Post-HK Film Awards Celebration party was held at Regent Hotel. The focus for all was obviously the newly-crowned movie King Andy Lau.When he arrived, he opened the top of nanny car, to wave to the many reporters & fans who turned up earlier to congratulate him.
Many & many stood to watch, fans screamed & shriked, as if to vent thier years of frustration for Andy to win the award. Andy seemed overwhelmed, holding the statuette & opening champagne, slowly he went round the palce, his eyes shining brightly, thanking everybody, his pose & style was just like a newly-elected president. After opening the champagne, he went to the hotel with the help of security guards who helped to clear the way.
At abt midnight Andy went home. Outside his house many tens of fans had already gathered, they came with cakes & champagne, they held an instant small-scale party for Andy. As it was late at night, Andy kept telling them not to raise their voice so as not to bother his family. The fans stayed for abt 10 mins, Andy promised to have a party with them when he is back from Beijing.
After home for abt 15 mins, Andy left his house again in nanny car. To shake off the reporters who were following closely, his car roamed abt aimlessly until it reached the underwater tunnel where it went out of sight! Believed that Andy was going for some parties & wished not to be disturbed.
Andy said he is most happy not because of the award, but the trophy & a joint-wishing card he received from the media. He said he went blank on the stage, & took a while to calm down. Asked if he will have insomnia that nite? He replied," Tonite nobody will let me sleep, at least 8 to 10 parties to attend." After 20 years in showbizz before he got the award, does he feel HK movie owes him something? "No, HK movie industry nurtures me..."

The reporter expected Andy's fans will meet him outside his house, true enough, many gathered to party with him, it was v heartwarming & touching. The fans give him unswerving love. Remember years ago when Andy lost at Jade Solid Gold Most Popular Male Singer award, the fans were also waiting outside his house to console him. Years apart, same place same time, the atmosphere was entirely different, now is 100% merriment.

...Andy ever jokingly said that after getting Best Actor award, he will disclose his g-f & get married. Now Andy has got the award, will he really openly disclose his g-f?
Yesterday in the evening, Andy flew from HK to Beijing to film a drink commercial. Before he boarded the plane, the reporter from TW interviewed him thro' phone, when asked abt this, he became 'amnesic', saying he didn't say so, he is one who will get married, but not now.
Waited for 20 years to get the award, Andy is happy, at the post award party, his phone rang non-stop, every 5 min there was call from different parts of Asia, he received as many as 800 over congratulatary calls, this clearly shows Andy has good relations with many at all times.
Andy who does not usually drink, at this nite, he was one cup of champagn after another, Andy said he was merry at being 'tipsy', his fans were even happier.
Andy who is hardworking, flew to Beijing, in the coming months he will have concerts in Mainland. His new Mandarin album may be release in June.

19th HK Movie Awards ended successfully last night at the Coliseum. The results can be described as 'everybody is happy', esp Andy Lau, who has waited for 10 over years & is a hot fave, finally has his dream fulfilled, first time experiences the taste of being a movie King. He was awarded Best Actor for his role in Running Out Of Time.
Andy has gotten countless of awards before, but this is the first time he gets a movie award, on the stage while giving his thank-you speech, he was chocked with emotion, both his eyes were red, with tears shimmering, Sandra shoted from behind, "Andy don't cry!" All of Andy's supporters down the stage cheered him on.
After 20 years in movie circle, filming abt 99 movies, Andy described he feels like graduation, added he will go against tradition, inatead of increasing his fee, he will decrease it by $20,000.
Johnny To won Best Director award for the movie 'Lun Huo'. This is the first time he attended HK Film Awards, asked if he knows he will win that's why he attended, he denied, saying the organiser is good in keeping secret. he added he is most happy because Andy won the award.
Ann Hui joked when she gave out the awards, saying, "The whole night I'm v scared, I'm scared if Andy doesn't win, there will be a riot." This shows the amt of support Andy gets.
Hopping Andy to win seems to be the expectation of all. The award was given out by 3 ladies, namely Sandra Wu, Carina Lau & Faye Wong. The trio appeaed overjoyed & shrieked on reading the result, Wu smiled, "Ladies & gentleman, hot from oven movie King goes to the most handsome, blond-haired----Andy Lau!" The other nominees Anthony Wong, Wu Zheng Ye hugged & congratulated Andy. With backgroung music, Andy in high spirit, as if receiving the Oscar, bowed & sent flying kisses to all.

On the stage, Andy hugged Sandra & danced 2 big rounds. Andy was overwhelmed with words, the audice reacted by giving him continuous loud applause. Andy said, "I wish to thank Xia Mong, who brought me up, Ann Hui, Johnny To, friends who have called in since 9am, those up there, & fans outside." Andy looked at Mrs. Heung, "Many thnks, Mrs Heung, really many thnaks..."
After some courtesy speech, Andy joked, "Do I sing song on winning the award?"
Andy's father called him at the first release of news, Andy was heard saying," I got it! I'm coming home ...."
When Andy was giving out tht Best Actress award, he said that if he did not get the Best Actor award, his expression will be the most real, as he is used to losing, but the history may have to re-write.
At the backstage when Andy's name was announced, all the reporters were in jubilation, all the workers were clapping & screaming, in everybody's eye, Andy is the real winner of the day.
The reporters who are always supportive to Andy, worried that Andy may again lose the award this year, they had specially made an award for him, with 'Best Actor---Andy Lau' engraved on it. This shows Andy is indeed a v lovable person.
Though it costs $300, it means a lot to Andy, he is v thankful to his media friends. When he took photo with Lo Lan on the stage, he held onto this award, the one given by HK Film Awards was left on the table, he is v appreciative to the well-wishers .
Asked abt his feeling with the award, Andy "...ummm, man is always like that, when he got it already, he will just ...ummm, & hopes to get another one."
Andy said he has never said he will disclosed his romance on winning the award, it was the media who says so, he will adopt a natural course.
Andy who is always generous, has said he will give treat to all HK reporters & his fans, looks like he has to make some plans....
Andy is going overseas to film commercial, the celebrations will be later when he is back!....

Tonight is HK Film Awards ceremony, Andy who is a favourite nominee, went to Commercial Radio Stn as guest in a programme opening (???Pretty Hungry Home) yesterday afternoon. He drove the car himself, appeared v relaxed, he went to the roof top to fly paper aeroplanes with the 2 hosts .
They were competing who could fly the plane longest in the air. The plane folded by Andy personally flew for only abt 2 seconds, far from World's record of 30 secs!
After that he drove the car to AWC office for the charity auction. This activity was only opened to AWC members, no reporters were allowed in or to take photos.
Many items were put up for sale, most were Andy's daily wear, including shirts, jeans & bags The most special ones were those he wore at the Awards ceremonies. Some of these items were also Andy's favourites, & some are still being used fondly by him, esp shoes & bags. Andy had a tough time selecting the items for sale, he found it hard to part with some, he selected the items himself throughout the night, finally he packed up abt 20 boxes of items, abt 1/3 of his belongings. He parted with his faves as he knows the fans will like those items.
There were 40 pairs of shoes put up for sale.
Andy said he will not put up his undergarments for sale. It is said these items are hot fave (....yup!!!), Andy laughed. Since there is no chance to get his personal close-body items, the fans have to buy the swimwear. But the swimwear is not the triangular type. Andy said he wore it only during sun-bathing, the item up for sale was longer, to the thigh!
The response was v good from fans, the higest bid of the day was Full Throttle garb, hitting $12,000. The suit wore by Andy during the Outstanding Young Award ceremony fetched $6,500, the siglet-swimwear Andy wore at You Are My Dream MTV fetched $1,800.
The proceeds from the sale all goes to Andy Lau Charity Fund.
As this sale is exclusively for fans, Andy will hold another sale/auction to the public at a later date. The date has not been fixed, the items will be a bit different, it will be more practical, compared to the present one which is more memorabilia.

Results of the internet voting organised by RTHK were out yesterday. Andy Lau tops the list of My Most Favourite Actor category, he is the most loved of moviegoers. Running Out Of Time was one of the Top 10 movies, & is the winner of Most Creative Movie category.
Andy was interviewed by the stn thro' phone. He said he is interested to co-act with Cecilia Cheung in a comedy titled 'Second Love' as Cecilia always gives the impression as the second love on one's love interest list. Cecilia laughed at the joke, though she was sick, & said she will like to try the role.

Despite his busy schedule, Andy attended Applause Pictures opening ceremony yesterday to convey his congratulations. This is new movie company set up by Chen Ge Xin (Wu Jingru's b-f), Chen De Shen & Feng Yi-ching with an investments of 70 million to film its first 4 movies.
Andy's arrival cause an immediate stir. When told he is the winner of Best Actor category in many public polls, he laughed heartily, " I like to thank everybody, lately I have put in a lot of effort on movies, if people can support & accept me, it will be like a booster jab for me to spur on, I'll continue to work hard." ( HK Film Awards is just 2 days away, any preparation,or stress?) I don't prepare & I've no stress, if ever I get the award, I'll be too happy for words, it may not be me, but I've confidence. (Will you bring your parents along?) No, I may disappoint them. (How will you celebrate if you win?) Hope Mrs. Heung can give me a treat. (Any treat for the reporters?) What do you all like to eat? Anything! Just say I give treat."
One reporter said she wished to go to his house for the treat, so as to meet Zhu LIqian. As there were too many people crowding around him he did not hear & left in a hurry, saying he was busy.
Andy was also asked if he will cooperate with this co? He said he will not ruled out any possibility of cooperating with any co.
Yesterday was Eric Tseng's b'day, the organiser prepared a cake for him, he was asked abt his b'day wish . He said he wished movie industry can be as booming as in the '80s, & personally he wished he could win the Best Actor Award together with Andy Lau.
Star East is currently planning a website for Leon Lai, it is said to counter Andy's. When told abt this, Andy replied," I am happy to become the target of contend!" Asked if he will add more contents to his site, he said his site is already v powerful!
On his court case with Heng Seng Bank, Andy clarified that they are waiting for futher date on the case, there is no out-of-court settlement.
Andy will start filming in July.

12/4---Today I go to the opening of a new shop, called Overheads. The owner is a young man who has his dream come true to own a shop, beautiful shop, everyone can take a look. Have meeting at night, after that have dinner, return home, that's how I passed the day.
P.S---received 2 mails from members, talking abt the happenings on Energy Tour the other day. Not to worry evrybody, I have already cool down, please dont take this to heart, what is over is over!!!! Hope you can be like me, happily pass every single day!!!! Andy

Ming Pao HK Film Awards votting on the net is over with a total of 1055 votes. The Best Actor of choice is won by Andy Lau, for his role in Running Out Of Time, he secures over 90% of votes to emerge as winner, leaving the other 4 with v insignificant votes.
...In the Best Movie category, Running again won by over 90% of votes, this movie with a box-office collection of $15 million, clearly becomes winner in both boxoffice & rave reviews.
HK Films Awards will be held on the 16th 8pm, by then we shall know if there is a difference in professional selection & public's choice.
Andy laughed on hearing this, he said he is happy, as all webpages seem to vote for him, this shows he is the one recognised by all, & people are beginning to accept his acting, & giving him encouragement, he promises to work hard slowly, hopes to move the professionals one day, & recognise his acting. As to being liked by so many, he extends his millions of thanks to all, this will boost his confidence in his endeavour in movies.
Will this increase his confidence in this year's HK Film Awards? Andy admitted, "Must have some confidence, but not increased because of this voting results!" He laughed that he take it as he has already won. He added that he has opportunity in future even if he lose this time.
Andy feels that Anthony Wong is his greartest opponent, as his acting is more wholesome, taking each role separately, such as acting as triad member, he may be able to fight with him in this role, but if acting as a Godfather, he wont be able to do better than Anthony, Anthony has gone thro' all movie roles, overall he is better, he is good even in artistic movies.
Andy is a winner in multiple singing awards, only in movie that he is yet to be recognised, it it his greatest 'hatred'? Asked the reporters. Andy think for a while, " I like Cash Awards the most!" He is such a joker!

Andy went to his good friend Ah Bao's new shop opening yesterday at Tong Lo Wan Overheads shops. Not only he went personally to congratulate, he bought a toy rightaway & helped around, he is a real friend indeed.
Andy does not have a share in the shop, as his hands are full now with his own movies co, his music & website, & has no time for other business.
A report from Mainland said that A-rated artistes from HK, TW have dropped their fees for concert performance in order to get the approval document first, thus snatching the opportunity of the local B-rated singers. The singers' fee have dropped by 20%, quotating Chang Hui-mei dropped hers from 3,8 to 3 million, Andy Lau from 2.8 to 2 million, so as to get the approval letter. On hearing this , Andy said, " Impossible, this is not a true figure, my concert fee is never singled out individually, it is computed from production & concert fee together, 2 million a concert is impossible, HK is $800,000 a night, the figure for Mainland is unbelievable." He added his figure is not even 1/3 of 2 million, it is abt $7 to 800,000. Andy said in Mainland there are regulations on giving the approval, the rules are not relaxed with the rumoured dropped in fee. He wont decrease his fee just to have the concert.
He added from 1st of May, he will have his concert in China, in places such as Hungzhou, Congqin, Zangchoon etc, a total of 12 shows.
On his learning of change-face, Andy said he will not talk on it any more in future, as he is not sure who is for & who is against. His status is just a student, eagerly wanting to learn something, he will encounter difficulties that he has to surmount, he hopes he will not be maligned as using it as a propraganda.
Asked how much has he learned? He said everybody has varying capabilities, he just has the sincerity & eagerness to learn, hopes that he can master it. As to whether he will perform it in future, it will be decided by the Research Centre & the master, but he will definitely not use it to make money. Like the other students, he has to learned the history & lectures, there is no difference.
It was said Jacky Cheung's wife is now 3-month pregnant, Andy congratulated them. The reporter asked he is still single today, Andy smiled, " What has other people pregnancy got to do with me ? Again turn to me?..." he refused to answer.

On facing rivals webs such as Star East & Leon Lai's webs, other than the being first artiste to fight into cyberway, Andy actively uses different tactics to attact members.
Accordingly, within 2 months os setup, it has nabbed 170,000 official members, the progress is rapid. As Andy said the first intake is for the fans, sebsequent targets are atthose who have no specific idols & the general public, finally those who dislike him will also throw into the net willingly.
Since the launch, the site is v active, other than the rich content, prizes are aplenty & sumptuous, Andy also actively involves in its promo, it is thus not difficult to attact surfers from different levels.
Andy still is not complacent, he will continue working to attract members. Accordingly, instead of writing out the diary everyday, Andy intends to 'say' it out with his own voice, if this is true, it will definitely be even more attractive.
Andy who is an ardent worker on charity, lately is actively involved in another site, andygogo with charity as the theme , it will be launched a few montha later. Whatever it is, good stuff will keep coming, just keep surfing in!
