Welcome to my Eva StarCarft map page! Here is a brief overview of the map, plus some tips and a place for you to download it from! The new version has been released!
Changed the 11th Angel (Got heaps of complaints about that one)
Added the launch facilites to the tour at the start
Toned down the number of enemies at the end
Lots of other little niggly things
You will probably realise that the name of the author is 'Darkwolf', which is infact my other name. I can't very well use BliZZarD as a nick for StarCraft now can I? :) Here is a image of the map. (I'm really hoping to make a better image sometime)
Basically, you have to prevent NERV HQ from being destroyed by the Angels, which appear in the upper left-hand corner of the map. The Angels are ultra-hard enemy units which attack singulary, and get harder and harder as the game progresses. In Tokyo 3's defence are the UN forces, and the ultra-hard Evangelion Unit 02. (sorry those who hate Asuka :])
Nerv Headquaters
Eva Unit 02
You get alot of money at the start, and after each Angel is defeated, you get more money depending on how well you went. If Eva 02 is destroyed, you get less money as the committee has to contrust another one.
All of the units names have been changed to something relevant with Eva. Also, it takes alot less time to contruct a unit than it used to, but this is because they are quite weak.
Researching upgrades has been changed. It now costs alot more money to, but each of your units is upgraded alot more. For example, each time you upgrade your ground units weapons, UN Seige Tanks' seige cannon is upgraded by 10.
Eva Unit 02 is really a hard goliath. It was the closest thing to an Eva I swear! :) Because of this, its ground attack leaves much to be desired, but it is really good against flying Angels such as the 4th and the 12th. If it gets destroyed, you must kill the Angel before you have the chance to get it back. Once the Angel is defeated, Asuka will pop up, shout something in Japanese, and wait for instructions. I know it might be fun to take on an Angel with Asuka, but she is really a crap unit. Anyway, once she appears, guide her to NERV HQ, and the little teleporter there, called 'The Cage'. When she steps onto it Eva 02 will appear! This is accompanied by Misato saying Eva Launch! in Japanese.
Asuka
The Cage
Teleporters in this map need a bit of explanation. Basically, the teleports can only be used by Eva 02. When it steps on a teleport, it will appear outside another teleport with the same colour somewhere else on the map. The teleport in NERV HQ is not a teleport, but the place you guide Asuka to.
The Northern Teleport
Tips
Don't rely on Eva 02 too much! Without the help of support units, Unit 02 is toast!
That said, don't rely on the support units either! They are weak and puny compared to the might of the Angels, and are there only as a distraction.
Upgrade your units constantly. You must keep up with the ever-increasing power of the Angels.
Try to keep Eva 02 alive at all times. This means fighting the Angels near teleporters so that when Eva 02 is badly damaged, you can teleport it away to be repaired by SCV's whilst your support units are keeping it distracted.
Most Angels come from the top left corner, but a few do appear in other places. Try and defend the bottlenecks as much as possible. Flying units can skirt the bottlenecks, but Eva 02 can cut them down with ease.
As in the original game of StarCraft, each unit has a weakness. That too can be said of the Angels. If there is an Angel that you can't defeat, think about what it's weakness is and exploit it. For example, the 5th Angel can't attack air units, so sending air units against it would be your best bet, but they would take a long time to destroy it.
Whatever you do, don't give up! It IS finishable without cheats.
Make sure use map settings is turned on!! :)
Please, tell me what you think of it either at my guestbook or e-mail. You must have Starcraft version 1.05 or higher to play. It is easier to play with Brood Wars.
