Kusatsu station was the intersection of Tokaido & Nakasendo, which is also one of the five routes starting from Nihonbashi, and this district was very busy. Kusatsu honjin is well preserved, and you can see the inside. In the above Hiroshige's picture, you can see a rice-cake shop called "ubagamochiya." The shop was moved to the other place and are still open.
