Now that that's taken care of.... the important stuff (I mean besides the actual story!)
Character list: (click the name for a link to a picture of that person) Because there are so many characters and most of them are well known, I'll only list the newbies or the characters I've changed against Naoko's story. There are a few spoliers here... so be careful...
Alexandrite:The
somewhat main character, and the person who the story is seen through,
even though it is written in third person perspective. Dark Princess, the
prequel to this story, is pretty much all about her and Jacinth. "Alex"
is a bitch in all meanings of the word, it comes from being the seed planted
by cold cruel Malachite (Kunzite in Japan ¬¬), despite who her
mother is (secret alert!). But her heart has the worst timing of kicking
in and putting her conscience to work and her curiousity rivals the youngest
human child. Her gold hair catches as many shadows as it bounces off rays
of light, and her eyes have as much upredictability as she does, but are
for the most part, facets of crystals that reflect her mood. Most of her
is crystal-like and her main power is tied to crystal usage, including
her nearly unique ability to steal and copy the power of anyone she chooses...
with a dangerous twist.
Jacinth:
Jacinth
is from the Dark Moon and by all respects should be Alex's worst enemy
because of his family (see Saffiru), but Alex doesn't have it in her heart
to hurt him. It's not an easy desicion, since he looks a lot like the person
she despises instinctively, with only his black hair with silver streaks,
golden brown eyes and warm smile really making it obvious that he is not
his uncle. Jacinth is closer to 16 than 15, just barely older than Alex,
but not any more sarcastic.
Zoisite:Alex
has only a few confidants in the dangerous world of the Dark Kingdom, and
"Zoi-chan" is one of them, a big brother and in some cases, a mother-figure
where her father is absent in his paternal duties. Anyone familiar with
Sailor Moon will know who this guy (or girl in NA's case) is, but those
of you who are more clueless than Minako (sorry Sailorvenus fans ^_^;;)
here is a quick overview of him/her: S/He's the lover of Malachite (gasp,
a male girlfriend!! Get over it America, Japan's just looser about homos
than we are ^_^) and a guy-girl who gets jealous and power hungry for Beryl's
attentions, according to Naoko's manga/Anime... but in this story S/He's
a nicer person, and cares more about Alex's safety and above all, her sanity.
(you'll see, just read the story ^_~).
Malachite:
The
manga fans know about Malachite (Kunzite) "being with" someone during the
Silver Millenium... that person will not be mentioned because it's a major
giveaway of the plot. It's already been spoiled by the fact that it's mentioned
in the manga (I'm not sure about the Mixxzine version... I've only read
about two and a half of them). This relationship results in a little three
year old girl being taken with him to join the Dark Kingdom (read the first
chapter of the Dark Princess, it doesn't give away much), that girl is
Alexandrite, who was aged to fifteen before the battle and destroyed in
it with the other Youma and sent back to the Dark Kingdom to await the
inevitable "break-out". Malachite is a bad father, ignoring Alexandrite
and is never satisfied with her best work. (Hmm... maybe I haven't changed
him that much in this story compared to Naoko's... ¬¬)
Demando:
An
the manga and Anime, Prince Demando of Nemesis is just a young man who
doesn't know the true meaning of love until his last breath, sacrificing
himself to save Usagi-chan (sorry if I just ruined the whole R series for
any fans!) and is blind to the destruction he causes in his efforts to
gain a heart that cannot be his. In this story, he's a total opposite (...
and now the hate mail from his fans is gonna POUR in... oh well
^_^;;), he knows what love is, but he doesn't seem to want it. He's possesive
and makes a claim to Alexandrite for her body and power, and will do anything
to get her. They've had a feud since they first met, when she was only
ten years old (he was older than twenty... do the math -_-) that carries
on into their next life, but first Alex has to remember about it...
Akayashi
Sisters:
The four "uncanny" sisters (In order of age: Kalaberas(Avery), Beruche(Berdi),
Petz(Prizma), and Cooan(Catseye/Katsy) are aged slightly different than
Naoko had them, instead of all being in their twenies, the eldest two are
mid to late thirties. The reason for this is that Petz has a son that should
be about nine or ten (see Saffiru). Kalaberas and Beruche are 25 and 28.
The sisters were friends with Alexandrite during her stay on Nemesis (Demando's
possessive problem's first strike, see chapter five of Dark Princess if
you want the whole story) and run into her at least a few times now. Other
than age, they really haven't changed, except they don't fall all over
Rubius.
Saffiru:
Demando's
little brother has two stories from Naoko. In the Anime he's against Demando's
plan nearly from the start, and suspects the Wiseman's loyalty. In the
manga, he's on Demando's side and even goes as far as to say the Senshi
must be killed. In this story he gets another personality yet again: He
has a strong enough loyalty to his bother that hewon't openly defy him,
but he sulks and scolds Demando's wrongdoings when the older brother isn't
around. There are some occasions when he'll openly state that the crowned
prince is wrong, but then he does nothing about it unless there's away
to do it without getting others in trouble. Saffiru and Petz have a son
in this story: Jacinth.
Beryl:
Queen
Beryl is only a little more of a bitch than Alexandrite in this story.
She hated the girl in her first life (see Dark Princess), but begins to
accept her as the girl becomes colder and evil.
Topaz: Topaz is Beryl's daughter, her father is rumored to be Malachite, whch would make her Alex's half-sister. They don't exactly behave as sisters should, however, because they are both princesses and since Alex came first, she would get the throne if anything happened to Beryl, which causes a serious rivalry between them.
Metallia: Metallia is the "goddess" that Beryl follows. She keeps the Dark Kingdom's Youma shaking in fear and murmuring any problems, if they mention them at all. Only Alex dares to yell outright about things, the only thing that's followed her from her her last life. Surprisingly, she generally gets away with it...
Aino
Minako (Sailor V{enus}): There
is a special reason why this senshi is the only on on the charactr list.
The princess/headsenshi of Venus has a special part in this story, but
that cannot be told here or it would ruin the story.
