The Ranma and Akane Meant For Each Other is the best I have seen out of all the sites. Only one problen, you need to have more on the site! I read about how busy you are I understand. On the About Me section I read how you are studing Medical Illustrations. Wow,you must love to draw like I do. Also when reading your site I picked up some Japanese words that you used. You are probably thinking "How did she know?" well maybe you are thinking that. I am half Japanese and lived in Japan fo about 4 years. My father's company lets us go to Japan for free to visit our Ogichan and Obachan once in awhil. So I know allot of Anime and grew up with it. But Ranma is of course one of my favorites. But some of the others I like is: Tenchi Muyo, Saloi Moon, Dragon Ball Z.... the list goes on. I also love the reasons you give why Ranma and Akane should be together and why Ryoga and Ukyo are totally meant for each other. Your site inspires me to make my own Ranma 1/2 site one day. It may not seem very different at first but I think they imply very different things. The question that Shinnosuke asks and the response that Akane gives in the vid's translation seems more innocent because it's indirect and passive. But, the way Shinnosuke asks and Akane responds, according to your website, is very direct and a little dis urbing. Why? Well, when Akane answers, "I don't know, I guess..." it implies, at least to me, that she's being a little wishy-washy. I am a fervent believer that Ranma and Akane are meant for each other and that they are faithfully and unwaveringly devoted to e ch other (though they don't realize it sometimes). So, even though you have made it clear that Akane answered him that way because she felt a bit sorry for him, which I'm sure is correct, is that what Shinnosuke and Akane actually say in Japanese or is the vid correct in it's translation. I agree that Ranma and Akane are a perfect couple. They come from the same background (martial arts families), and since the "You're Cute When You Smile" episode have had a psychic bond that has each helping the other with their problems The love is there, even when they bicker, since the usually quarrel over the other's apparent interest in another. But the other couples? Not Ryoga and Ukyo. He's a drifter while she's become a career woman with her own business. If they married, she'd e pect him to help around the restaurant. And Ryoga would end up in Kyoto's Pool of the Devils while trying to find the kitchen. And certainly not Kuno and Nabiki. Neither would put up with a partner who worships him/herself more than the other. Besides, Na iki wouldn't put up with her sister-in-law in such a marriage. Maybe Shampoo and Mousse, provided Mousse finds that Lifetime love pill and stuffs in down her throat. I hope he does. They could have a sons named Minoxidil and Peruke. |

Though this may be very true, they both drop hundreds of hints each to each other, showing how they feel. When Akane cooks, he doesn't give a flying rats ass when everyone else cowers, she just cares if Ranma'll eat it, since it was cooked for him and him only. And who do ya think is always there, rescuing Akane when she's in trouble, and always showing for a brief moment that he likes her, but he has to keep his reputation (or some other goddamn lame excuse) so he spoils the moment with some comment that gets Akane pissed at him again. So, I enjoy the fact that you have realized that the 2 were meant for each other (an over used expression, if ya ask me). Though I'd also feel that every other matchup in this page other than that is pretty, well... stupid. Ukyo & Ryoga? Like hell they're a couple! And Nabiki & Kuno? Sure, he's rich, but it's not like Nabiki likes him like that. What about Shampoo & Mousse? Since when have you heard anything about Mousse's relationship with Shampoo from Mousse himself that wasn't about her rejecting him or him trying to catch Shampoo's heart (which is as hopeless, if not moreso, than Shampoo's foolish pusruit of Ranma)? I have gained no proof of the relationships other than Ranma & Akane's being true or even remotely true, plus there is no real reason why a yone thought these up, rather than their own desire for the couple to exist and their reason for it is probably just putting fave characters together. If you have any mail for me (hate mail about the criticism of the mathups other than Ranma and Akane, pr bably) go ahead and mail it, but try to keep reason in mind while making your opinion known, I don't care much for mail from people who can't reason past calling me stupid. And I'm sure there's some reasons out there that I overlooked, so just find them a d make me see the error of my ways without making yourself known to me as a moron, in which case I shall ignore your message and go on to a smart person's email. I have read a great deal of the manga and have come to the conclusion that most Ranma and Akane pairups would end in a mutually abusive relationship. Ranma-Ukyou or Ranma-Shampoo would be a far better match. Plus, your reasons against these are flimsier than balsa wood. For Ukyou: 1. it is NOT INCEST, 2. Ranma does think of her as a woman, and 3. they get along MUCH better than Ranma + Akane. Ranma even says to Ukyou "I could take care of you forever" (getting a jar to the head from Akane for that! Shampoo: Ranma is an OUTSIDER which is what they want, so she is a cat but she can be cured, Shampoo is very honest about her feelings to Ranma unlike Akane. Akane in my opinion is near the bottom of my list. With how she vehemently detests Ranma I would go far as to say that she don't like ANY guy. Just my opinions make what you will. |
