My bad...i should have added this a LONG time ago - but it must have slipped my mind (damn sleep debt!)...i'd like to wish my girlfriend Mimi a big CONGRATULATIONS for graduating with her Bachelor's degree in Nursing on Tuesday. Good job hon! I'm so proud of you! For anyone that would like to wish Mimi congratulations, please feel free to leave her a message in my guestbook (since she doesn't have a webpage) - or you can email her by clicking here.
Onto other things...such a lazy day today...it's a friday...and its gloomy and rainy outside. Not exactly a great start to the weekend, ya know? How can one be expected to look forward to the weekend when it look so *BLEH* outside? It's one of those days where you wish you could just sleep in all day. Unfortunately most of us have to work...and don't have that luxury. =( I'm tired too. Didn't get rid of my sleep debt last nite again. I think i added another 2 hrs to it. That sucks.
Sorry, but I don't have much to say today. Maybe its the weather - not very inspiring?...or maybe its 'cause im half asleep / half awake. I'm in a weird state of mind right now. So i apologize if you came here today to find something intellectually stimulating. Maybe you should check back on Monday.
Before I go...i'd like to just give some quick shouts: to the O.G. husky bway himself, MJ, over there in cali, who is one of the most down-to-earth cats i know; and to Lyne who turns the big 2-2 today! Happy Birthday!

sleep debt
Uhh...i have a small correction to make to yesterday's entry...contrary to what me and Adobo thought, he was NOT banned from accessing his webpage - turns out he accidentally blocked HIMSELF from accessing it. *DOH* (You can get the full details of what happened here). Sorry for getting all political on you guys. =)
Now on to other things. I'm tired. DAMN tired. I think my sleep debt is up to like 20 hours just from this week or something. What's that you say? You dont know what "sleep debt" is? Well...its something i read a long time ago. Theory has it that when you dont get the correct amount of sleep each night, your body builds up a debt..."sleep debt", and for each night that you dont compensate for that debt by sleeping extra - the sleep debt grows larger and larger.
So say you normally get 8 hrs of sleep...but one night you only get 6 hrs...so now your sleep debt is 2 hrs. If you dont get 10 hrs of sleep the next night, the 2 hrs in debt is still there. If you get even less as the week goes on...then the sleep debt becomes bigger and bigger.
So thats why i was saying that i think my debt for this week is like up to 20 hrs...(i only slept 3 hrs monday night, and 7 hrs tuesday night) Maybe im exaggerating about the 20 hrs, but it sure feels that way. I slept 9 hours last nite and i still feel so tired. I think i need to crash for like 14 hours straight - but then my internal body clock will be all screwy and i'll end up getting a headache. i hate when that happens.
Weird though. If you think about that sleep debt theory - then that means if you never compensate for the lost sleep, then it would just keep getting larger and larger...and then you would probably die. heheh. okay. maybe you wouldnt DIE, but you'd probably be like a walking zombie with 10 bags under each eye. I think in the article they mentioned something about the debt going away after a few days. Hmmmn. I wonder how many days/months it would take? I mean..is it like a cars odometer? Once you hit 99999 it just resets to 00000? Considering all the sleep i lost in college, i hope so...otherwise i think im lugging around about 1-2 years of sleep debt =) heheh.
On a completely different note...i saw the weirdest site on the net today...its called The Stinky Meat Project...basically, this guy leaves meat outside on his neighbor's lawn, and documents it every day (for about 2 weeks now). Pretty weird, pretty gross...definitely not for those with a weak stomach. Interesting though...although i was repulsed by the sight of the pictures, I kept wanting to see what happened...go check it out for yourself and see. (when that page loads up i recommend you scroll down and select "DAY 1" to see the whole project from the beginning.)

FREE THE ADOBO BOY!
Another injustice has taken place today...my friend The Adobo Boy, was recently banned from accessing his webpage and the webpage server at Seton Hall. He was not given any notices or warnings, nor was he under the impression that he was breaking any rules whatsoever. I am assuming that apparently the people that govern the Seton Hall computing system thought that the content on his page was "inappropriate".
First, we must consider what is "inappropriate"?? Is one student telling their perspective of the events that go on at their school wrong? Adobo simply displayed his personal opinions/views on his webpage... For example: he did not agree with the supension of his previous roommate for 'so-called hacking' - which incidentally took place without any real evidence or laws in place (pls. check his page for the full details). He also did not agree with the public news statements and the way the University handled such issues like: dorm fires/student abductions/etc...in Adobo's eyes, the university was covering up many serious issues and not telling the complete truth. Adobo's quote on Seton Hall's handling of the dorm fires that killed 3 students: "...SHU also tells half-truths to the media about sprinkler systems in every dorm, during the whole fire tragedy, when really the only sprinklers that exist are the one's in the trash rooms. Hey their not lying, but what the media doesn't know can't hurt..."
Now i dont know about you, but I find it pretty interesting to see what an actual student thinks about all these events - rather than simply getting the "facts" from the news. I thought we were in a country where free speech is a right granted to all citizens by law. Hmmmn. Obviously this isn't the case at Seton Hall. I guess they can do whatever they please, whenever they want. Oh and lets not forget that all of this occurred without ANY prior notice/warnings, and to our knowledge, there was NO violation of any rules.
Stuff like this just really gets me pissed off. The worst part of it is, is that computers and the internet is a whole new topic - and there really arent any hard and fast rules about what is right or wrong...its more like one big gray area. Problem with this is that when authorities "feel" that something is wrong - they can do whatever they want because they are the "authority". How can you be punished for doing something wrong, when it was never clearly defined as *wrong* to begin with?
Sorry to go off on all this. Anyway - no worries because The Adobo Boy will never DIE! ahahah...he's back up at: www.adobo.f2s.com (btw: his page was restored here in a world record 15 minutes!). Please change all your links and bookmarks as necessary.
Thank you for reading. This concludes my public service announcement for the day.

just say NO to IKEA.
Hope yall had a good weekend. Here's my quick weekend summary: saw the wifey fri.-sun., chilled w/my lil goddaughter & parents on fri., had brunch w/my parents on sun. for Mother's Day, & went to a computer show w/Adobo on sun. and bought 2 more case fans to further cool my computer =)
Went to IKEA Saturday and bought MAD shit again for my apt! Damn i swear i feel like im living on page 142 of the catalog. That place is so addictive. I mean...when i first moved into my apt...i kinda went off at IKEA..i was there almost every weekend...i was buying stuff left and right. Everything from coffee tables to window treatments and bowls...(Adobo - pls. spare the gay jokes haha!) Then i kinda got settled in (and a little broke as well)...and haven't went to IKEA in almost 5 months...and then I go saturday...and its like im back on that crack pipe again. The store just sat there like a big, swedish, blue and yellow drug dealer...beckoning me to come inside...
"come inside cue! its been a while! i have new things to show you...nice things....modern things...expensive things to fill your apt...sure, they will empty your wallet, but make you the envy of everyone...c'mon! come take a look...it can't hurt..."
And like Martha Stewart on extacy, there i go...wandering around the store and spending loot again. Funny thing is...my girl only got one thing. (she was the one that was supposed to buy stuff for her new apt)..hehehe and there i was...buyin' 4 more pieces to complete my "KURRS" bedroom set. Pathetic. Must say though...i really like that Piet Mondrian picture I got for my room. =)
[my *DUH* tip-o-da-day]: for those who didn't know this? (like *ahem*MIMI*ahem*)...you can click on most of the colored text (it's a LINK!) and it will open a new window. I also have more links at the bottom of this page...so scroll down.]
