2 nights ago Andy attended the first Annual Music Awards ceremony in Shenzhen. Andy is v popular in the Mianland, he was a big winner that night. He was crowned the Most Popular Male Singer in HK & TW, alongside Faye Wong who was the Most Popular Female Singer. Andy's album Man Cry Is No Crime also won an award.

Andy was in high spirit. When he was on the stage with Na Yin, he joked, "Na Yin is my idol, I know she'll come, that's why I come tonite." Na Yin followed, "Andy, you're the most popular tonite. How much did you pay to buy those fans to suport you?" Amidst laughter, Andy replied seriously, "We as singers have been cheating people for many years.I hope with this honest Awards ceremony tonight, everyone will sincerely work harder from now for good music, to give back to those who support us." The audience gave him full applause.

Andy's mood was not affected by the recent newspapers report. he happily received the awards & faced press interview.

When asked abt Zhu Liqian, as usual, he said, "I wont answer."

But when he was asked abt the 5 yr-old daughter, he smiled, "I'm not married, where to get a 5 yr-old daughter?" Andy said he is always open & above-board with all his doings, if he finally marries one day, or has become a father, he will tell everybody. He will share his happiness. There is nothing to hide in getting married or having children.

Andy said initially he did not wish to clarify. When he was seen with a man, he was rumoured to be a gay, when he was with a lady, there will be rumours of a love affair.

What Andy worried most now is actually not the rumour abt him having a daughter, it is the rumour abt his female assistant called Emily.

Emily, aged 20+, a Shanghainese, is a financial & banking consultant, introduced by Mrs Heung to work for Andy. Unknowingly she was suddenly tailed by the paparazzi lately & had been photographed. Andy said Emily is his working consultant, giving him advice on investments, including his andylau.com partnership with CCT. She had given Andy invaluable advice. Next year Andy intends to film 8 to 10 movies, he will also consult her. Maybe because of the frequent meetings lately, thus leading to the misunderstanding. He hopes everybody will not try to make news out of no news.

Andy stressed that Emily is just a working colleague. On her bday, he went & gave her a present out of courtesy. Andy said he did not stay nor shook her hand or kissed her good-bye. Even if the paparazzi had photographed, there is nothing to see.

Andy continued that lately Emily is v afraid to meet him, When he called her, she would cut off the line quickly. Andy appealed to the reporters that they do not follow her anymore, otherwise he will have no one to consult on business matters. He may have to resort to asking for divine help in business matters.

After the Awards ceremony, Andy went back to HK for the praying session of the new movie 'Fat Man & Woman'.

Andy will act as a 250 pounder in this movie. He had tried the make-up before, he joked that he has to sacrifice his look this time for art.

How much time will be taken to do the make-up? Andy said at least 3 to 4 hours. But as to how it was done, Andy said it is trade secret.

During filming, he would wear a 'mould', the mould weighs abt 150 lbs. Later he will learn how to walk like a fat guy. Andy said that his work is abt 8 hrs a day, after 3, 4 hrs of make up, he actually works 5 hrs, so it wont be too tiring.

Despite his clarification in Shenzhen, there were still a lot of reporters staking outside his house. Andy said he knew they were waiting but he pretended not to know, as it is their duty to do so. He may want to video them & put them up on the net.

As his house is still under renovation, he has shifted to his mother's unit to stay. He clarifies that he is not trying to dodge the reporters.

21/4---Went to Shenzhen today, but as there was some work to be done tonite, so a gp of us, set off in the afternoon, after finish the work, nite time came back for home in HK, really come & go in a rush...........rush........

Andy Lau's personal assistant Kah Lie berated from HK,"Andy has no illegitimate daughter! Whoever says so bring out the proof."

Protecting boss as she should be, when Nanyang Siang Pao reporter contacted her, Kah Lie appeared to be agitated, she pre-stated her position, "I dont represent the response!" But when she was asked if Andy has a 5 yr-old daughter, she couldnt control herself, she threw a rage & scolded, indicated that this was HK 'ba-qua' news, asked if it is necessary to continue asking true or not.

She said, "Simply took a picture & said it is his daughter, this is really too ridiculous, is there any proof, bring it out!"

Reporter (R): Then, whose child is it?

Kah Lie (K): How would I know?

R: Is Andy beside you? What was his reaction after knowing the news?

K: He is not here. There is no reaction, whether know or not. He already knows this is Ba-qua news, used to it, this is v common, HK reporters always do these.

R:Since this is not true, will he counter attack, to sue them or openly clarify?

K: (again agitated) No such necessity, dont need to clarify or sue, why should, they created something from nothing, what is there to clarify?

R: Then, does silence mean admitting?

K: (answer coldly) No. Just dont wish to play with them.

She indicated finally that there is no need for anyone to talk more, it will become more & more 'blacken'. After taking to the reporter what she wants to say, she cooled down at closure of conversation.

Actually, whether Andy has no daughter or not, when compare to Alan Tam, there is so much similarities. There is this saying children are what all man wants, this is normal. Is it true or false? There is nothing out of ordinary.

Waiting for good news

Has Andy got a child? For those who hear this news, comments are more of congratulatory him than anger.

A: Should have it long ago, it is already so long, nothing surprising.

B: No surprise, Alan Tam alreday has a son. Not sure if it is Andy purposely leaking out news, allowing reporters to take the photo, then slowly release the news. This is the style of movie stars in making of news, should be true.

Truely speaking, since Andy had admitted in silence that Zhu Liqian is a member of his family, Zhu LIqian after so many years of waiting, finally sees the sun! 14 years of emotion finally sees result, having a loving kid or 2 is believable. Both of them are so loving, further more Andy loves children, having your own, is all that man wishes.

Other than this, we can understand Andy's assistant protectiveness to her boss. If ever one day Andy finally has a reunion with his family, I think this is also what the fans would like to see, so be open with it! Or maybe this is just a misunderstanding, the child's father is another person, but we are still waiting for the good news, including Andy's wedding date.

20/4---Not much work today. Only film Yu & I. But as the work started from eraly morning till evening, today was filming gun-shot scenes, I had to carry heavy gun to film a whole day. V heavy.......hands a bit tired.........

Despite being busy with the film You & I, Johnni To is drawing up plans for the next movie 'Thin Man & Lady'. On the cast make-up for the 2 leads, Andy Lau & Sammi Cheng, Johnni To expressed his satisfaction, he said the make-up was almost to perfection.

Special Effect expert Steve was employed to design the fatty looks for Andy & sammi. The cost for the make-up alone reached a hefty US$800,000 (HK$6.4 mil), production cost for the whole show is nearing HK$28 mil.

Johnni To said the first impression of Fatty Andy gave him a deja vu feel, it reminds him of Chang Yin Cai & Theng Kwang Yong. However, the fatty looks are still kept under wraps.

Johnni denied this comedy movie is a continuation of Needing U. He said they are of 2 separate stories. Andy has to film You & I & this movie, will it be too taxing for him? Johnni replied that Andy is a famous Iron-man, he can withstand hardship.

The movie is produced by China Star. China Star is filming 2 other movies slated for release in Summer holidays.

Johnni commented that of the many summer holiodays movies, he feels 'Shu San Legend' starring Ekin Cheng & Zhang Ziyi will be a hit.

Andy was filming You & I yesterday. On his new look in the movie, Andy joked that it was based on Johnni To's frame, so he shall imitates the way Johnnie wipes his sweat with the hanky & the way he smokes. He will have many pounds added to his body, is there any discomfort? Andy said this fatty body is designed by the specialist after taking some measurements, so it is v matching, but as long as the script is good, he wont mind working hard! After the make-up, his thigh becomes 32" in girth!

The reporters tried to ask Andy on the news of Zhu Liqian & a small girl , his assistant replied that he wont answer such questions.

Min Shen Pao reporter contacted Andy thro phone yesterday evening. Whe asked how he was lately, Andy was quick & answered that he had read Sudden Weekly, & said many reporters had asked him this question in the afternoon while he was filming, his stance is 'No comment', he will not talk on the matter.

HK govt is spending HK$8 million to hold 'HK Nite' in Cannes Film festival to showcase its movie industry. It is a pity that heavyweight such as Chow Yun Fat, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh, Maggie Cheung will not be attending. Only Andy Lau, Michellie Reis, Christy Cheung Stanly Tang & a few others have confirmed the attendence.

Cannes Festival will be from 9th to 20th May. To promote HK movie industry, HK is sending its largest mission to Cannes.

It is organised by Trade Development Council of HK. Letter had been sent to Maggie Cheung, Tony Leung, Stephen Chow, Chow Yun Fat, Jacky Chan, Sammi Cheng, Michelle Yeoh, Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui, Ekin Cheng, Cecilia Cheung et al. But hey have all turned down the invitation quoting busy as reason.

Yeterday TDC together with HK Movie Productions Association held a press con. On the rejection by the heavyweight stars to attend, the spokesman said their intention is to promote HK movie industry, whetehr the stars attend or not is secondary.

Other than 'HK nite', there will be a HK Movies Parade to screen many HK movies. Many movies business persons from around the world will be invited to attend. HK govt has in the past few years support HK movies fully, spending so much money this time is to further its support!

Ah Hu is one of the 17 movies to be screened.

The rumpoured gf of Andy Lau, Zhu Liqian always lies low. She was spotted by a magazine taking Andy's niece out for movie during Easter Holidays. They were accompanied by Andy's assistants & her friends, watching movie Master Q2001 in Tong Lor Wan.

Their trip was a happy one, until camera-sensitive Miss Zhu noticed the presence of the media. She quickly stopped a taxi & went back to Kadoli Hill. Security in Kadoli is v tight, but when she arrived, the taxi could just enter without stopping, presumbly she had called the security on her way home. As for Andy's niece, she was taken away by Zhu's friend.

Accordingly, this cute littel girl is the daughter of Andy's younger brother, she is the apple of the eyes in the family, everyone dotes on her. Andy always asks his driver to send her & his father around. Since Andy likes small children so much, he might as well have one himself!

19/4---Actually today has to shot You & I, but maybe the director failed to plan my part, so today 'activity' called off, real good..............! For nothing have one extra holiday, of course need to arrange waht to do. Go back to office for a surprise check. Haha......haha!
Actually want ot see in the office, if there is anything need to be decided by me.
As I will be busy for a while in my shooting of movie, maynot have time to go back.

Brought a small girl to watch movie

It is always rumoured that Zhu Liqian & Andy Lau were registered in Canada in '92. In '98, it was even rumoured that they have a daughter. Whenever Andy was asked about his relationship with Zhu LIqian, he neither denied or admitted. But lately, their relationship has become more open, Andy even said smilingly, "This is not a scandal, it is a family affair..." Is he acknowledging in silence this lady who has been supporting him quitely behind him for the past 14 years?

On 11th April, Sudden Weekly spotted Zhu LIqian in Tong Lor Wan New York cinema watching movie. She was with a group of friends & Andy's assistants. There was also a girl aged about 5, the look resembles Zhu Liqian. Zhu Liqian deployed 4 ladies to cover her. Out of the 4, 2 were Andy's assistants. Looked like their relationship is very close.

During this Easter Holidays, many parents take their children to watch movies. Zhu Liqian who is always in low profile, also took this holiday opportunity, together with her friends, Andy's assistant, & a small girl, to watch the movie Master 2001, a movie suited for young & old.

That night, at about 10:15pm, Zhu Liqian & frinds in Andy's nanny car were at a lane near NY cinema. The group of 6, hurried down the car, walked quickly to the cinema. The movie started at 10pm, looked like the group purposely went in 15 min after the start of show.

Of the 6 people, there was a Filipino maid bringing a small girl aged abt 5, she looks v cute & pretty, & abt 80% like Zhu Liqian. The most puzzling thing is, Zhu Liqian kept a distance from this small girl, she walked alone ahead of the others. But she kept turning back to look at the little girl, appearing v anxious.

After entering, though the group sat in a row, Zhu Liqian & the little girl sat apart at both ends. Zhu Liqian was so careful as to keep a distance from the girl all the time, it was really puzzling.

After the show, Zhu Liqian also waited for the other audience to leave first before she left the cinema slowly. Initially, the group of 6 were standing together by the roadside waiting for the car, but the moment Zhu Liqian spotted the reporters, she was v nervous/anxious & kept making phone calls. Before Andy's nanny car arrived, she left the litle girl, together with Andy's assistant, they jumped onto a taxi, in a fast speed, returned to Andy's Kadoli's residence. Zhu LIqian was v vigilant in arrangement, called home to Andy's family to open the gate beforehand, so the taxi could just shoot in, completely shutting the reporters out.

The little girl held by one of Zhu's friend, walked quickly into the crowd & disappeared in to the busy street.

Nany car carried the niece

Andy is always v caring to his family. In '88, he bought a 2,000 sq ft apartment in Kadoli to stay with his aprents. In '95, he bought the adjoining unit. The old unit was given to his parents, one sister & his younger bro's family. The new apartment is the love home for him & Zhu Liqian.

Accordingly, Andy is very loving to his younger brother, he intended to let him do business in China. Other than this, his younger has a daughter aged abt 5. Andy who always like small childeren, loves this niece very much. Sometimes he will asked his assistants to send Papa Lau & this niece in & out. Andy's niece resembles Papa Lau. This girl & the girl brought by Zhu Liqian each has her own loviness.

All along, in the movies, Andy always acted in casual roles with character. Seldon he acted as a father. But lately in movies, in selection of roles, Andy has made some changes. In many movies, such as A True Mob Story, Ah Hu, he repeatedly appeared as a doting father. He really enjoys his role as a father.

Other than this, Andy who always shows concern to female fans, last few years has turned his target to small children, he actively participate in promo activitis involing children. Everytime he sees children, he will hug them, exuding his doting father look, looks like he is really wishing to be a father.

Wants 2 girls & 2 boys

Actually Andy has v strong family values. In all his previous interviews, he has indicated his desire to get married. But he is too career-minded, so in this matter, his wife has to be completely accommodating to him. He promised he will have children, & even hopes to have 2 boys & 2 girls to make up the 2 words of 'Good' [Hao] in Chinese.

In reality, for many years Zhu Liqian has fully completely become his idealistic woman. She is not after status, she supports him quitely from behind. She takes care of his business. Zhu Liqian has always think for Andy, she of course knows Andy's eagerness to become a fthaer, & gives him descendants!

18/4---Almost midnite when we started filming last night. Today has no activity, because thought last nite filming would last a whole nite. But actually had only one scene, never thougth could knock off at 2+am. Real good...............!
Dont think I can skive today, other than going back to office for meetings in the afternoon, night time have to do recording for my new Mandarin album. Really fullfilling!

The last time Andy came to M'sia to promote his album was for World's No.1. If he could come this time, it must be great news for the fans.

17/4---Filming continued to use Japanese for dialogue. After so many days of hardwork memorising the lines in Japanese, never known just a word from the director, "Plaese say the lines faster." all those that I need to say, thought had memorise them at tip of fingers, all completely forgotten.........
Ai........! I really have to reassess my lauguage capability!

2 nights ago, filming crew of the movie starring Andy & Takashi Sorimachi, You & I, was shooting at a tea house in Saigon.

Many spotslight were set up outside the tea house which was facing a road. A white Nissan Skyline sportcar swirled suddenly on the road & hit one of the lights, which was thus broken.

A burly man stepped out of the car & created trouble, he summoned 10 over friends over as reinforcement, seeking a compensation of $100,000. The movie company finally called the police.

The police arrived at abt 12:30 am. 2 policemen interrogated a worker & those involved in the incident. They stayed for one over hour. The driver & his men who gathered at the scene,under coaxing of the police, left the place soon after.

Filming carried on as usual after that.

Takashi Sorimachi was in the tea house all the time, he was not informed of the incidence.

The reporter contacted Johnnie To yesterday. Over the phone he confirmed that he did called the police while filming in Saigon 2 nights ago, but it was just a small matter.

Someone asked for a compensation of $100,000 as damage to the car, will the company pay him? Johnni To answered, "As far as I know, there is no compensation. The car was not spoilt at all. After the police had come, there was no more problem, so we carried on filming." He added that they had to call the police as the other party damanged their light & yet demanded compensation, it was unreasonable.

After so many days of filming, Andy, Takashi & Lin Xinlei acted opposite each other for the first time. Lin was the lady involved with the 2 male leads. First time co-acting with Japanese idol Takashi, Lin was happy yet had some regret. She said in the movie she had a kissing scene with Andy, though she had hugged Takashi, she was pushed away immediately. She said it was not more than 3 secs, there was no feelings at all.

Recently the writer had heard that Andy had some differences with the cooperation with his partner Li Xiao Lin, he intended to pull out his stake at nmg, leaving nmg to Li. Actually nmg & TeamWork are repeatitive in the work. Some decisions made by nmg Andy was not too sure about. So in order not to sour the relationship, Andy willingly wants to withdraw his shares.

16/4---Today also quite free, has work only in the evening, but what to do in the afternoon.........of course comes a small rest, conserving & building up energy is more realistic. Again put myself into filming of You & I. Be a killer with character for all to see.

Many artistes who had gone overseas for the 4-day Easter hoildays had returned yesterday. Spotted at the airport yesterday was Takashi Sorimachi. He was actually in HK last Saturday but had gone back to Japan even with only one day holiday, he has come back for the filming of You & I.

He appeared relaxed & was friendly to the reporters at the airport. Last Saturday he had gone to see horse racing with Wong Jin & Nat Chan & won some money. But Takashi is definitely not one who likes gambling, he told Andy that he would like take a look at the race course, Andy had thus asked Nat Chan to accompany him...

15/4---Hardly had a day to rest, stay at home to clear up the mass left after renovation. Though a lot has been kept in the storeroom, still must arrange those clothes that are often worn & daily necessities. To put them in a space which is 10 over times smaller than before, really has some difficulty! Not talking any more, still busy!

14/4---Today is Good Friday holiday, no one goes to work in the office, but no rest for me, still need to work hard, working on my new album, production is stringent, time is packed, no choice la.
[Dear Andy, I work on public holidays too...]

Andy was in Singapore lately to film You & I. The weather was good in the first few days of arrival. As such, filming crew had not worried about problems with weather. But on a day when they had to take an outdoor scene, the initial sunny weather took a sudden change, it became laden with dark crowds, alternatingly sunny & rainy.

When it was not rainy, the crew took some shots. They stopped when it rained. The weather was just unpredicatble & change was so sudden. Andy was busy discussing with Johnni To to see if the shots they had taken could join because of the backdrop weather change.

The rain beccame heavier, the crew had no choice but to stop filming. It was an extra half day holiday for them, but the director had a headache to re-locate time to film this shot.

The crew 'blamed' Andy, an important person, for inviting the rain. Andy joked that the crew who set up props had to get a date with The Sun next time, they should not take shots of him secretly, this will irritate him & he becomes temperamental.

HK had the unusual sight of hailstorm on the same day, Andy said they were lucky to have avoided it, they could still take some shots while the weather in all other places were bad.

13/4---After returning to HK, started work right away, back to office for meetings lah....
All about things concerning movies, webpage, albums etc:
productions of the new album, other than adding in lyrics, of course must do recording. Actually for every song, during the production process, the lyrics will be changed at the same time as it is recorded, just to make sure every song is to its perfection. So just one song itself, need to spend few hours, or even a whole day to complete.
Also on the work regading the movie....all in all, it is non-stop busy.

12/4---My recent S'pore trip, though v packed, & work quite tough, but had tasted quite a lot of favourite local dishes, such as ;'laksa', 'Hainanese Chicken Rice' , Ba Kuet Teh' [pork-rib herbal soup] etc, also 'Xiang You Tiao', which I havent eaten for a long time, really 'good' ya!

The last shooting in S'pore was done in a peripheral TV Studio in Tuas. The scene was abt Andy who acted a a killer. After receiving a task, he drove the bike in full speed to a Thai police station, killed his target, & casted a few bombs in the police station before he fleeced for his life.

These few minutes of actions took a whole day to complete, but the explosion was over with only one take in the evening.

To look realistic, the studio was decorated to be like a Thai Police Station, a few Thais nationals were recruited as temp actors, one street was changed to be like a Thai market, with a few stalls selling Thai products.

Andy looked cool with his killer attire, complete with dark sunshades.

The initial plan of shooting for 12 days in S'pore was shortened to 7 days. Sources said this was because certain props were not allowed locally, so it was changed to be filmed in HK.

Alan Tam & Andy will both hold concerts in Aug. When contacted, Andy said, "Sorry for the fans, they have to rush both sides! We have our own work, hope everyone does well!"

Andy was welcome home in HK airport by abt 40 fans yesterday.

While in S'pore, Andy took time off to watch a show. He said, "Though I havent prepared for my concert yet, when I have time, I will watch other people's show, to get some ideas!" He lamented that he couldn't attend the awards dinner held by HK govt 2 nites ago.

Andy was crowned Best Actor in Golden Bauhinia Awards with the movie AFB recently, he is nominated for the same award in the upcoming HK FIlm Awards. At the 7th Blockbuster Awards, he won Best Actor Award (HK & TW), Andy said he treaured every bit, every drop of love & recognisation given to him, he thanked all the support given to him by all on Earth!

11/4---After work yesterday, took time off to watch a mime show, a few actors acted as the clowns. It was made up of a few different stories. Each has its own merits, towards the end they even set off a few large balloons, the audience all stood up, together we passed the balloons, the atmosphere was v warm, everyone had a relax & happy evening.
