My Best Friend's Wedding Episode I: No Sleep Til Queens
Well, here I am. Sitting here at work, on my lunch break, updating my webpage. Back to reality, I guess. It feels like an eternity since i've been here at my desk. I've been off work from last Wednesday, June 14 thru Monday, June 19. Pretty long time. And i do have to say, I'm pretty damn exhausted. I don't think i've recovered from the week/weekend's festivities just yet.
Sorry I haven't been updating - but as you will read in a little while - I was very busy all week, and did not have time to update my webpage. This was one of the last things on my mind. I have decided to break up the story of the wedding/events into sections (this one is Episode I) - so as not to bore you all at once. (and besides..i dont think i could type the whole thing today!) So, to keep you coming back, i'll just keep adding more and more episodes every day - all the way up until the wedding. And so the saga begins...
Tuesday 06-13-00, 11:30pm: Been up the whole day. Got home from work, heated up some leftover pizza, started fixing up the rough draft design for the wedding CD cover. Been working/watching TV/chatting on AIM/talking on phone all night. Got call from Dave - finalized a couple more ideas.
Tuesday night/Early Wednesday 06-14-00, 12:00am: He wants some other people in the pictures, so I ask him to scan and send to me. Realize that I really need to start packing and cleaning the apartment - have to pick up friends from the airport at 6:00am. Haven't slept yet. Been busy for 17 hrs straight since I got up for work this morning.
Wednesday morning 06-14-00, 1:00am-4:00am: Talk to Dave a little more about how he wants the final design to look. Got an idea to add their signatures to the inside of the cover. Talking to Adobo on AIM at the same time - he's downloading some full length pr0n (mental note to self: borrow and burn a copy of that movie haha!). Finish the front cover - it's lookin pretty dope. Start working on the back cover now. This is quick, doesn't take but more than 30 mins. Start packing my clothes around 3:00am. Realize that i'm not gonna get any sleep tonight. End up OVERPACKING as usual (3 outfits per day? Hey...ya never know who you'll run into), then clean up the apartment a little bit for the San Fran. visitors. Lay down to take a power nap at around 4:00am.
4:05am - 6:30am (NJ/Philly): Tossing and turning, I realize that this is pointless. Remember to confirm flight info, so I wake up and do that. Lay down again and doze until 4:45am. Wake up, take a shower, iron clothes, and bounce to the airport at 5:30am. The world is very quiet at 5:30am. Very foggy too. Hmmn. I wonder if it's always like this or maybe just today? No traffic to Philadelphia International Airport. I'm tired but wired and excited at the same time. Haven't seen Randy and Joce since last year when I went to SF. They arrive at 6:25. Earlier than scheduled. Cool. I'm all smiles when they walk off the plane. It's really a good |

feeling to hug friends you haven't seen in a while. We laugh and joke around - picked up right where we left off from June 1999. Gotta love that. |
7:00am - 11:45am (Philly/NJ/NYC): Pick them up and drive back to my place. Get some Mc'ds for breakfast, chill in my apt for a bit - take another power nap for about 45 mins - then leave for NYC around noon. Still foggy out. They musta brought the fog w/them from the bay area. ahahah. Arrive at Dave's apt (Queens) around 2pm.
What will they do next?! What happens at the bachelor party?! Limos breaking down in tunnels? Lost rings?! What is this madness?! Tune in tomorrow...same cue-time...same cue-channel...for the next installment in the wedding saga!
