Values for the Millennium

If you base your values on man made ideas such as country, language, culture, place of birth etc. then you will have values which are fickle. Because man made ideas cannot stand the test of time. Countries change, governments fall, cultures and languages change, people move from one place to another and what is fashionable today is gone tomorrow. However if you were to base you values on the rhythms of nature such as the Sun rise each day, the full Moon each month, the seasons, the Winter and Summer solstices, the Spring and Autumnal equinoxes - then you will find that your values are always fresh and they are always valid no matter what country or what part of the Earth or what era you are in. Because the cycles of nature naver change and they are based on the Earth and the Sun, the two celestial bodies which create all life. Such values are also environemtally sound as the rhythms of nature are the same for all creatures that live on the Earth.

Thought of the day

In this busy world of ours do you sometimes feel that you are going no where? Well, then consider this. All of us who live on this Earth have a free ticket for an incredible voyage around the Sun which takes a year to complete. Every day salute the Sun as it appears in all its glory and sets again at dusk or Godhuli. Every night view the star clusters or Rasis that we pass through in our voyage. Every month on Purnima behold the beauty of a full Moon as it rises from the cosmic ocean. Enjoy the changing seasons during the year. Welcome with folded hands the Sun back to the North on Makar Sankranti. Welcome the colours of Spring on the month of Phalgun. Say hello to the exotic birds and fragile butterflies returning from their wintering grounds in the month of Sravan. Watch the Sun go South along with the birds and butterflies in the month of Kartik. Relax, turn off the Television, throw away those books and newspapers and enjoy this incredible ride through time and space that no other vehicle can provide. Remember the fastest aircraft travels at 3,ooo miles per hour, the space shuttle travels at 7,000 miles per hour but the Earth travels at 65,000 miles per hour around the Sun.
