THE END OF THE WORLD
Starring
HONAMI SUZUKI - HIROSHI MIKAMI
and /SACHIKO SAKURAI/ETSUSHI TOYOKAWA/KAZUKO YOSHIYUKI
This story involves a woman, Maria, that works atthe Post Office by day and at night
she works as a "bar girl". Her life gets tangledup with a well known concert pianist
when she picks him off the street after he was run overin a hit and run accident.
For reasons never quite explained(i believe) he wantsto give up being a concert
pianist for Maria. His life without the piano doesnot go very well.
There is a long drawn out sub plot about Maria's blindsister and her boyfriend.
Whenever she is on the screen there is cello music playing.
This show especially the first few episodes was compelling. The characters were
deeply troubled. The show has some very good performances. The script was a
well written tale about some very troubled people.
Ms. Suzuki and Mr. Mikami gave performances worth remembering. The only trouble
was that when I tried to watch it a second time, because of thegrizzly nature of some of the
material it is unwatchable to a certain extent.
One last comment is that the theme song pretty good.
Has anyone seen this show ? does anyone agree? disagree pleasewrite!
