I have a some interest in genealogy, which is the study of ancestry and family histories. This page only follows one family linage, the Clifton Family (from my Dad's side). I will eventually do one for the Tiemann Family (from my Mom's side) whenever I get more information on them.

First off, if the information I have is accurate, I am a sixth generation Clifton from my great, great, great grandfather James Jesse Clifton; who was born in England and came to America, with his brother George Clifton. They were granted three thousand acres of land by King Charles III of England for services rendered by them. Descendents of James Jesse Clifton stayed generally in or around the low-country of South Carolina.

At this time, I have no ancestry connection with the Clifton Family of Virginia/North Carolina nor the Clifton Family of Texas. However, more research should be done!

Other Surnames with strong relations to Clifton are:  Addison, Altman, Belger, Cook, Harrison, Hoover, James, Langford, Lewis, Pulaski, Stanley, Terry, Thames, Thomas, Tuten and Vaughan.
