...Chang Wei Qian's filming price has increased by leaps lately! From the price of $80,000 per episode in Fong Sak Yik to $100,000 in Wei Xiao Bao, now Andy Lau has signed him up with $120,000 per episode in the series The Young Chang San Fong! He has become the highest paid artiste in HK & TW.

Mai Dang Hsiung filmed Unstopping Love many years ago with Andy Lau & Wen Bi Xia as leads. The movie was well filmed, v refreshing with Andy's innocent look. Now Wen Juan is thinking of re-filming this movie with Daniel Chan & Qin Hai Lu as leads. But this combination is not as appealing as Andy Lau & Wen Bi Xia.

25/2---The weather turned cold suddenly today, also started to drizzle, cold & chilly, actually wanted to go for car ride, finally stay at the warm home & rest!
Nite time began to write song for new album, spent a whole nite, still havent finished. Oh my god! To do a good song, really is difficult!

24/2---Busy one whole week, today I am like an office worker, rest one day. Invited friends to Tong Lor Wan for lunch, followed by bowling. Played the whole afternoon, then go home for dinner. Relaxed a whole day, mind is clearer now, full of new ideas in the head, shall discuss with the staff in the office. So....good!

'Sprite My Choice China Pop Music Awards' ceremony will be held tonight in Guangzhou. Andy Lau who was initially said to be winner of 3 awards is now out of the game, with 0 awards. This is because his identity as spokesman for Dao Ti green tea clashes with the benefits of the sponsor of the music awards.

Andy, v popular in the Mainland, & favoured by the Cultural dept, was rumoured to be winner of 3 awards, namely, Most Popular Singer in HK, one gold song, & Best Duet for the song I Dont Love U Enough. These awards are all taken away from him at the last minute.

Faye Wong, Aaron Kwok, Kelly Chen suffer the same fate.
Eason Chan who endorses a fruit juice is similarly kicked out.

When contacted, the personnel i/c did not deny Andy's identity has affected the outcome, his position is embarassing, but they are still working at it. He refused to say if Eason wins any award.

22/2---Went home after attending an activity in Wanchai. Dont think I laze at home, actually I am especially busy at home today, keep thinking abt this year's concert.
What do people like to see? What songs you want to listen? What sort of look I should appear as? When to start doing....all the problems must think out carefully, looks like...busier than meetings!

Yesterday Andy was at Wanchai Exhibition Hall for the IT Exhibition by RTHK. He was the guest-cum-chairman for the launching of RTHK live online ceremony.

Andy was asked why he has not listed his andylau.com, as it was launched a year ago, he joked that he is not a 'superman'. [Richard Li has been nick-named 'small-super']

After his concert, Takashi S will start filming You & I with Andy. Takashi S announced his marriage 2 nights ago, Andy said though he & Takashi are not close buddies, they talked on script when they met, but marriage is a big happy event in life, he sincerely sends his best wishes to the newly-wed.

Teamwork has plans to film more movies & is trying to recruit new faces. Andy said he is not joking, males with height of 5'8", age between 16 & 36, with no ill habits can apply.
He said his age difference with Cecila Cheung is too big, he has never thougth of acting with her, though Chao Wei acted as his gf before.

Andy was the spokesman for Sun Energy Tour. It was rumoured that this company has merged with another tour co, the new co is still called Sun Energy, & Andy is one of the boss. Filming of commerrcial for the new co is done by Andy's company. Andy personally selected a person who had impersonated him before on a TV prg, to act his role as in AFB & Sun Energy commercial.
This person, however, after making up, was shockingly a dead ringer of Tony Leung. Andy laughed, "He is abt 90% like Tony, even in the way he talks, abt 70% like me!" The com has another artiste acting together to signify the merge.
Andy denied he is one of the boss, he said he helped in the production of com as Sun Energy Tour boss is his good friend.

AFB storyline & Andy's acting are well received by many in TW & has good box office collections. Andy is glad that the movie is commercial yet has arthouse value.

nmg, a joint venture by Andy Lau & Li Siao Ling, has officially signed up Coco Li lately. It will be her managerial comapny for her overseas activities. The first of such cooperation is most probably Coco's World Concert Tour. Andy & Coco, now under the same family, will be able to cooperate, their joint force is beneficial to overseas market expansion...

Takasi Soromochi will hold his first concert in TW on the 23rd, nmg is the manager for the concert. T Sorimochi has requested body guards to be taller than him & hotel near to place of concert, but refused local delicacies. 20/2---Had dubbing for Blue Blooded Human today, mainly on English dialogue, thought had said the lines fluently, thought evry word is correctly pronounced, just like a foreigner.
But actually I had mistaken, the way foreigners speak English, not very word is distinctly spoken out, they will omit certain vowels & connecting words, so that every sentence is clearer & simpler & nicer to the ears. Attended a very practical English conversation today.

Headline: Andy takes back promotion right of albums from BMG, doing all by himself

Andy's albums are always produced by his own New Medoly company, released & promoted by BMG. With the coming of the new year, Andy has decided to take back the right of album promotion, & his very own New Medoly Group (NMG) will be the sole promoter. BMG has only right to album release. Bobby Chan, HK regional representative, denied that it was due to dissatisfaction with BMG that Andy had made this decision.

Andy had just released a new album Deep Blue in conjunction with his movie release, this is the last album that Andy handed over to BMG for promotion. All new albums by Andy from now will be under NMG for promotion. The new album is estimated to be out in the summer holidays.

Andy's professional attitude & spirit in the circle is second to none, his expectations are always v high , he likes to be involved in a lot of things, as in album production he likes to be involved & give his own ideas. Now he has decided to do his own album promo, he can be in full control, with sufficient manpower & fund, he hopes every album is up to perfection.

Accordingly this step taken by Andy is linked to his efficient assistant Li Siao Lin. Since Li left BMG few years ago, BMG had reshuffled, this gave Andy a sense of insecurity, he has some little comments with BMG promo, but BMG is a big international company, Andy is unable to have control in certain aspects. Andy sought cooperation with Li, he hands NMG over to Li to manage, he ropes in man power to set up Promotion dept, having his very own unit.

Bobby has admtted that Andy will be doing his own promo from now, "His company is expending, (Is it because he is unhappy with BMG?) No, we have no problems, it wont affect anything at all, we will still release his album, (Rumoured BMG has a stake in NMG?) I am not sure, there is no announcement from the headquarters."

Box-office hit aside, Lau's 100th movie is making a social impact.

HONGKONG star Andy Lau's 100th film, a melodramatic story about a Thai kick-boxer now showing in Taiwan, has turned out to be a surprise hit for the actor. And it is not just because it is a box-office draw there.

The Taiwanese Justice Department has so taken to A Fighter's Blues, about a boxer who reforms after going to jail for killing a man, that it has arranged for the movie to be screened in Taiwan's prisons.

Officials who saw the movie felt that the indomitable spirit of Lau's character in the film would encourage inmates and motivate them to change their ways, say Taiwanese papers.

The unexpected accolade has not only surprised Lau but may also change the future direction of his movies. The actor told reporters that he might make more of such meaningful, positive films.

After waking up, had afternoon tea with friends in Penisuala, listen to music at home, read comics, chit-chat...
Nite time drove to Che Zu specially, enjoy a delicious dinner, a realx weekend is thus passed!

After watching AFB, many law enforcers in TW feel that the unyielding spirit portrayed by Andy Lau in the movie has an encouraging effect on the inmates, they have arranged for the movie to be screened in Taipei prison, as a form of learning/teaching material. Andy would never have thought of this extra compliment during filming of movie, never had he thought he could have a positive impact & could convey encouraging message to prisoners.

The movie has potential to stimulate inmates to repent & correct themselves, thus turning over new leaf. It is a movie educational & yet entertaining. They are discussing witht the movie company for it to be relaease in the prison!

Andy was taken aback by the news at first, if AFB can inspire the crimianals to have a new beginning, fulling responsibility to the society, then it must be the greatest encouragement he gets since he started filming. It will also inspire him to film more of the meaningful movies.

Box office for AFB in TW is v good, Andy hopes the movie can set a new high record for TW, he has promised TW fans to bring Takako T to meet the fans if the box-office is v high!

7th TV Commercial Awards, organised by ATV, announced its nominations for the top 10 commercials yesterday. Andy Lau's Ericsson commercial is one of the 38 nominated. Aaron's pepsi & Leon Lai's StarEast.net ads were the other 2 nominated. The ceremony will be held on the 31st of March.

AFB acted by Andy describes a boxer who accidentally killed someone & was put behind bars. He however changed for the better on release. Ministrial level felt that this movie has a positive influence on the inmantes of the jail, has thus invited the movie to be screened in Taipei prison.
Takako T had thro' fax indicated that she apprehended that this movie will be excellent during filming, & hopes to have more support from movie-goers.

17/2---Filmed MTV for 'Defective Beauty' today, seldom listen to one song continuously so many times, this song is really nicer if listen again & again.
Appreciate the director for this, his idea is v good! Actually not everything is perfect in this world, but in the not-so-persect, everything has its beauty & happiness. This MTV.....film just right!

Li Hai Shan who acted as a psychotic patient in a TV serial & cried 'raped by Andy Lau' in a TV serial, was praised by her friends for the realistic acting. She said she followed the script faithfully during acting, the excutive producer had given much thought to the lines, so she wont dare to change any words.

There was much after-effects after her lines were said in the serial. A day after the broadcast, Andy Lau appeared at the radio stn where Li Hai Shai was working. Li was guilt-conscious, & worried that Andy had come to confront her, "I was so scared then, not sure if Andy is coming after me? Later I realise he came to discuss his radio drama !"

14/2---This is a day that is most free when I come to TW. Had a meeting in the afternoon & attended a prg at nite.
But TW is so....cold!
Thought the place for the concert is indoor, but it was actually outdoor, no sufficient preparation....really almost couldnt stand! Luckily the crew prepared ginger tea to keep warm, V thoughtful. Thank You!

Organised by Min Shen Pao & Kiss Radio, telecasted by 'Hua TV'(?) 'Kiss Taipei Min Shen Lovers' concert was held last night under a chilly temp of abt 10 degree C. Artistes present included Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Sun Yanzi, Xi Jo Yin, Jay Chou, Jolin Chua, Sky Wu, Julia Peng, Alex To, Ah Liang, Power Station,...etc. They spent a heartwarming nite with thousands of fans who were either in pairs or single.

Min Shen Pao personnel i/c during her speech, her sentence, "V happy to spend Kiss Radio, 'Hua TV' birthday together, also many big stars are here, at the backstage I met everyone's lover, Prince Charming Andy, he is here!" evoked an immediate loud cheeer & screams from fans.

Assistant mayor of Taipei were present too.

With the presence of 2 heavenly kings from HK, the concert attracted attention of the media. Many fans were at the scene in the afternoon rehearsal.

Rumoured to have secret gf Zhu Liqian, Andy again declared, "Work is my lover, all my fans are my lovers."

Headline: Lau says 'no' to Tong's movie

A messy situation, so Lau (above) does not want any part of Tong's movie.

IT SEEMS China Strike Force star Aaron Kwok is not the only one who does not wish to work with director Stanley Tong.

Hongkong actor Andy Lau has also voiced his reservations if he was offered a movie to be directed by the 39-year-old China Strike Force director, website Apple Daily reports.

Lau was speaking in response to reports that Tong, who had a highly publicised falling out with Kwok, has asked him to replace the singer-actor in his upcoming movie, on the legend of the ancient Chinese patriot, Yue Fei.

Lau, 39, told reporters that he would definitely consider taking up the lead if 'the director is not Stanley Tong'.

But he refused to elaborate on his quote, saying the situation surrounding Tong is 'already messy enough'.

Kwok, 35, is likely to be dropped from his lead actor role in the movie after his spat with Tong, which is said ppto be over Kwok's luscious Japanese co-star Norika Fujiwara.

Tong is said to be bitter about losing the wooing game to the more good-looking Kwok.

13/2---Had meeting today to discuss production of MTV of the new song, name of sing is 'Defective Beauty'. This song is used as the theme song of a TV serial that has just begun, hope to promote the song with this.
Besides, we plan to launch, believe everybody has been waiting for a long time, 'Melody Vol 8' many told me they want 'Love U 10,000 Yrs', 'When I meet U', etc karaaoke version, believe many friends want to sing these songs, actually this new album has many songs which I like v much, hope can introduce one by one to all!

It is Valentine Day today. Together with Jacky Cheung, Andy will go to TW for 'Kiss Taipei. Min Shen Lovers' concert, to celebrate 23rd & 6th anniversary of Min Shen Pao & Kiss Radio respectively.

Andy has just gone back to HK on the 10th, now it is only 14th, when BMG staff contacted him on the invitation, they were hesitant, "Mr.Lau, you're v busy, it is okay if you cannot come." Never had they expected Andy to give a prompt & affirmative reply on hearing it is for Min Shen Pao & Kiss Radio.

Not only Andy will come, he will sing 3 songs: 'When I Met U' for Kiss Radio, 'Love U 10,000 Yrs' for Min Shen Pao, & 'Silly Child' for his fans. Together with the directors he will cut cake. On Valentine Day Andy is still working, but he is happy, as his 'lover' is 'work'

TV serial version of a medical movie was launched lately, in one of the episodes which was repeated last night, Li Hai Shan screamed, "I was raped by the singer/actor Andy Lau!"

Never knew Andy has such popularity, even TV serial sought his name to promote.

On this, Andy is not too bothered, as he is always magnanimous. He said he has to understand if Li Hai Shan is redaing from the script, then it is the scriprwriter who admires him, if it is impromptu then it is Li who admires him. Anyway, the role played by her was a psychotic, so it doesnt really matter & it is not something negative.

In TW for his movie promo lately, 4 streets in Xi Men Ting were closed for his jeeps to parade.

Andy joked that 'street parade' did not sound good as it was used to expose criminals to the public, he preferrd to be called 'street tour'.
The streets were so packed with people who wanted to shake hands with him, finally he decided to come down & walked the last 100m. Isnt it more risky?

12/2---Attended Outstanding Athelete Awards ceremony today, met some Olympics athletes, really happy!
In order to get outstanding result, everyone of them put in all his time & effort, actually other than their own personal effort, support from friends & family members are v important too. Just like So Wah Wei whenever he goes for competition, his parents will be there to cheer for him!
Actually wanted to become an outstanding athlete too, but how....I want to be an outstanding actor & singer even more!

Andy was at 'HK Outstanding Athletes Awards' ceremony yesterday, he was invited as guest to present awards. Nat Chan was also present.

On the rumour of Fu Minxia popping ecstasy, Andy said he does not believe it, since this has great impact on the person, he wants the reporters to be sure first before reporting. Andy denied contacting her & said he is concerned as a friend privately.

With the absence of Fu Minxia, another China gymnast, Liu Xuan was able to take her place, not only she went in hand-in-hand with Andy, she seated herself next to him & chatted with him continuously.

There was a report yesterday on Peng Deng Huai exposing Andy's desire to film Yue Fei still. To this, Andy denied adamantly, "I had not seen the report. I have never talk to anyone abt the topic of Yue Fei. I dont know how come I become involved in the role? It is best to ask the person who spread this news to act as Yue Mu!"

11/2---Back to HK from TW, really set to start work in HK. Went to office for meeting, then only realise it is Sunday, nobody work today!
Immediately called someone to come to open the door, luckily one staff was downstairs, real good luck!
Nothing special at night, invited some friends bowling, not sure if it was too busy lately, neglected training, the result was not satisfactory, shall take the free time these few days, practise more!

2 nights ago, Andy was interviewed by host Chou Xin Ping during Dong Shen News. Andy's love destiny for the year of Snake was fortold by a specialist. After reading, the specialist in a definite tone unfolded the unalterable hard fact that Andy will marry & have children this year, 'double happiness' in year of Snake. Andy, caught without mental preparation, was all blush on hearing this, . Andy face red? What does this imply? What hidden secret has been unveiled? Is it Andy was rightly hit at his secret, is the happy news near?

Andy had steamboat dinner with his crew after leaving Dong Shen News station. The reporter called him immediately. At the mention of the horoscope reader, Andy was quick to follow up, "Is it about marriage & child that you want to ask me? Not in time alreday, now is alreday 2nd month, how to do it, not possible alreday."
On further questioning on why he was all red with the prediction? Andy laughed initially but tried later to avoid the topic, "I did not have make-up when I go to the station, I look nice!" Later he begged the reporter not to press him anymore, he joked, "If this topic goes on, I'm going to cut the line off."

During his present trip to TW, he had said if his gf is pregnant, he will marry her. He was predicted to get marry this year. Please note: when Andy answered this question, he has never used the definitive word "NO", rather, he just used the words 'Not in time la', such bewildering words. This is his clever way of answering people, because all along, when the matter is not appropriate, he wont tell lie, but leave the fans wilh a lot of space to wonder.

Though Andy is loved by all in the circle, privately, he is a v traditional home-bound person, he does not smoke, does not gamble, does not booze, he with billions of assets, still live in thriftily. He describes his 'home' in HK as v simple in layout, a big TV in the living room, one chair (that shows he is still not married), one computer, & a black board, with many small airplanes pasted on it. Thse lovely small ornaments are to label which day he will fly to which place. His furniture is all from Ikea, v practical & simple, fully exhibits owner Andy's character.

Andy who loves working, Snake year is still a year to strive. said, "Target for this year is to be nearer to Golden Horse Awards." How abt TW Gold Songs awards? "This is v far away from me." He smiled.

AFB is his 100th movie, it has set a high box-office record in HK, those in TW who had seen the movie all give good remarks. Even Wang Li-hom said, "Andy's acting is v touching." yesterday, at Xi Men Ting, fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of him had made traffic come to a standstill.

It was reported earlier that Andy will learn art of face-change soon in Sichuan, & Andy had indicated that he will not act in the movie Yue Fei, because of the dispute between Aaron & Stanley Tang.
But Peng Deng Huai when interviewed by Mainland reporters, said, "Andy is too busy, now maybe he wants to act in Yue fei, so entry to school may postphone to March."

10/2---Today is the last day of promo in TW.
Cmpany arranged the last item of the activity was to parade the busiest street in Taipei with jeeps.
Thre were a few enthusiastic fans who kept following our jeeps behind, see that they were really supportive to me & AFB, feel v consoled, but the way they do it, regardless of own safty, maybe knocking into someone & causing danger, made me worried.
As the scene was v chaotic, causing danger anytime, the parade had to be shortened, after that played games with fans on the scene, completed the whole promo activity. I return to HK after that.
