1.- Is there anything of Minky Momo available in English?

TV Series. Minky Momo was broadcasted in Israel dubbed in English, but I haven't heard of anyone reporting that it was in sale.

OVAs. The movie "Yume no naka no rondo" was dubbed and adapted by Harmony Gold and it was released by them in USA as "The Magical Princess Gigi" or "Gigi and the fountain of youth" and it's the only commercial release of Minky Momo in English. Some time ago it was available at Amazon, but it seems that it's out of print by now. There are fansubs in English of the two OVAs of Minky Momo, but I don't know where to get them.

2.- Where can I get something of Minky Momo?

Maybe you would like to check at the site Diamante mágico (check into the links section), they list in the general information section advices to get stuff about Minky Momo.

The DVD sets with the first TV series are available at CD Japan in http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ It's a japanese store, but their web site is available in both Japanese and English. Their service is very good. Be warned, however, that the DVD boxes are a Japanese release and therefore, the discs are coded as region 2, and they are in Japanese only, they don't have any subtitles.

A double CD album was released on June 1999 with the compilation of three albums of Minky Momo: "Someday my prince will come" (the best songs of the first TV series), "I'll see you in my dreams" (audio drama in Japanese) and the soudtrack of the movie "Yume no naka no rondo" (mostly instrumental music). This CD is also available in CD Japan.

3.- I've seen this CD album in a store near to me. Is it any good?
If you mean the double CD album I just told you about in the above question, yes, it has very good music if you like the TV series. Let me know if you want more details.

4.- How did the name "Minky Momo" changed into "Gigi"?
You got me there! I have no idea, but I think that the origin could be in the dubbing of the TV series in France. According to the dates of broadcasting, it seems that the first country outside Japan where Minky Momo was broadcasted was France, so I guess that they changed the name "Minky Momo" to "Gigi".
