Chapter 3

“So, you’re telling me that Godzilla is being controlled by this...Negaverse of yours?” The Sailors had just finished telling the story to General Aso.

Sailor Mercury had been doing most of the talking. “That’s right, sir. I’ve managed to get a general idea of where their base is, but they must be using some kind of jamming, because I can’t get the exact coordinates.”

“Well, where is this area?”

“Somewhere around Mt. Fuji.”

The general got up and began to pace around the room. “We’ll need every available personnel to use in the defense against Godzilla, but I think we can spare...maybe...two squads. Will that be enough?”

Sailor Mercury shifted uncomfortably in her chair, “Well, actually it would be safer if you didn’t send any of your troops. The way you guys operate, the Negaverse would know you were coming and clear out before you could do anything to take their base. It will be much better if we go ourselves.”

Suddenly, an alarm started to ring throughout the building. General Aso got up and switched on the intercom. “What the hell’s going on up there?!?”, he screamed into the microphone.

A voice on the other end answered, “Godzilla has entered our defensive perimeter! He completely changed direction and headed straight for Headquarters!” General Aso abruptly got up and left for the Control Room.

Captain Shimomura, who had been watching the whole thing, got an idea. “Say, do you think that these Negaverse guys have anyway of tracking you guys?”

Sailor Mercury responded, “ I doubt it, it seems that we always suprise them when we show up”

Sailor Mars added, “Yeah, even when we’re right under their noses they never seem to notice us”

Captain Shimomura got a pensive look on his face, “Well, that would’ve explained why Godzilla would make a beeline for Tokyo, then completely change his direction to attack the place you went to.”

Sailor Jupiter looked up at the last comment, “ Well if you think that Godzilla is following us, then what are we sitting around here for, let’s get out of here!”

Minutes later, Shimomura was with them aboard a helicopter. The helicopter took off and headed west, toward the Sea of Japan. Almost instantly, Godzilla stopped and turned to follow the helicopter. Aboard there was a loud commotion when it was realized that the Captain’s theory was correct.

Jadeite had been hoping to watch the monster crush Tokyo, but at least it was still after the Sailor Scum. He tried to predict where the helicopter would go. Most likely some place away from everything and everybody where the Sailors could assure themselves that the monster could do no damage. Oh well, the monster will get them sooner or later.

As if reading his thoughts, Malachite cynically said, “Just how long will this “fool proof plan” of yours take, Jadeite?”

“Less time time than it would take for you to get rid of them, I’m sure.”

“Don’t try my patience, Jadeite. I vastly outrank you.”

“Don’t be so high and mighty, Malachite, if you attempt to disrupt my little operation, Queen Beryl will be most displeased with you.”

“The longer it takes, the smaller it’s going to get—“

Suddenly, Prince Darien interrupted, “Will you two shut up? In case you haven’t noticed the Negaverse is at war. We don’t have time for your pointless bickering.”

“With pleasure...”, Jadeite forced. As soon as I take over, I don’t know which one will go first, Malachite or this human idiot...

“There, that looks pretty good. Land in that clearing over there, will you?” Captain Shimomura said to his pilot. Th pilot complied and a few minutes later, they were on the ground.

Sailor Venus turned to Mercury, “Well, Mercury where to now?”

Sailor Mercury was quickly tying on her mini-computer. The strongest reading’s coming from that section of forest, she said, pointing. “On a narrower scan I’m picking up three probable locations for the main base.”

“Well, let’s split up and start snooping around”, Sailor Jupiter suggested, “Venus and I will take that one,” she said while simultaneously pointing to blip on the screen. “Mars and Mercury can take that one”, again pointing, “ And Sailor Moon, you can take that last one. I’m sure Captain Shimomura will go with you.”

“Jupiter, this is a little dangerous for a normal person, don’t you think?”, asked Mars.

“Well if you think I’m just going to sit here, you’re crazy. Besides, they’ve probably picked us up already if what you said about their tracking equipment was true.”

Just as he said this, there was a loud cry from the direction of the helicopter followed by the terrifying sound of twisting metal. The Sailors and the captain turned to see a large metal ball where there had once been a G-Force helicopter.

“The pilot...is he ...dead?”, stammered Sailor Moon.

“No one could have survived that...”, Shimomura whispered. “But what could do that, and disappear so quickly?”

Sailor Venus suddenly yelled something unintelligible, and the captain got his answer.
