Borobudur is about 1200 years
old,- which means it's about 300 years older than the Cambodia's Ankor
Wat,- and about 400 years older than the great European cathedrals!
Here it is,- a man made mountain-,
a replica of the three divisions of the Mahayana Buddhist universe-,
with various levels representing the different "worlds" within that universe!
A look at the square terraces
heavily decorated with reliefs showing amongst other things the life of
Prince Siddharta on his way to become the Gautama Buddha!

Above the square terraces are
three circular terraces with a total of 72 miniature stupas!
Inside each stupa is a Buddha
statue, - as you can see here where the top is missing.
