Brain Powered Hime Model
by "Rex"

Brain Powerd Hime Model Kit Statistics:
1:100 scale, comes with parts for one BP Hime model, one sword, one gun, and one 1:6 Hime figure.

Hello again, fellow modeling fans! :) Due to ahm, assignments and a broken valentine’s heart (ow! That hurts! ;_;), the how to do kits section will be down until next month. I’m sorry, but it’s not my fault! Blame the teachers who are flooding me with assignments, and the jerk who broke my heart, kay? Oh, well. :) For this month, I’ll be doing a review on one of the kits I happen to have, the Hime Brain Powered model.

When I first saw it in the store, nice box and all, I knew I had to have it. I’ve always liked Brain Powered ever since I saw it in Newtype, and I also wanted the challenge of building a non-Eva/non-Gundam model (which I had been building a lot of in those days). So, I sweetly asked the sales lady how much it was, grudgingly shelled out the moolah (it cost me about 500 bucks. Not bad, but I was low on cash at that time), and went home with a smile on my face. After opening it, and drooling over the instruction manual, I got to work. The parts, molded in a flesh-like color was a bit too light for me, so I bought a bottle of Tamiya paint to make it darker. I also noticed that some parts needed a bit of orange and silver colors to make it more detailed, so I got those, too. The parts fit okay, and the kit’s molding was fine, but one part that really frustrated me a bit while I was building it was that the upper hip joint didn’t fit too well with the lower hip. So, sometimes my BP model would just fall down, and I had to re-do it again. :( But, all in all, it was a very nice model, and it even came out beautifully (see picture). Although the kit does come with a tiny Hime figure to complement it, I suggest that you don’t color it unless you’re really good because all the tiny little details will make you dizzy. (That it did to me! ;_;! Agh!)

So, all in all, I think that the kit is worth it, especially for all you Brain Powered fans out there. It gives you a unique challenge (it is very different from Gundam models, which mainly are blocky, and Eva models, which have thin parts) and comes out cool. So, what are you waiting for?! :)

Well, so that’s that. :) I apologize yet again for not doing what I was supposed to do. But I promise that it will be done by the time the next issue comes out. Oh, well. If you have any comments, suggestions, rants, flames, or just want to correct me (if ever there are any mistakes) please mail me at squall_8@hotmail.com. Thanks, and happy Valentine’s Day to all.
