My Best Friend's Wedding Episode II: Spoons and Jasmine
I hope you all enjoyed reading the first part of my story - so to continue...here is the 2nd installment of what happened last week:
Wednesday, 06-14-00 2:00pm-7:00pm: I arrived in Queens, and met up with some other friends there. Did the usual *pound**pound**hug**laugh* that we usually do when we see each other...then went to go grub. Got back and met some more friends that arrived - finally met Rolo from the P.I. (to view Rolo's page go here). He's mad chill. We then bounced to Queens Mall (can you say ghetto fabulous??) so my boy could get a wedding present for his girl. Phat bracelet. (can you say BLING BLING?! mad ICE).
7:30pm: Got back to his place and everyone crashed. My single hour of sleep finally caught up with me and I crashed. I don't even know who was in the bed w/me cuz i was so knocked out. Woke up around 9pm cuz we were supposed to go out - we ended up not goin...ppl too lazy...so i ended up sleepin some more in my other friend's room (ran, your ikea sheets are dopeness.) I just felt like crap. Head pounding, sweaty cuz of the humidity...bad shape. Drifted in and out of sleep hearing ppl cheering watching the Laker game and eating egg-foo-yung. Woke up to see about 10 ppl in the room just watching me sleep. hahahah
11:00pm: Got up and played a mean game of spoons for shots of Absolut Mandarin *gags*. Chilled and talked until late hrs of the night. Lotta flushed red faces in that room that night. Funny shit.
Thursday, 06-15-00 2:00pm: Got a good night of sleep in jersey - had the AC cranked. Showed up in Queens about 4pm - ppl buggin out cuz we had to try on our tuxes and the place closes at 6pm. Please keep in mind that we had to drive across the city to Manhattan in the middle of rush hour. *shakes head* I think EVERYONE in NYC must be crossing the Queensboro bridge at 5:30pm. Got to the tux place around 5:45pm - it was cool. Got all suited up - lookin all James Bond-ish. =)
6:00pm: Jetted across the city (again) to Millenium Hilton, across from the World Trade Center - phat ass hotel where we were gonna have the bachelor party. Our boy Herman the bellhop hooked us up and took care of us all night (i think it was partly cuz of the phat tip he scored). Got up to the room on the 51st floor - HOT. All glass windows...360 degree view of the whole city. 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, big TV, stereo, big ass living room. Found out that Al Pacino stayed in this room for 2 mos when he visited NYC. We were gonna party like rock stars (or should I say porn stars?!).
7:00pm-10:00am Friday, 06-15-00: I'm happy. All the boys show up. Some old heads I haven't seen since 1998 are there. Good turn out. Dave (the groom) has a LOT of friends. Hooked up some pizza for the guys, saw some more visitors downstairs. Got back up, had a few drinks, smoked some cigars and waited for the "entertainment".
NOTE: Due to the explicit nature of the events occuring that evening, not to mention our code of "What happens at the bachelor party STAYS at the bachelor party", I can not disclose any details at this particular time. (side note for the fellas that missed out: just gimme a call or email sometime and i'll tell ya EVERYTHING! mwaahahahaha *evil grin*)
I can say this, however. Everyone had a great time, and it was truly a big celebration of the end of Dave's bachelor days. That is definitely one night that i will never forget for the rest of my life.
Some memorable quotes: (a lot of these are inside jokes - so many of you should just skip over this part.)
- "I didn't hear no bell!!"
- "Eye of the tiger..."
- "is that...Jergens? or Vaseline Intensive Care...?"
- "I wanna get married!"
- "What are you doing with those matches?"
- "Aww boo...i thought we had something here?"
- "I was just getting the ice."
- "I can't run for office!"
- "Awwwh-RITE!"
- "Tell me im the f*ckin' man!" my personal favorite! haha!
(Big shouts go out to all the guys: Ran, Ran, Ben, Jer, Dre, Ray, Jojo, John, Eric, Hung, Bone, Franco, Rob, Rob, Shawn...and everyone else. I gotta give BIG thanks to Riel for pullin' everything off. You are truly "BIG TIME" my brother. The party was off the hizzook!)
That's it for today boys and girls...check back tomorrow to find out what happens at the rehearsal dinner and at the wedding! Guys crying? Naw....couldn't be! Or could it?
