When passing through the Hakone Pass, there was a next station, Mishima-shuku (station). Mishima shuku has been famous for Mishima Taisha or Mishima shrine in which Minamoto-no-Yoritomo (who established the 1st feudal administration, Kamakura bakufu in 1192) prayed for "genji saikoo" or reconstruction of his family, genji in the Heian period (794-1192). In old days, there were lots of visitors to the shrine and Mishima inns were very busy.
