and it's a term used to refer to the animation produced for direct sales
to the public, without being previously showed at cinemas or TV. Due to
the success of Minky Momo in Japan, it's no wonder that something else
had been released after the end of the TV series.

This OVA was released in EUA as "Gigi and the fountain of
youth" or simply "The fairy princess Gigi". Actually
it's not an OVA, since it was premiered at Japanese theaters.
Release in English.
It was released on VHS format by Harmony Gold in 1987 as Gigi
and the fountain of youth and re-released on the UK in 1994
as The Magical Princess Gigi.
