Losers Bracket
The Setting:
Rei Saotome ran along the top of a fence somewhwere in the Nerima district. She was trying to find her way to the Tendou dojo at the moment, but didn't have any idea exactly where it was. She heard Genma mention it to Ranma while she was following them around in China. Apparently, Genma just wanted to visit one of his old friends. Rei didn't think this was very important, but she figured she could ask this Mr. Tendou where her father was staying at the moment.
She thought back on the tournament fight that she had lost, and sighed. The young man she had fought against was quite a few years older than herself, and so was the rest of the field of competition, from what she'd heard. She supposed that she'd wait a few years before trying to enter a competion like that again.
Perfume was on her way back to the Nekohanten after she'd been eliminated from the tournament. She had no idea that these foreign styles were so powerful. She made sure that she'd intensify her training when she got back to the villiage so that she'd never be beaten again by any outsider. As she was thinking, she spotted a young girl running along the fences nearby. A girl wearing chinese clothes, who had red hair...
It was that pig tailed outsider who had defeated Shampoo! She looked much younger than Perfume remembered her being back in the village. How was it that Shampoo had still not managed to defeat her? Well... it didn't matter, because Perfume would take care of it in the name of Joketsuzoku pride.
She leapt up onto the fence, and into Rei's way. The younger girl didn't know what to make of this, but the Amazon certainly didn't look like she was in a friendly mood. She decided to break the silence, and said, "Uh... what do you want?"
Perfume frowned... She really didn't know very much Japanese at all. She decided to reply in Chinese, hoping the other girl would understand. She said <You, an outsider, defeated one of my clan. In the name of Joketsuzoku, I will have vengeance.>
Rei didn't understand a word, and decided to cleverly retort, "Uh... Okay."
Perfume grumbled, and decided to get the point across with a Japanese word she did know. She pointed her finger at the younger girl, and said, "Kill!"
Rei seemed shocked by this... After all, it wasn't often that someone tried to kill you out of the blue. The more she thought about this other girl's clothing and mannerisms though, she was reminded of Shampoo. She figured it had something to do with that crazy Amazon tribe. She said, "Well I don't know what this is about, but I accept your challenge in the name of Saotome Anything-Goes Martial Arts!"
Commentary:
Jarvis
Perfume, in my opinion, has this one. She has mad skill with her axes and her defense is near impenatrable. Eventually, she will beat Rei with her handy axe-work. If Rei wants to win, she's going to have to find a way to smack Perfume upside the head with her leadpipe.
Spanner
Poor Rei has had it rough this tournament. She was correct in her analysis - she just wasn't ready for the kind of competition offered by the older, more experienced competitors. This fight will be no different. While Rei's Speed-of-Light kick has a chance of penetrating Perfume's iron defenses, the few hits Rei connects with are unlikely to make the difference here, even with Perfume's hypersensitivity. More likely, however, Rei will never land a solid blow, and will soon be overwhelmed by Perfume's lightning-fast attacks. Perfume will be the victor - hopefully, however, she'll figure out that Rei is not Ranma, before it's too late...
Starphoenix
This is too easy. Perfume was able to defeat a Ranma from the beginning of the series, and Rei is less powerful than Ranma was back then (possibly) or seems to be. She doesn't have the skills simply put, and Perfume could use her perfume mixes on Rei if Rei were to go male in the fight. Perfume with a can of whoop ass to Rei.
Hitman 25
Perfume is just stronger, faster, and more developed than Rei. She pretty much has it in the bag.
The Fight:
Perumfe took an agressive start. Fighting against a Kiss of Death opponent with any restraint was likely to be a big mistake. The younger girl didn't seem to be taking the challenge all too seriously, so an agressive approach early on seemed like a good idea. The Amazon rushed forward, and threw several quick punches and kicks.
Rei was forced immediately on the defensive, trying to block or dodge the the flurry of attacks coming her way. Many of them connected, however, and Perfume ended with a strong uppercut that sent Rei flying off of the wall and onto the street below with a loud 'thud.'
The Amazon looked down at her opponent, and wondered how in the world Shampoo was defeated by her. Perhaps, like she had figured, the outsider was not taking this fight very seriously yet. It didn't really matter, in the end, because it was a matter of honor that had to be settled.
Rei looked up at her assailant, and wondered to herself what she had done to anger a powerful martial artist like her. Maybe it had something to do with the time she tried to kill Shampoo a while ago... "Odd," she thought, "I lost that fight. I don't know why they'd want revenge on me."
The young Saotome got back to her feet, and got back into her fighting stance. She realized that this fight would be a lot more serious that she first assumed. Perfume jumped down to the street level, and smiled. Apparently, she was expecting to easily finish this fight.
Rei charged at her opponent, and then leapt high into the air. Perfume recognized this as a challenge to do battle in the air. After charging, she leapt up to fight her opponent. The Amazon threw a kick, which Rei was able to easily avoid by twisting her body in mid-air. All Saotomes were masters in air to air exchanges. When Rei tried to counter-attack, however, Perfume was quickly and easily able to block. Thinking fast, the young Saotome shouted, "Speed of Light Kick!" The kick was so fast that Perfume couldn't block it in time, and caught the foot right in her gut.
The two combattants returned to the ground, and landed. Rei turned around, and saw her opponent clutching the place where her kick had found its mark. Rei thought that her opponent would be mostly uneffected by the attack, but it seemed that she had a somewhat low tolerance for pain.
Perfume growled at her adversary, and produced two collapsable axes from her sleeves, which she un-collapsed and wielded. The Joketsuzoku warrior said, <Now it's serious. You are going to lose.> Rei didn't understand a word of Chinese, but the way the sharp blades of those axes shone in the sunlight, she didn't need to.
The two charged at one another, and when they drew close, Rei punched at her opponent. Perfume quickly brought down one of her axes to block, but Rei pulled her trusted lead pipe from hammerspace and hoped to use it to extend her reach at the last moment. Perfume, with her super senses, saw the pipe materialize in her hand well in time, however, and with a quick slice, disarmed her opponent of her only weapon.
The Amazon immediately began her offensive, swinging quickly at her target. Rei frantically dodged the axes, and was unable to make any sort of counter-offensive. Her opponent's speed was simply too great, and her defenses seemed impossible to break through unless she used the speed of light kick. She shifted her stance in an attempt to use her move, but Perfume recognized what she was doing, and slashed out at her chest. Rei was able to abort her attack and dance back, but the front of her shirt had received a very large cut.
Just then, according to usual Nerima weather patterns, it started to rain. Perfume didn't seem bothered by this at all, but Rei was quickly soaked, and transformed into her male form. She tried to avoid her cursed form at all times, and she knew she'd be unable to fight well in her boy body.
Perfume saw that for some reason her opponent now had black hair, and appeared very afraid. Perhaps she just feared Amazon vengeance... or maybe something was wrong. At any rate, Perfume knew the match was hers. She shouted, "Steel Storm!" And proceeded to slam Rei with the handles of her axes at incredible speed. Normally, she would have used the blades, but something didn't seem right about the whole thing.
Rei was hit full on by the attack, and collapsed quickly, falling unconscious on the street. Perfume paused for a moment to make sure this wasn't some sort of trick on her adversary's part, and then came in to get a closer look. She saw through the tear she'd made in Rei's shirt that her opponent was not female at all. Puzzled, she just shook her head. There was no way Shampoo would be unable to make good on her kiss of death when this was her opponent. Perfume picked up the defeated Rei, and carried her off toward the Nekohanten. She'd wait until her opponent was conscious again and try to find out the truth.

Well... this one was pretty one-sided. There's not much I could do about it, though ^_^ For a long time, Rei had zero votes, so I suppose she was lucky to come off with what she did. Maybe she'll have better luck in the next fight.
