Ah Hu was officially screened yesterday. Andy for the first time visited 10 cinemas in HK & Kowloon. Decked out in white windbreaker & pants, he cruised around in a silver-colored CLK 500 Benz costing 1.3 mil, 2 buses were arranged to ferry the media & security personnels. His 200 over fans chartered 2 double-decker buses to accompany him, a total of 5 vehicles on the road!
Andy came out of the top window of his car to wave, he had no seat-belt on & is in danger of being booked by traffic police every minute, the driver may be fined $450 too!
At 6pm, Andy started the tour in UA Golden Bell cinema. Ericsson sponsored 10 handphones for each cinema as lucky draws. The hp has the design of Ah Hu as cover! 10 lucky winners were drawn at UA, 90 others still waiting to be drawn.
A simple ceremony was held in UA, Andy smashed a cardboard with black boxing glove, exposing the handphone & gift pack.
After UA, the convoy proceeded to Tong Lor Wan. The traffic was heavy. One fan rushed out to shake hand with Andy, regardless of the traffic! Traffic around Tong Lor Wan was at a standstill when Andy convoy was there.
At all the roads they passed, many fans & onlookers lined the street, all v excited to see Andy waving from the open-top of his car.
Many others waited & cheered at the cinemas. It was chaotic with reporters & security fighting for space. After the 3rd cinema, the problem was less as the media left early to wait at the next stn.
Andy stopped for abt 10 min in each cinemas. He wished he could stay longer & get feedback form viewers.
When he sent his parents back after the premier, his father commented that the movie was exciting, his mother said too gory & asked if it is suitable for children. Andy reassured her that he movie is rated IIb & small childen will not be allowed in.
Andy recalled it was real tough in the filming of boxing, he was boxed till fainted, lost his directions & lost his temper. At that time he wondered why he should suffer like that, now looking back, he felt it is worth the sufferings. But as to whether he would film another movie like that, he wont dare to promise.
Yesterday was 'Andy Lau Day' at Metro Radio, Gigi Leung & Shi An Hua were interviewed by the stn. Gigi commented Andy is like a big general & created 'wind' wherever he goes.

Metro Radio is always creative & different from the other stns in its annual Hit Awards. This year it plans to hold a music appreciation exhibition before the award ceremony. It is rumoured that record companies are not keen on the idea, for economy reasons. In order not to offend the stn & afftcting the chance of the singers in getting awards, 5 record companies joined hand to boycot the activity, with BMG included.
When contacted yesterday, the organiser clarify that it is not necessary for each co to set up a booth but just to get the singers involve in some auction sales.

Andy's 100th movie Ah Hu was premiered at UA Golden Bell cinema 2 nights ago. Despite the drizzle, fans & good friends turn out in full force to support.
Few hundreds fans, with banners & red-gloves (self-bought) lined the entrance chanting 'Ah Hu! Ah Hu!' to welcome Andy & Takako.
Andy came in a black boxer rope with red lining & Takako in dark outfit. Andy looked like a bridesgroom in traditional gown & she aliked a shy bride. The assistants carried a golded waist band as in a boxing game. Andy was in high spirits, he was all smiles & waved to the crowd. As there were just too amny people, Andy carefully escorted Takako all the way, he whispered to her as if teling her the situation.
The place was so crowded & was v chaotic, many security guards on duty were v strict. Derek Yee with some friends were trapped outside & couldnt get in. He had no choice but to leave the place. When Andy was on the stage he called him many times, but was told he could not come in.
Andy's parents, Rosumund Kwan, Deannie Yip, Sandra Ng & director bf, Lin Xin Rei, Small Black, etc attended. Po Yong Qin, who does not know Andy also came. She said she admires & respects Andy for his hardworking attitude.
When Andy went to autograph on the board, Takako was naughty, she bent down with him & signed together. Later Andy helped her to put on glove. Together they were to smash a piece of galss measuring 4ft sq .Andy did it beautifully with one punch, the 'sugar-glass' broke into spider-shaped. Takako was scared, she closed her eyes & jumped out of sight as soon as it was broken!
The glass breaking ceremony was to signify full-house in all shows of Ah Hu.
Among the guests was a boy in mask, he was invited by Andy to watch the premiere, Andy was happy to know he could come as he was suffering from terminal leukemia.
After the show, Rosumund & Dannie left the cinema with heads down, they were red-eyed. 5 viewers were interviewed randomly, all give v good remarks, gave movie a A rating.
Sandra Ng when asked, said Andy fighted v well, it is a new fresh image for Andy, is attractive to movie-goers.
Andy wanted to thanked his friends after the show, but they all looked down, as many were red-eyed. Andy received many calls from friends after the show, he is v thankful for their encouragement & the praise given to him.

After the show, Takako was interviewed by Japanese media. When it was over, Andy invited her to supper. Together with the crew, forming 7 tables in all, they feasted on delicacy such as chilli crab, fish, squid, prawns, chicken wings, porriage etc in Wan Zai. They left at abt 2am. Fans gave Andy cahmpagne outside the restaurant to congratulate him, Andy happily 'blew trumpet' on the spot.

Andy was at the rehearsal of a performance for the China Paralympians yesterday afternoon. He chatted with Sang Lan, many asked Andy to take photos with them.
When asked to test the mike, Andy joked with Andy Hui, "Hey, where are you going with Sammi this X'mas?" Andy Hui pretended to be deaf & smartly escaped the question!

Takashi Sorimachi has confirmed he will act with Andy in a movie, temporarily called 'You & I'. It is a story of 2 killers who are enemies of one another. This movie will be directed by Johnnie To & will most probably dubbed in English too for entry to the Western market. Takashi S will come to HK on the 5th Jan for the press con on the movie, shooting is scheduled to start in March. He will hold a concert in HK in March, Andy Lau is the most likely to be the guest.

19/12---Finally the first round was over smoothly, completed tonight's Ah Hu's first premiere, the scene was v shocking..., it was really vvv packed....
At the premiere, the movie co arranged a 'glass-breaking ceremony', to wish boxoffice full-house like breaking glass, break magnificiently, break beautifully. Really Ah Hu did not disappoint people, the fist is 250 lb, but never thiught ....is T Takako is not weak, her fist is 249 lb....haha...haha...Andy

Tokiwa Takako arrived in HK at abt 2pm yesterday for the promo of the movie premiere. In jeans & casual jacket, though appeared tired, as she is currently busy filming a Japanese serial, she was v friendly & cooperative, she was all smiles & posed for photographs.
In crude Cantonese she asked, "Tak mei?" (okay?)
"Mei tak!" (not yet!)
She laughed 'hahaha', looks like she understands some Cantonese!
The reporters were tricked when they came down the escalators, she turned & wanted to run away, when they turned to chase her, she laughed. Later while walking to the car park, she pretended to fall, when everyone became anxious she laughed! She is quite used to HK reportes & likes to joke with them.
She said she wont be in sexy outfit, as Andy will be in sportswear, she will wear a dark blue dress to match his. Takako is happy that Andy praised her as an actress with acting skill.
Takako will go back to Japan today, she regrets that she cannot join Andy at the islandwide movie release on the 21st.

Headline: Andy insisted on sending X'mas cards
Other than e-mails, some artistes use traditional method to send greeting cards to friends during X'mas. Andy Lau is one of them. For the past 8 years, every year he sends his fans, friends, & media X'mas cards. His cards are unique, with special designs. Tens of thousnads are sent out every year.
Every card has his picture, can see different looks of him at different period of time, such as change in his hair style. Once he designed the card with him & his favourite bowling.
Despite being so busy, he takes pains to sign every card personally, he said this is show of sincerity. His time with fans & friends are not much usually, so at his time every year, he takes it as a way of showing thanks to them for their support.
These special cards become fans collectables. What will this year card be like? He is keeping it a secret now, later on everyone shall know, he says.

2000 CR Hits Awards will be held on the 1st of Jan next year, the stn announced the results of My Most Favourite Songs yesterday.
Andy who has alienated himself from CR form the beginning, despite his promotional activities, none of his songs are on the list. The other King who has the same fate as Andy is Aaron Kwok, he is out of the Top 20. Even Joey Young is not on the list.

2 nights ago after the autograph-cum-movie promotion session, Andy went to TVB for the recording of JSG. In a game, Andy was told to sing a song taken from the 'Big Sister' singer. The audience requested Anita Mui's Dream Partner. Andy sang the song with poise, when he was praised, he said he practised every move at home before he came!
In another game where the singer had to sing with jump words for the lyrics, Andy tried hard but could only pass 1 stage. The Taiwanese girl gr 4-In-Love beat him flat with 3 stages. Andy pretended to look 'ashamed'. He was punished, Leo Ku sat on his lap atop a ballon till it was burst.
Andy jokingly whispered to Leo, "Not so hard, I am really in pain!"

Andy had a movie promotion in Wang Po yesterday, Thai actress Sine Charoenpura & boxer-actor Ruj were present. A boxing ring was set up. Other than playing games with a few hundreds fans, MTV of the song was shown.
5 movies will be screened during X'mas, Wong Jing predicted all the 5 will fail, as they are fighting among themselves, their standards are almost equal.
Does Andy have any special method to promote the movie?
Andy said he has no special method, just the usual premiere & other promo activities. Unlike China Strike Force, which premiered in old HK airport, Andy said his movie will premiere in 4 cinemas, for better effect.
Will Takako be like Norika Fujiwara appearing in sexy outfit?
"Takako has a different image, she belongs to the acting category, I wont expect her to do that."
In Ah Hu, Andy had kissing scenes with Takako & Sine. Asked what was the difference?
"Sine is from the tropics, the feeling is she is warmer. Takako is more conserved, as she acted as a nun."
Sine gave her first screen kiss to Andy. During filming she was nervous & needed NG 3 times.
Speaking in English, she told the reporters that Andy is young & is a real gentleman, she is v happy to work with Andy.
Andy joked that after years in showbiz, he has collected many first screen kisses, such as from Jacqualine Wu in Time Of Romance, & Gigi Leung in Full Throttle, joked that he recorded them in his diary!
Rju was a boxer before he becomes an actor, in the movie, Andy was bashed up by him, so much so that Andy lost his temper while filming! Rju was asked if he injured Andy, he said, "Yes, but he fight back too! (Did he injured you?) Litle bit lah! But it is alright since it is only filming."

It was rumoured that pirated copy of Ah Hu is out for sale in Mongkok. Andy said he will have abt 70 security guards to patrol the 4 cinemas during the premiere tomorrow, different cinemas will have different versions( scene taken from different angles), as to whether he could nab the pirates it is v hard to say. Pirated copy could come from the preview they had, the quality will not be good. He urged fans to help in nabbing the pirates, 2 tickets will be given as rewards.

16/12---A v busy day!
For long time always respect athlete Sang Lan perseverance on herself, & her love for sport, knowing that she is coming to HK, with the assistant discuss how to make time out to meet her. As I have to attend a few important different activities today, I can only receive her at the airport, hope next time I have more time to chat with her!
After airport went direct to Ah Hu's gift pack autograph session, though it was v busy at the scene, luckily everyone was v cooperative & v orderly, the avtivity was thus completed smoothly.
After that, in order to promote the new Cantonese song, went TVB to record JSG, now still in the process of recording! Better concentrate on working, not talking anymore...Bye Bye Andy

China Disabled athletes & previous Olympics athlete Sang Lan arrived in HK yeaterday. They will have a performance with HK representatives & HK artistes including Andy, on the 22nd Dec.
Andy arrived in the airport personally to receive them. The athletes were v excited with Andy's sudden appearence, thye gave him notes, held his hands, chatted with him, took photos, & asked for autograph. One athlete gave Andy a tight emblace on seeing him.
Andy presented flowers to Sang Lan. Sang Lan, an 18 ye-old national athlete was paralysed since '98 after a neck injury while competing in NY.
Sang Lan was v touched by Andy's presence, she said Andy is her idol.
Andy praised Sang Lan's courage & determination in facing setbacks, her enthusiasm with life is a good example to encourage others, one should not avoid problems but to face it with courage.
Though disabled, Sang Lan is till enthusiastic with sports. Her attitude is respectable.
Andy asked her if she could sing. She said she sings only in karaoke, Andy promised to sing with her if there is a chance.
Andy is v busy, after airport visit, he rushed off to an autograph session for the promo of Ah Hu.
The place was packed to the brim with 2,000+ fans & onlookers. As only 600 gift sets were given out, many queued up as early as 6am.
Andy said he will sign with the right hand & shake hand with the left.
It is no wonder some fans became so 'dizzy' after signing & forgot to take their gift-sets!
There was one fan who came with a 'squrrel' puppy, Andy gave a shock-look & avoided it pinching his nose, he was so comical. Andy was worried that he might be allergic to dog's fur & started sneezing!
Young & old are fans of Andy. Andy takes special care to all.

The gift set contains stickers, postcards, gloves, sandbag key-chain, coupons to the movie etc. The gift set has 2 paterns, one is Andy alone & the other is Andy & T Takako.
After signing 600, Andy was not tired, he takes it as part of his life, just like eating. He enjoys interacting with his fans.
Movies slated for release during X'mas are all having promo with different tactics these few days. Andy was asked if he has any. He said, "Flying & going under all used up, I have to resort to landing on realistic ground. I have done my promo, now I pass the baton to the audience, as I need them to go in to cinema to support. If they have the courage to go in, I have the gut to tell them this movie is sure to move them!."

15/12---This afternoon attended company meeting, to discuss plans for year 2001, departmental work & linking, now the company has taken off well, later on I can return to be a full time entertainer/artiste, concentrate on making good movies & music for all! Night time attended my Cantobese album promo activity, the record co other than specially making a limited stock of delux copy, also presented me with a 10 over ft tall Ah Hu figure, the unveiling ceremony simple & yet grand, hope the album is like the movie, can sell well! Andy released his new album, 'Xin lan' or 'Deep Blue', yesterday. This album release is in conjunction with the launch of his 100th movie Ah Hu.
A limited nos of 10,000 delux copies of album was out yesterday. BMG held a big-scale promo activity at New Century Square in Mongkok. The co spent HK$200,000 to bulid a 16-ft tall statue of Ah Hu, unveiled by Andy. It is v attractive.
The album has 10 new songs, it comes with an attractive black hard cover, the size of the vinyl disc of yesteryears.
Come with the album are pictures of the movie, pictorial book, & a free ticket to the movie. Each copy costs HK$100. As the production cost for the album is high, only limited copies were produced.
Over a thousand fans & onlookers were there. One female fan even came with the placard with words: 'Andy hubby return home ya'
The statue shows Andy as boxer with exposed chest, & prominent 6 toned abdominal muscles. It is no wonder the fans became exhilarated with the statue. The boxer shorts have the words 'OYP' sewn on.
Andy was playful, he pulled down the waist line & said, "Serious, like real, even has belly-button!" he reporter told him there is no underwear. Andy replied he wore a genetalia protector, it is enough!
MTV of the new song 'When I Meet You' was premiere at the same time. There was a kissing scene with T Takako, Andy joked, "Tokako is v nice to kiss!"
The statue will be air-flown in first-class to Beijing later for display.
Andy praised the record co promoters for being so thoughtful to come up with new ideas of promotion, even after so many years he has with the company.
Asked if he will bare his top when he tours cinemas on screening day? Andy said he will only wear track suit as he has to move abt in many places. No, he wont be wearing boxing shots only!
Asked abt his nmg hosting Leon's LA concert, Andy replied, "I'm a small partner, usually I leave it to the other directors to manage, I dont know who has signed up witht he co. But other singers like Jacky Cheung had been under their company before in concert management.

Headline: Andy will be in boxing attire to tour cinemas during screening of Ah Hu
On the first day of island-wide screening of his 100th movie Ah Hu on 21st of Dec, Andy will tour 10 over cinemas in HK & Kowloon, all within 2 hours. The co has arranged for a Benz & a float car to ferry him.
In accordance with the role he played in the movie, Andy will appear with boxing attire, accompanied by some 'tough men'. As the date coincides with Chinese festival, Dong Zhe or Tang Yuan festival, it is expected that more people will go to cinemas. Andy is v anxious with the boxofice of the first day, it is the first time that he appears on the first movie screening day.
Andy's movie promotion has won mail commendation from Hui Fong Bank London headquarters. His movie promo activities are pasted at Hui Fong bank headquarters. The bank is also one of the movie sponsors. Andy's attitude is in accordance with bank's policy in respecting customers. Andy is happy with the honour.
Besides, CinaMetro in celebrating Team Work 10th anniversary, is screening 5 of Andy's movies for 5 days, from the 14th to the 18th.

Andy has released his new Cantonese album today, one day earlier than Leon Lai. In an interview, Leon indicated this is no problem at all.
Li Xiao Lin who partnered Andy in nmg co, disclosed that the co will manage Leon Lai's concert in LA. This is the first time Leon & Andy are cooperating, Andy becomes Leon's boss.

Headline: Because of self pride, Andy does not want to play 'false boxing'
Before filming his 100th movie, Andy had thought of many different themes, finally he decided to use the story of a boxer---Ah Hu.
In this movie, he acted as a professional boxer who played 'false boxing' as a living, before each match he alreday knows the result of the game. This has made him to have v low self esteem of himself in front of the one he loved, his first wife in the movie. Finally, in order to show his daughter that one has to count on his real ability, regardless of the outcome to play a real game. This is also Andy's attitude in real life, things gotten with real substance is respectable.
In HK entertainment circle, many awards are viewed as 'fixed' or 'exchanged', just like a game of 'false boxing'. Andy takes the rumour lightly, he said all organisers have their own rules & requirements, it cannot be said fair or not fair, if one can manipulate, why cant that singer gets awards every year. He had experienced year without award & years with awards. It all depends on the result one produces within that year, if it suits the taste & up to the present trend, he wins. If by filming TV serilas one can get awards then the awards can just be given to the actors.
Andy feels that he depends on his own ability, so he is not bother with the rumours.
Andy does not put awards as his goals of achievement. Because of such, awards do not bring him pressure, but the market sale is important to him. Awards are like a bonus to him, so be it big or small awards, as long as there is awards he is happy.
In many public occasions, Andy never denies that he wants awards. To this he responded, "Of course, because I really put in lots of work, hope to do the best for my fans & audience, if someone acknowledges the result of my work, I am most happy, so I wont feel shy. Just like someone praise me, I wont say 'dont need your praising!'. While feeling grateful, I respect others who give me credits."
Andy years of hardwork is evident to all, though many said the era of 4 Heavenly Kings are over, Andy continues to strive for his career. This year alone, till now he has bagged 12 awards. From here it can be said that Andy is like a boxer who never gives up.

Jing Yu, an action movie star of the '70s, despite having successfully quitted drug, is still being despised by the society. Lately he was caught using child's fare to sit the light rail, & was fined. 12/12---Today dont need to film BBM, so went back to office to settle some admin work, but when I step out of the house, before reaching the carpark, alreday began to drizzle, & a bit cold~~~, no choice but to return & change clothes. 13/12---Attended a good friend's wedding dinner tonite, actually this friend alreday registered, now held the dinner, when I received the invitation, I thought he is holding a full-moon celebration for the baby, real 'wu-long'! 14/12---Weather is quite funny ! Last few days was so cold, wrap up in blanket & not willing to get up. Today temp raise a few degrees suddenly, not sure if tomorrow will be sweaty, should wear a short sleeve?! Nite time invited Tang Jie Min for a meeting, discuss a new movie scratch, hope can materiialise ASAP, set another miracle in year 2001! Andy
