SSK Goshin Jutsu - Featured Technique

Goshin Jutsu techniques are designed to be very simple to learn and execute. No wasted actions or fancy moves. If you have a request for a particular type of attack defense or if you would like to contribute a technique to this section, please contact us.

Mugger's Choke Defense

The technique below is excerpted from one of the Sei Shin Kan Jiu Jitsu Goshin Jutsu Manuals, and has been put into an image animation sequence, for Java enabled browsers. Non-Java enabled browsers will see the images in two regular image files.

New - Zoom button added to the Image Animation Program. When in the "paused" or "stopped" mode, click and drag a rectangle within the image; when the mouse is released, the zoom button will become active. Press the zoom button to view the "zoomed" in image of the rectangular area selected. Click on the "Reset" (same as the Zoom button) to restore the image and continue.

Description of the sequence of images:

• Frame 1: Attacker does standard mugger choke attack.
• Frame 2: Defender pushed choking elbow inward and strikes back with an elbow.
• Frame 3: Defender drops down on one knee.
• Frame 4: Defender twists attacker down to the floor.
• Frame 5: Defender punches or strikes attacker.
• Frame 6: Defender applies neck lock with leg and figure 4 armlock at the same time.
• Frame 7: Defender backs away with Zanshin.
