shocked.  There had been few who have realized the key to his technique.  Ryuu was just added to the list.  "MOKO KAIMON HA!"  Ryuu commanded striking at Toma again with his arms and right leg.  Toma took the full impact in his surprised state and flew into the side of a building.

"Now Master of Illusions," Ryuu said flaring up his chi.  "feel the power of the ultimate Yamasen-ken technique!  Kijin Raishu Dan!!"  Pulling his arms back, Ryuu sent two vacumm chi blades in Toma's direction.  Both of them exploded onto the ground and gave Toma several cuts in his chest.  Toma got up and began to think to himself.  "Such power, I can't fight him directly!"  His image suddenly vanished as Ryuu launched several more chi blades.

Knowing Toma was still around, Kumon began turning his head to look in every direction.  "Show yourself you coward!  I'll stay here all night if I have to!"  Seconds later, he began to hear Toma's footsteps in several directions.  "Oh the hell with it!  I don't have time for this!  I gotta finish my dinner!"  Ryuu flared up his chi again.  "Kijin Dai Ran Bu!!" spinning around, he began to fire chi blades in all directions in a desperate attempt to hit Toma.  When the smoke cleared, Toma was still nowhere in sight.  "Where could he be?" Ryuu began to wonder.  Toma, who had been hiding at the top of a building saw an opening to attack.  He drew his sword and jumped down towards his adversary.

"Huh?  What was that?" Ryuu spun around and saw Toma flying downwards in his direction and quickly reacted.  "Sai Dai Kyü Kijin Raishü Dan!!"  He launched an even more powerful chi blade at Toma.  In mid air, there was nothing Toma could do but to try and block with his sword.  The blades of energy ripped through the metal like paper and struck Toma with a direct hit.  Toma fell to the ground unconscious and scarred badly on the chest.  Ryuu powered down his chi.  "Well, it's over.  I better go finish my dinner,"

Heading back to the Ucchan's, Ryuu was quickly stopped by Ukyo.  "Wait one minute.  If you want that okonomiyaki, you'll have to pay first!"  Ryuu looked confused.  "Didn't you just say it was on the house?"  "Yes," Ukyo replied.  "But I'm afraid as manager it would be unfair and I can't allow that, <especially after what you did to my Ranchan you jackass!>"  Ryuu sighed.  "This is what city life does to people.." he thought.  "Well, Genma Saotome said these were thief techniques.  I'll just put some meaningful use to them now,"  He walked over to his fallen opponent and reached into Toma's pocket.  "Here," Ryuu said tossing Ukyo a beautiful gem.  "I'll just take that okonomiyaki to go.  Oh, and keep the change..."

The Results:

Ryuu Kumon: 10

Toma: 5

I know, it took me forever to rotate this fight despite my promises that I'd get it done sooner. I'm sorry ^_^ It's hard to come up with an even match without using the characters I've already been using time after time.
