Lesson 2: Why Need Forgiveness

Why Do We Need Forgiveness? (by Kuan Yin)

     Why do people need forgiveness? Because people make mistakes!

     Sin: from the Greek: “to miss the mark”
     Sin is that which alienates us from Truth

     It doesn’t matter that we have sinned.
                It matters that we repent and ask forgiveness
     It doesn’t matter that others have sinned against us.
                It matters that we forgive.
     If we do not forgive ourselves we cannot forgive others

God’s Forgiveness

    Sin contains its own judgment (separation from God);
    God does not punish us;
    we punish ourselves

    When God redeems us,
    it is His love liberates us from our egotistical power of sin and isolation

    Love, by nature, is selfless.
    To forgive is to extend love.
    When human beings forgive one another, divine life (love) is manifested
