ARIAL'S HOMEPAGE!!!

Well hello everyone! Shin-Chan here. Well I finally went and did it. I have made a page dedicated to ~my~ fictional character, Arial. Why you may (or may not) ask? Because she has turned out to be so popular. Nearly all of the fan mail I get about my stories has a line or two about how much they like Arial, how perfect she is for Shin (like any of the other Troopers want to get stuck with her - my sister's opinion), and that she should be considered a ~real~ Trooper character, instead of the creation of a fan fiction writer's wild imagination. I am flattered. (Actually, I am just happy that people like her . . . )
Mainly this page is here to tell people about Arial; her background, abilities, and maybe some things planned for her future. This page is also going to hit on all of my different Arials; Ara'rial Ryunosui - The dragon princess from my main series and the first Arial to grace the web, Arial Kairyu - Avatar of the Dragon Gods and Seiji's cousin from 'Troopers 1/2', Arial Cassandra - Welder of the moon sword and savior of the future from 'A Present Future', and the little Lyrinian Arial - Shin's 'sister' from 'Dreamscape'. Though it was not mentioned above, the same basic theme runs through all of these stories: Dragons (with the exception of 'A Present Future'. Haven't found a way to squeeze them in . . . ), and that Arial is romantically involved with Shin. Before you all rush out and point out that Arial is Shin's sister in 'Dreamscape', think about it for a moment. Would I really do that? To Shin and Arial???

Basic Description

Arial is a pretty blond with purple eyes. She is small and petite, with a nicely curved figure. She has an oval face, and large, slightly angular eyes. Arial wears her hair long in all the stories, and generally with the lower half in a braid worn across her front. (If you have seen Five Star Stories, her hair style is styled after Ladios Sop's, except that her hair is wavy, not bushy.) In 'A Present Future', she generally keeps it back in one long braid.

Arial's personality
She is a rather exuberant, excitable girl, likes being outside, can't keep still, and is always curious. How mouthy and bratty she is depends on what story you are following. Arial is highly intelligent, an avid reader and has a great fondness for sweets, mainly chocolate and cherries. She also has a great fondness to casually drop important bits of information at crucial moments, or after the fact. She is prone to impulsive and rash actions, and will occasionally act on a personal whim at an inconvenient moment. Arial is a kind girl, very caring toward her family and friends and generally possesses a sweet nature. Her temper is quick and fast, and she generally does not hold a grudge.

Arial and Shin
Arial adores Shin (Hey, what can you say? I adore Shin!) She is totally devoted to him, and he is basically the only person she will listen to. (She is hopefully growing out of that.) During most of the stories, their romantic relationship is in the 'hand holding' stage due to how young Arial is. How their romance develops is up to Shin, despite evidence to the contrary ~Shin~ is the one in charge of their relationship.

Arial's Birth

Back in the winter of '96, when Kajite and I were exchanging ideas as to how the Troopers received their armors, I came up with the idea to write a story about it. (Kajite started a manga, then changed it to her own story - 'Samurai Souls') I hauled out a pen and paper and started to scrawl out my ideas. Then I got ahold of a computer.
As one could expect, the story featured on Shin. I had several ideas about tossing in a girl during his childhood, but never got around to doing anything with his childhood. When Shin and Shu went to Shin's grandfathers for summer break, I finally had a chance to toss her in. Arial Ryunosui. Actually her name is Ara'rial, but I decided that it sounded too strange to use all the time, and so it got shortened. The official reason is that Shin couldn't pronounce it as a child and called her Ar'rial instead, which became Arial.
In Arial I was trying to create a realistic person from Shin's childhood that one could identify with, but had a bit of specialness about her to counter the presence of the yoroi. I had recently finished watching Sohryuden: Legend of the Dragon Kings, and was ~really~ impressed with it. So . . . I decided that Arial's ancestor was a dragon. Due to the fact that Shin's armor was Suiko, Arial's dragon ancestor became a water dragon, based on the Black Dragon King of the Northern Sea. A water and weather dragon.
Since I had never created a character by scratch before, I based her on my identical twin sister (she calls herself Seiji-chan) and myself. We are Geminis, so Arial became a Gemini. Our birthday is June 8, her birthday is June 8. We both had blond hair as children (which has since turned brown), Arial became blond. She is small and petite for the same reasons. I made her eyes purple because I wanted something dramatic, and in the Sohryuden anime Tsuzuku's eyes are lavender. (Tsuzuku is my favorite . . . )
I did the same with her personality, various traits, and some of her hobbies. We like cooking, Arial likes cooking. We love reading, Arial loves reading. I have a passion for ancient history, so does Arial. Seiji-chan is an artist, so is Arial. We both have smart mouths (ask anyone who knows us), and sharp wits. It has been mentioned that Arial has a phobia about spiders, so does Seiji-chan. Arial suffers from stage fright - I did in high school. She likes knowing things, just to know them. So do I. We both have very short tempers and get annoyed easily.
All in all, I was pretty impressed with how she came out. I had a hard time believing that I created her, she came out so well. And the friends who read the story agreed. I did a very good job on her. Good enough that they feel she fitted in with the actual anime characters themselves, not just my fan fiction ones. I was floored. As time went by (and a couple new incarnations), my dear friend Toma-chan donated a couple MB of space for my work on her page so that others could read my stories. After that, the 'I love Arial' letters began.

Now for the good part. Individual biographies of Arial and her mirrors. Warning! These may contain spoilers, and they will definitely cover stuff that I have not mentioned in my stories. Happy reading!
