Translation:
Sunflowers lined up on a hill
We did not think twice when our love began
There is no need for goodbye
On clear weather we go out together
There is no need for goodbye
Let's be this way forever
I will never forget our Midsummer's Eve |

Now why would Balat-san choose a song about midsummer on a
December issue? Two reasons: Tenchi Muyo is really cool (although some people might
disagree =P), and this is the closest to a Tenchi Christmas song I can find (I don't have
the Christmas album *^_^); also, it's either this or some Ranma Christmas song; and I
realize that, technically, that's three reasons, not two; and... why am I cramming all of
these in a single sentence? Plus, I think Manatsu no Eve is a nice Christmas movie, even if it DID occur during summer. The Jurai Star Festival with its decorated tree and fireworks and dancing and gifts, Christmas pictures of the Tenchi household, a Santa outfit, and Sasami's promise to Mayuka (she's the new girl!) that they'd spend the next Christmas together (sigh). What could be more Christmas-y than that, ne? Hmmm… I wonder what happened to Mayuka… However, if she's being trained by Ryoko, she'd be another great character (although from what I can tell from the ending video, it's actually Sasami who gets to act as the mother-figure; but doesn't she always?). Anyway, great movie, great theme song! As always, I'm probably not making any sense. But enjoy the song, and have a Merry Merry Christmas, minna! |

Joyce prefers “Balat” than her normal name since it doesn’t sound so average. Also, she would like the white Rei clay model like the one she saw on an EVA picture book. She's the angel-Rei in End of Eva, with the wings and all. Lacking that, she'd settle for the white clay material that they used on Rei, complete with modelling and baking instructions, and a pic of angel-Rei, too. |
