long,with a gross tonnage of 46,328.Death reports varied.A British inquiry reported 1,490
dead,the British Board of Trade, 1,503, and a U.S. Senate investigating committee, 1,517
In 1985, researchers from France and United States found the wreckage of the Titanic.
The team refused to give the exact location of the ship,but reports indicated it was about
500 miles(800 kilometers) south east of Newfoundland.
