1. Hitomi Kanzaki and Van Fanel
The Good: Hitomi and Van have never been in a true relationship before, so the way they approach their own was very sweet. They started out as wary allies at first, then, when they finally realized that they do love each other, they didn’t hesitate to say it out loud as soon as they knew, instead of hiding and trying to fight it. And since the series talks about fate, and destiny hidden within the tarots, there’s an implication that Hitomi and Van were destined for each other.
The Bad: Hitomi’s from Earth, Van’s from Gaea, and each couldn’t stay in the other’s homeplanet, because Van is needed in Gaea and Hitomi’s the cause of the disorder in it. The unthinkable happens. Unless a sequel follows [editors note: a movie is in the making although it has a separate storyline from the series or the manga] the end of this series, this may be one of the saddest endings of any anime, all the more because you can’t blame the angst on any main or favorite characters dying; just the ending of a romance that barely started at all.
The Good: Yes, believe it or not, Kurama and Botan actually look good together. Think about it...Botan is noisy, cheerful and bubbly whereas Kurama compliments her extrovert personality with his “strong but silent” type personality. And as the saying goes, “opposites DO attract.”
The Bad: Kurama...well technically, he’s alive and Botan...she’s death. Eto...not much of a bed partner ne? But all things considered...they’d really make a wonderful couple but we musn’t forget Koenma-sama.
The Good: Shiine is smart, adept at magic, and head over heels in love with Chacha. Chacha isn’t really too intelligent, loves cute and cuddly stuff, and can barely get her own magic to work. Officially, they’re two of three best friends (Riiya makes up the third other), but not too much romance is emphasized on them (with the exception of Shiine’s daydreams about Chacha), probably because they’re only about seven or eight years old. But enough cuteness factor is present to make Chacha and Shiine a great team.
The Bad: Shiine may be in love with Chacha, but Chacha apparently seems to have more feelings for Riiya. (The fact that Riiya can turn into a cute wolf may be one of the greater reasons in that.) No matter how hard he tries, it doesn’t seem that he can compete. Poor Shiine...
