Hello all and welcome to the first issue
of P.Otaku Bytes. This is the first fan magazine for an anime audience
in the Philippines. Despite not being released before Halloween, this issue
was rushed so that you can read it during the first week of November. I
know you’ve already celebrated the Halloween festival but you can always
visit the departed and pay your respects to the dead.
Before you go on, let me explain what P.Otaku Bytes is. It’s an Anime fanzine for Filipinos, much like what the Pinoy_Otaku Mailing List and Web Ring is to their respective formats. This is available online and distributed for free. We earn no money from this but instead like to share our views to the people. I really hope you people would support us. So, what’s in this magazine? Well, we have some great feature articles which I’m sure much of you will enjoy. I’m deeply sorry for the lack of pictures as I’m trying to keep this legal as much as possible and so avoid stealing pictures. However, we have fanart but due to the rush, only the fanworks section had some. Some articles also didn’t make it to print but expect to see a lot more in next issue which is a Christmas special. The month of November also has lots of things in store for Anime fans. New shows are always popping up with the recent showing of Tenchi Muyo and Sailormoon Super S. Also, we can look forward to revivals of previous shows as can be seen with Yu Yu Hakusho and Voltes V. What’s more, we’re all anticipating the Anime that will replace Daimos when it ends this month. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading this mag. If the layout in HTML is terrible, I deeply apologize. I’m getting someone else to do a better job by next issue, hopefully. Don’t be afraid to send comments and suggestions. We’re gonna put up a mail section wherein we can get feedback from you. Tell your friends about us. Let them get to know Anime better. We’re also looking for interested writers. Lastly, I’d like to thank my staff for enduring me. This was all voluntary and I had to put a lot of pressure on them, even though they aren’t getting paid for this. You have my deepest thanks and I hope you can contribute more next issue. Despite what you people say, you are great writers. ^_^ -Ed
