Intro:
This is a Silver Millenium story like many other fanfics that have been written by many other people, except that instead this story is from the point of view of a Youma that Naoko never wrote about... and some of the characters that she did write about are... well... a bit different. Yes, they still all look the same and have the same names. They just happen to either appear "out of context" or their personalities are a bit "changed". If you're wondering how and why, read the following character list! Warning: There are serious !!
Alexandrite: This is the main character, the Youma that the story is seen through, in third person style. She begins the story as a three year old child who is taken with her father, Malachite, to be a warrior for the Dark Kingdom. She ages fairly quickly with help from Metallia's power until she is a teenage warrior, ready for battle. "Alex" (her nickname) is a sort of "Dark Serenity" (thanks fer the idea John-Endy ^_~), the opposite version of (Princess) Serenity. She even resembles Serenity in slight ways, her gold hair is darker and catches shadows, and her eyes aren't always blue, but her heart warms when things are cold around her.
Jacinth: Jacinth appears in the second chapter of the story. He is a secondary heir to the Dark Moon, Nemesis; the son of Saffiru (the younger of the two princes) and Petz (the second eldest of the Akayashi). Jacinth resembles his uncle, the ruler of Nemesis, except that his hair is black and only streaked with the pure silver white that Demando has, and his eyes are a gold-brown. When he first is introduced in the story, he is only about seven years old, but eventually becomes fifteen, like Alexandrite, to protect her from his uncle's intentions...
Malachite: Malachite has a generally small part in this story except as a foreshadower and an overall menace to Alex. Because of his role however, he counts as a main character.
Zoisite: Zoisite has a slightly larger part in the story than Malachite. He is Alexandrite's best friend, if not her only one, while she grows up and guards her from the evils that plot against her.
Demando: The ruler of Nemesis is a person used to getting his way, and when the little ten year old brat with gold hair turns him away with a glare he commands her father to make her older, but even then she turns him down and despises him. Demando is present in the story from the second chapter on, and from page one of that chapter on he refuses to take no as an answer from Alexandrite, even when she threatens him with attacks and his own nephew has him all but banished from the Dark Kingdom...
Saffiru: Demando's younger brother is wise, but cannot go against him even when it is made obvious that the selfish prince has gone too far, he has to hope that his son will do that for him and not be killed. Saffiru is present in the story only in the fifth chapter, but he plays a slightly major role in that chapter.
Akayashi Sisters:The four sisters become Alexandrite's friends in the fifth chapter, keeping watch over her while she is captive under Demando (not literally!!! =P). They teach her how to blend in and guard her from Demando's attentions.
Jedite: Jedite is a slightly minor character in the story, just there to show how much of a brat Alex is as a child. He's her punching bag when she's angry and because of Alex's father, Jedite gets punched a lot. He only appears in chapter one and is occasionally mentioned or "cameoed" in further chapters.
Rubius:In the manga, Rubius is the first to be suspicious of Wiseman, in the Anime, he's the first to die... (dun ask... it was Toei's idea. not Naoko's) But in chapter five of this story, he's just a minor person who serves as a punching bag for Alex on Nemesis and recieves the worst of her sarcasm the instant they meet.
Beryl: Beryl is the ruler of the Dark Kingdom, and even though she took Alex with Malachite, she doesn't like the child at all. Beryl constantly calls Alex an immature brat that needs more training, even though the girl shows promise as one of the more powerful warriors, being able to blast a large hole clean through a wall when she's only seven. Beryl plots against Alex, planning to hoist her off on the first "suitor" that comes for her...
Metallia: Metallia is the "negaforce" (*wince*, I hate that term ~_~) that keeps the Dark Kingdom ruthless and Queen Beryl bloodthirsty for revenge against the moon. Alex runs into her in the second chapter and she's mentioned in the third, sixth, and last. The force seems to accept Alex around her, at least she doesn't tell Beryl when the child spies on her. But in the fifth chapter, she's revealed to have told Beryl to "get rid of" the teenager because of a legend about her.
Topaz: Topaz is Beryl's daughter (the father isn't exactly known... but it's rumored to be Malachite), she's mentioned in the fifth chapter as simply the daughter of Beryl, but in the companion tale: Jacinth's Story (written by my boyfriend) she appears for a brief instant. She's an important character in this story because, with her in the Dark Kingdom, there's no need for Alex... read the story and you'll understand.
Aino Minako
(Sailor V{enus}): (I
know it seems odd that a senshi would appear in the character list of a
DK story, but bear with me here....) Minako Aino, the princess and head
senshi of Venus, was rumored to have "been with" the Earth Lord, Malachite
(Kunzite) in Naoko's manga. Alexandrite runs into her people in chapter
six and the princess herself in the battle of the final chapter, and learns
the truth that her father never told her... her mother is alive, and on
the other side!
Remember the "gaps" in the chapters (aka What the hell was Jacinth doing/thinking)? Well those are completed in these chapters:
Jacinth's Story
by Marcus/Jace
(Note: The Akayashi are called by their NA names in this story because Marcus likes them better... O.o;)
Chapter four(basically a repeat of DP's 4th chapter ^_^() but if you wanna read it again.....)
