30 over singers from Mainland China, TW & HK attended, it attracted 200 over reporters. Many fans waited outside at a temp of -12 degree. The press meet was v chaotic as there were too many people, the event was delayed for an hour, started at 8 instead of 7pm.
Andy, Leon & Aaron have the most nos of fans....
Andy was garnered Male Singer of The Century, with Faye Wong clinching the female title.

HK has completed its 4 annual music awards presentations, Leon has not attended any one of them. But barely a week after the last of HK awards, he is going to Beijing for the awards ....

Headline: Giorgio Moroder complains being cheated by RTHK
Giorgio Moroder was invited as guest to give out awards & to play piano for Andy's song Love You 10,000 Years at last Friday's RTHK awards ceremony.
Giordio lodged a complaint that he was cheated, pointed directly at the DJ Chow Guo Fong.
The complaint letter stated that he was invited to give out the award to World's Most Popular Male Singer & Media award together with Chiu Wen Huai, but he ended up being a backdrop, the first award was given out by Wong Jing & Alan Tam to Andy, the later by Chiu only. He also complains that the organiser promised to provide a professional piano for him but did not keep the promise....

Headline: Fung Fung Andy to discuss possibility of nabbing molester on the net
The nos of molest case in ??(a place in HK) is increasing, Andy has noted this, he had suggested installation of video cam to nab the molesters on the net earlier on, & has contacted Josephine Siu, hoping to cooperate with 'Protect The Young Foundation' in preventing crimes.
Jos Siu Fung Fung said Andy's idea is v good & innovative. But this involves problems, such as intruction of privacy, need to apply for approval from the relevent authority, maintainance after installation etc. The Foundation has made a survey & find that majority of the residents are agreeable with Andy's idea. Siu will contact Andy to discuss the problems before this can materialise.....

Headline: Can Andy become a movie magnate?
Come year 2000, there is hope for movie industry.
Andy's Teamwork Productions & CCT are jointly investing 1 billion each to produce movies.
Andy has already sent out self-written invitation cards to friends in the circle to attend a dinner held for the purpose.
According to sources, Teamwork will coperate with Derek Ye to film Full Throttle II. Derek has expressed his intention to film this movie before, but there were some problems, including technical assistance, & rampant piracy in the territory. Now the situation seems to have improved slightly, hope this movie can be filmed soon.
HK movies based on car racing are many aplenty, the most impressive on the racer so far is Derek's Full Throttle. The previous episode was motorbike racing, hope this time it is car racing.
Young movie-viewers prefer car-racing as theme of story, in the present movie 'Full Speed' by Ekin Chen, racing scene is not as watchable but boxoffice is still good. Computer games & comics books on car-racing will create a rage, but it has raised the viewers demand on the racing scene.
Racing games is able to give a 'life' effect, drawing are equally immaculate, to brekthrough all these effects, it is not easy.
Other than movie by Andy, Teamwork will produce other movies not starring Andy. Many famous directors have been contacted. Teamwork produced many movies these past years, the one that most people remember is '91 Savior Of The Soul. This movie received good review & boxoffice, a pity that the sequel did not produce the same result.
At an interview, Andy said even the best boxoffice '91 Savior Of The Soul lost money, as his demands were stringent, unable to balance expenses. Subsequent ones were even worse.
Teamwork produced less since then, until Fruit Chan's Made In HK, it caught people's attention again.
Everybody thought Teamwork Productions must be acted by Andy, never did they expect Andy supported another stream of movies.
Success of this movie rekindles Andy's desire for more productions. He funded Fruit Chan to film Longest Summer, though it did not win as many awards, but it is a good show.
Fruit's 'Small Kid' is not by Teamwork. It was rumoured Andy & Fruit were not on good terms, filming this sort of movies cannot make money, it does not matter who forsakes who. At the recent opening of 100-Movie Co, both of them were seen together happily.
Previously Teamwork does not have a complete production plan, any suitable ones they would start filming, now it should be diifferent.
Andy has received many awards in the music circle, returning to movies is the right move.
2 billion fund for Jacky Chan, is enough for only one movie, but use on others, taking an average of 20 million a movie, it will be enough for 10 at one go, if 10 milliom for one then it will be enough for 20 movies.
Dont forget these movies are not filmed at the same time, from the returns, 2 billion may be able to make more high quality movies.
Adequate fund, but most important is still an excellent production, Andy is a producer himself, hope he can really show some true color.

Headline: Never part with movies, enlisting help from renowned directors, Andy to invest 1 billion to save market
Andy Lau is always very enthusiastic with movies production. Previously he had set up a movie co, Teamwork Productions, as boss to invest on movies production. Although this has made him lost tens of millions, it has not dampened his eagerness , lately he has roped in CCT, each to invest 1 billion to re-establish Teamwork, contributing both money & effort to save the movie industry.
BMG manager Mr Yu disclosed to the reporters yesterday that both Andy & CCT will each fork out 1 billion as a joint venture. He has helped Andy to contact some directors to start filming, including Derek Ye, whose help they seek to film Full Throttle II, Ann Hui & others.
Mr Ye said Andy will hold a press con on the 31st, many from music & movie circles will be invited, he will then reveal plans for Teamwork.
Mr Ye said other than forseeing a recovery for movie industry, Andy has a fervent enthusiasm for movies, this sincerity coming from an artiste is hard to find.
Other than Full Throttle II, Andy may not act in the other movies. Previously he was too busy to handle the co, now Andy will look into every movie production personally, hope that it will be more successful this time.

revealed the results of its annual popularity polls earlier this month.
Last Friday, it unveiled the total tally of its most popular artistes of the
decade, based on the annual polls which began in 1991.
In the movie category, Heavenly King Andy Lau reigned supreme, having
taken the title five times consecutively. Only in 1996 was he overtaken by
Ekin Cheng, who topped the popularity chart on his first attempt.......

WHEN you have a well-known name, chances are that somewhere out there
on the Net, a Web address is using it, as Heavenly King Andy Lau found out.
He had been hankering after the Web address, andy lau.com, but
unfortunately, it was already taken. Thus, he had to make do with andylau.org
as his official home in cyberspace.
However, he has discovered that andylau.com was registered by a fan of his.
What's more, the latter has offered the Web address to his idol, free of
charge.
Lau will be setting up a site there, to be launched on March 1. It will feature
an online shop, lyrics from his albums and movie clips.
Fans can buy licensed products from this site, including clothing and sports
accessories.

Sunday is equally busy for Andy! (.....Katherine works 7 days on Sunday too!....) Andy attended 2 activities yesterday. He attended a blood donation campaign by Metro Stn first, the donation center was full of his fans, a v forceful presence indeed. He pleaded the public to donate blood generously.
After that he went to a hosp for a charity activity organised by Commercial Radio, to cut hair for the elderly, he led a gp of hairdressers from his saloon & some volunteers along.
Some elderly were not aware of Andy's visit, one grandma was asked by Andy, what hairstyle she wants? She instructed: 'front dont cover the eyes, back not too short'. Andy asked her, "Is it like mine?" The granny looked up & recognised Andy, she was so excited, "Wah! Andy Lau ya? I like your songs, I also like your movies, your song is v nice, I know your song Innocent LOve is #3 on CR stn."
Andy was pleased to hear this, he diligently cut hair for her, teasing & chatting all the way, granny was equally pleased. Andy asked her if she is scared Andy will molest her? She replied Andy can be her grandson. Andy asked her if she know how old he is, she said she didnt know but Alan Tam is 25. Andy answered," I'm older than Alan! Haha! I can be your son!" Andy made the granny v happy, he told her," since you like me, I'll cut a hairstyle like mine! Grandma, so beautiful!"
& finally the hairstyle looks just like his !! (....hahaha!)
It was said CCT signed an annual contract of HK2.5 million with him, he is the highest paid artiste. On this rumour, Andy laughed," They just dont know! I dont do this for money! 2.5 million? I think it's a bit looking down on me, this andylau.com is priceless, even if you offer higher than this, I wont sell!"

2 days ago Andy was recording for TVB JSG as guest. In a game whereby an artiste has to carry another one on the back, running on a treadmill & sing. Andy paired up with Qian Jia Le, Yang Qian Hua & Lu Jiao Yin were the other pair. The later could only last 1 min 12 sec.
When Andy carried Qian on the back, they had a good time doing acrobatics, going one on top of the other in turn, after Andy sang Qian followed, then the audience's turn to sing, it was really fun & comical, the audience cheered & laughed at their performance!
Andy was asked what is the name of his stage drama ? He replied 'Yang Guo & Xiao Long Nu'. He will choose one with a good figure for Xiao Long Nu. Sammi self recommended herself to be the lead, & suggested Romeo & Juliet as title, Andy laughed, "Juliet can, but Xiao Long Nu.....hahaha!" Is Andy hinting that Sammi does not have a good figure?......

With 15 awards on hand, Andy is the grand winner in the music circle, deservedly clinched 'Media Award'. Of all the awards, the gold for 'Highest Year Total Album Sale Singer' is the first time that Andy was given.
In the celebration party, Andy said he thank 'Ah Jiu' of BMG. He has accompanied him thro' all these years since he released the album 'Days Together'. Ah Jiu had said before that this album had high chance to get the award but lost at the end.
He has helped Andy's album to sell better & better, though there isn't one with a big sale, the sale for each is equal, so the total sale makes him clinched the award.
After getting 'Media awards' for 2 consecutive years, Andy admitted that he will not be able to get so many awards next year, because he will produce less in music, he will put in more effort in filming. His Teamwork Productions enters its 10th anniversary this year. He hopes to film 4 to 5 movies, one out of which he will be the lead actor. A press con will be held end of the month.
Andy tells his fans this news, hopes that they would not mind the number of awards he can get in future. No matter how, the most important thing is to produce a song with standard!
Andy said he will produce only 1 Mandarin & 1 Cantonese album this year.

Headline: Fans lacking moral conduct chided singers in awards ceremony
2 nights ago at Chinese Gold Songs awards, Andy was the big winner & Aaron was winner of World's Chinese Gold Song, both were actually very happy moments, but a gp of fans lacking in moral conduct, believed to be Leon's, chided the singers.
Abt 30 over fans were seen holding giant banners: 'Leon not for awards, but only for the glory of music', they booed & shouted 'rigging', attracting quite a lot of attention!
A gp shouted 'Lecher Sky King' when Aaron went up the stage, when Andy was on the stage, they shouted "Not scare holding awards until backache?!"
As they were seated v near to the stage, some singers had heard & felt unhappy. But Andy adopted an 'open-minded' (what Commercial Radio claimed to be!) attitude when asked by the reporter, "I didnt hear! I wont answer if you ask some more!"
Suspected to push Andy, Leslie: maybe timing was not correct
....At the ceremony, Leslie went down the stage to shake hands with the singers, while Andy tried to give him a hug, Leslie was seen ?pushing him away until Andy almost fell. At the party, two of them said they were excited & Andy fell accidentally . Ge-ge clarified that he actually wanted to hug Andy, but timing was out, maybe he was a bit forceful, he saw Eason holding Andy. Andy clarified nothing to do with ge-ge, looks like both were too excited, Andy was careless & almost had a fall!
Almost all the singers attended the party, the atmosphere was v warm. Andy as usual was most imposing, he appeared from the top window of nanny's car to wave to the fans who cheered the loudest!
Andy is glad that there is less pressure & strife nowadays in the music circle, as can be seen in the ceremony, when Aaron was singing, Nicholas & Eason 'sneaked' in from behind to dance along, nobody blames them for trying to get attention, it shows among the singers, they have opened up, are more acceptive, this lessen the stress.

22nd Top 10 Chinese Hits awards ceremony ended smoothly last night at the Coliseum. In an atmosphere that was cordial, jovial & harmonious, it winded up all the HK music awards for the year '99.
The various awards given out were as in the previous years honouring each singer with an equal share, eveybody is happy & satisfied.
Andy Lau was the big winner of the night, clinching 5 awards at one go, with a total of 14 from the 4 stations, he defeated Nicholas Tse who has a total of 12 awards, & deservedly nabbed '4 Stations Media Award'. Andy is the grand winner in the music circle, with the most outstanding excellent result for the year '99.
Awards won by Andy last night includes: one of Top 10 Best Singer, one of Top 10 Hits, Whole World Most Popular Male Singer, Best Commercial Song (bronze, Only You In Heart), Best Mandarin Song (Gold, Wooden Fish & Gold Fish), & Best Album Sale (gold).
Nicholas Tse with totla of 12 awards was striking brillent, Eason Chan has 11 awards.
Leon had announced he wont received any award this year, Jacky was holidaying overseas, it looked as if opportunity was made for Andy to get more awards, but in contrast Aaron Kwok did not show any outstanding results.
Among the female singers, Faye clinched World Most Popular Female Singer Award....

Andy's personal webpage will be officially launched on 1st of March, he disclosed his page is inclusive of everything, but the most unique thing is the 'protecting the young' activity which is a colloboration with the Protecting The Young Org. The aim is to nab the lechers, this will be done thro' installation of video cam at crime-prone spots, linked directly to the net, at anyone one time when a crime is committed, netsurfers can call the police on the spot. Andy is currently loking for sponsors & benevolent persons to donate 200 video cam, the first one to be installed will be at Chen-men area.
Asked how did he come up with the idea? Andy indicated Josephine Siu has always seeked his assistance, but due to time constraint, he was not able to help her in any way & feels v sorry. So he keeps thinking abt this idea, now with his own website, he dicsusssed with his friends the possibility & hopes to launch it on the same day.

'22th Top 10 Chinese Hits Awards' by RTHK will be held tonight at the Coliseum.
Top 10 Best Album Sale Singers was announced yesterday, the list includes Jacky, Andy Lau, Aaron, Faye, Sammi, Eason, Nicholas, Gigi, Kelly & Andy Hui (not in order), excludes Leon Lai. The organiser said the list is offered by the record co, since Leon already refused awards, they respect his decision, they will not 'carry one up to the sedan chair'.
Despite this, the organiser said they wil include names of all those deserved to be on the Top 10 songs list, but as Leon & Leslie may not turn up, they have added extra 3 songs to the list, to make the awards a perfect 10.
Andy has bagged 9 awards so far, 1 less than Nicholas, his chance of retaining Media Award for another year is v high, Andy said he wishes he could, but if he does not, he will try again next year, the same he says always. He has been busy with filming day & night, no time to think abt awards.

Early dawn today, the reporter met Andy & Sammi chatting away in Tsim Sha Chui, affectionally. Andy secretly dating Sammi, is it to cut the path of Andy Hui? Actually the duo were filming Lone Man Single Lady, the story goes as Andy met his previous gf, while Sammi was there to pass some stuff to Andy.
Before shooting, the reporter chatted with Andy, he said filming with Sammi was pleasant & exciting. Initially both were not aware of feelings for each other, later then they develop strong admiration for each other.
Asked Haken Lee's song Chery Blossum was banned because it was said to copy a Thai song, Andy replied there are only 7 notes, probably during composing one becomes so absorbed, so similar melody comes out, the same as when it's not easy to strike lottery, still there are people winning lottery!
Chinese New Year is near, Andy may be singing outstation, he wishes to spend the 2nd last day of the year at home with family.

Lau isn't easing up despite golden hits
DESPITE having his superstar status confirmed at Sunday's TVB Golden Hits
awards ceremony, Andy Lau is still pushing on with his work.
The pop idol, who won five prizes at the presentation, announced on Tuesday
the launch of his andylau.com website on March 1.
Apart from giving the latest news on him, the website will also sell Lau's
photographs as well as other memorabilia of the star.
The move is apparently aimed at stopping the unlicensed sale of his
photographs in Hongkong, from which he gets no profit.
Since last year, the singer has been protesting against the alleged unlicensed
use of stars' images by companies.
Lau, who was at the opening of a new Hongkong film company, said he is
also on to making his 100th movie.
But his main focus, for now, is his singing tour in April, he said.
