Rays of Darkness
Chapter 1

The planet known as the X, or Xenen, or perhaps simply unnamed. The large vast lands of the dark side looked forever cold and barren, however much did that of the light, like every other once beautiful shining gem in the Milky Way galaxy, this planet had too been destroyed by an insurmountable force of evil. The Nega Verse had swept the planet and destroyed all that was alive, and all that was good. Buildings stand like old testaments to the fact that life once existed. A lavish palace on the light side of the planet glitters like gold forgotten and long since abandoned by any who would claim its throne. This was not how it always was this was the end of a long illustrious life of the planet.

Princess Sari of Seerees was making a routine stop at the planet Xenen, because of the fact that it had dual membership in both the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxy, her parents wanted to make sure that she befriended the young royals on the planet. She didn’t mind Nicole and Alex, but she wasn’t rather fond of their bickering. She could understand it however, besides, it was nice getting away from Seerees once and awhile, what was even better is that she got to bring along some friends.

"Hey, hey! Cut that out!" Princess Lissista yelled at her older sister Carina, the two were from Nevala, and were always fighting.

Colleta the Princess from the planet Cirruses and was quietly sitting off in the corner, she didn’t like to fly all that much, especially on the interstellar transports. Mirin, the Prince from Quatis had given up making fun of her, as that was only getting him a good beating. Celestia so named because she was the first and only princess of the house of the war planet Celeste was eagerly watching outside the window, her and the Princess Nicole were good friends, they seemed to share the same dark sense of humor. Tarina from Volsus however was engrossed in some book that she was now working on finishing.

All of the Royals knew that this could very well be the last time they saw their friends on the planet Xenen for awhile because its irregular orbit would then slingshot it back into the Milky Way galaxy and it would remain over there for quite some time.

"I told you to not touch me, and stay away from me, If you don’t recall I don’t like you!" A young girl screamed across a vast hall. Her bright blue eyes shone in what little light filtered in through the windows. Her black hair was soft like raven feathers and light played over its glossy surface.

"Listen, I don’t want to be on THIS side of the planet any longer that I have too, if you could just drop your attitude for maybe a second and a half we could enjoy the visit from the royals from the Draconian League a little bit more!" The boy had blond hair that looked like pure spun gold, his eyes too held the same shimmery blue as that of the girl’s.

"Just leave me alone, I am going to go off by myself now, and you can just go somewhere else for all I care maybe back to your precious light side."

The planet Xenen had long since been divided into two sections, a light side and a dark side. Because of its irregular orbit the planet’s orbit around its Nexus was off of the same plane as that of any of the other planets, much like Pluto’s only far more exaggerated. This coupled with its odd rotation kept the light side of the planet forever in the sun, and the dark side, forever in desolation.

"Why don’t you two both shut up!" Both of the young royals whipped around to notice the other girl standing there. Her name was Refla, and neither liked her, she was the daughter of some pompous duke who constantly betrayed one side for the other. He always insisted that Refla be around when the young royals from the Draconian League stopped by, and what irritated him most was their constant denial of Refla’s right to a throne. The girl was just as arrogant and irritating as her father and hating her was about the only thing Alex and Nicole ever agreed on.

Colleta held her head as she got out of the transport onto the cold and barren ground of the Dark side of the planet. The sun’s rays from the Andromeda system couldn’t reach out this far to illuminate the dark side for even the amount of time that it remained in the system. "I absolutely hate flying!" She groused. "If it wasn’t for the fact that we were here to see Nicole and Alex, I wouldn’t be here!!

"Do you think we might get a chance to see the Lord of Light and Sailor Darkness while we’re out here?" Celeste asked. She was always intrigued with the two defenders of the planet. All the planets in the Milky Way had long since had defenders, and in the Galactic meetings Celeste remembers seeing them and Senshi from other planets as well, it always plagued her as to why the Andromeda galaxy had none.

"Probably not, they don’t tend to show up very often." Sari said, her voice was soft and airy very princess like.

"It good that you finally arrived!" The archduke of Prismata on the light side of the planet came up to them. He had a rat like face and black hair that seemed to stick out at all angles.

Carina groaned, she knew that his little brat Refla was around here somewhere.

"Archduke, how nice to see you." Sari feigned with a Royal ability.

"Ah, Princess, I do hope you come bearing documents that will allow my daughter a throne."

"You know you have to take that up with the council!" Celeste spat. Her parents had always complained in front of her about the Archduke and his pushiness, as well as the tendency of Sari’s parents to fold under pressure, and she wouldn’t allow him to intimidate her friend.

"Well, well, you are rather feisty aren’t you, guess that comes from breeding." He replied rather snidely and turned to go with a flourish of his silver lined cape.

"So, shall we go into the main hall?" Mirin suggested of the girls and gestured with his arm.

"Princess Nicole, Prince Alex, so nice to see you!!" Sari smiled and the two servants who walked beside her handed each of them a gift wrapped in beautiful paper and lavish ribbon.

Nicole put her gift down and ran over to give Sari a hug. "We are so glad you are here!" She then moved on to Lissista, who younger than the other Draconian royals, was more Nicole’s age.

"So very nice to see you again Prince Alex." Mirin shook the young man’s hand.

"So are you going to tell us all about what’s been going on at the councils, I am sure you all have great stories since we last saw you." Alex smiled brightly at the thought of all the stories the others would have.

"Alex, we can wait for that, I am going to show the girls to their rooms."

"Fine Nicole, but I am going to go talk with Mirin."

Nicole spun away from Alex in a huff. "Oh yes, please follow me." She quickly changed moods to usher the girls down a hall.

"You two don’t get along but I am sure you like eachother just the same. I fight the same way with Colleta but we really do like eachother." Mirin said to Alex once the girls were out of earshot.

"No, its something much deeper than just bickering, Mirin, I think she really does hate me. And since she does, that doesn’t make me to fond of her either."

Mirin chuckled, "Well, so anyway do you want to hear about the Phoenix migration on Quatis this year, they just about burned up the entire food supply."

The two Noblemen walked down a hall in the opposite direction the girls had gone. When their footsteps had become only mere soft pattering echoes a large silver drapery stirred and out stepped Duchess Refla. Her red lips turned up into an evil smile, and she ran a hand through her long black hair. She was going to have to do more spying and snooping if she was going to find a way to become Queen of this planet.
