Battle System

Battle System:
I don't know too much about the battle system in FF8 yet. One thing that seems evident, is that once again your battle party will consist of three members, like FF7, I guess. One interesting factor is Squalls weapon, the Gunblade. It looks like a gun in some ways, and a sword in others. Squall doesn't shoot the Gunblade like a gun though, what happens is, if the trigger is pulled on the Gunblade right when the blade strikes the energy the damage caused will be doubled! I also heard from another site that Monster Ranching is available and you can make monsters part of your party and they will gain experience and everything along with your characters. Sounds interesting. Also, only people who graduate from the "garden", a oddly shaped building where children of 6 to nineteen years old attend. Only people who graduate from this private school can use magic, normal people in the world of FF8 can't, but I think one or more people you meat along the way might, in my opinion.
New Commands:
Their are also a few new commands added to the battle. One that sounds VERY promising is called "Gaurdian", it sounds very much like the monster ranching. You can actually "summon" one of several monsters to help, and best of all they gain experience with your party.
The second feature is called the "Draw" command. Using this you can actually take magic from the monsters you're fighting. Much like the enemy skills from FF7 I'm guessing, except its quite different. After you "draw" magic, you choose whether to use it or save it. If you use it, it can be used once, but in the same battle you're in. If you save it you can use it in later battles.
