Martial Arts Style: Kendou, or "Japanese Fencing"

Cursed Form: No curse.

Strengths: Over the time he has known Ranma, Kunou has taken a great deal of punishment. He has shown the ability to come back after being beaten down by the pig-tailed girl, which means he has to have built up a considerable amount of endurance. He has the ability to harm opponents with his bokken without even hitting them, since the movement of air caused by his quick strikes can be almost as bad as being hit by the bokken itsself.

Weaknesses: As a practicioner of Kendou, Tatewaki doesn't have a whole lot of experience with hand to hand fighting. If he were to be disarmed in the middle of a fight, he would be rather helpless against a competent martial artist. Also, since he has the ethic of a samurai, he will never fight all out against a female opponent. In addition, Tatewaki has a rather high opinion of himself and his combat abilities this overconfidence has lead him to defeat on many occasions.

Weapons: Tatewaki uses the bokken, or wooden katana as his weapon. By projecting his ki through the weapon, he has been able to slash through concrete walls and thick tree trunks as easily as he could slice through air.

Special Moves:

Kunou has an attack (which seems to be without any name) which he executes by striking quickly in front of him several times. The attack, much like Ranma's Kachuu Tenshin Amaguriken, makes it appear as though several bokkens are striking out at once. Even if an opponent is able to dodge the strikes, the air pressure alone created by each thrust is still enough to do damage to objects in front of Kunou.

In one anime episode, Tatewaki uses an attack called the Senpuu Ken (Whirlwind Strike). Using this attack, he is able to rotate his bokken around quickly enough to create a tornado, which will be strong enough to lift an opponent up into the air, and much like the Hiryuu Shouten Ha, cause them a great deal of pain when they fall back to the earth.
