"I was only doing it to help you feel better Zel-kun" Lina stiffened as she heard these words.
"No." she breathed. "Zelgadis and Xellos....... no" Lina was standing on the other side of the swinging door that lead to the kitchen with a 'small' snack in her hands
"Goodbye Zel-kun" Xellos whispered. Unbidden, the food fell from Lina's limp hands and crashed to the floor. But Lina didn't notice it, nor the tears that filled her ruby eyes. "He...... he........" Lina felt her heart shatter into a thousand pieces. She had lost him, to Xellos. She had lost her love, her soulmate.

"NNOOOO!" Lina screamed as she ran from the inn they where staying at. She barreled past Zel and ran outside. All she knew was that she had to get away.... she had to get away from him!
"Lina!" Zelgadis cried after her, but she ran as fast as she could, and her desperation added wings to her feet. Lina ran, and, ran until finally she collapsed on the ground utterly spent. She lay there heaving great heart retching sobs

"Lina!" Zel cried as he watched her flee; but she ignored him. "What happened to her...... so help me, if Gourry did something to her I swear!" Zelgadis stormed back into the inn and up to Gourry's room."Gourry open up!" There was no answer. "Damn you open up!" Zelgadis' hands clentched into fists.
Finnaly he blasted the door off it's hinges, and the sight before his eyes shocked the living hell out of him. Even in his angered and rathfull state, he blushed crimson at the sight of Sylphial laying asleep in Gourry's arms........naked

"You bastard!" Zelgadis snarled as he crossed the room two strides.
"Zel, what's the matter?" Gourry asked clueless as he stared up at the enraged chimera. Sylphial tried her best to hide under the sheets in mortification. Zel grabd Gourry by the neck and lifted him clear off the bed.
"How could you do that to Lina?' Zel snarled. "She loves you!"
"Love Lina?" Gourry asked confused. "I don't love Lina, not like that." Gourry gestures at Sylphial. "I love her, not Lina, are you crazy, she'd kill me!" All the anger drained form Zels face and he losended his grip on Gourry's neck. The blond swordsman fell back to the bed massaging his neck.
"Gourry dear, are you okay?" Sylphial asked concerned as she peered at her lover.
"I'm fine Sylph-chan." Gourry murmured.
"If you and Lina aren't together, then why did she run away, I though she saw the two of you together."
"No way, Lina loves you, not me. Maybe you upset her?" Gourry said in a very rare moment on insight. Oh no. Zel thought silently. She didn't hear......
Zelgadis whirled around and ran from the room. He crashed down the stairs and pushed people out of his wya as he ran out of the inn.
"Lina!" Zel screamed, but she wasn't there. Zel called forth Ray Wind and went to look for Lina

Lina looked down at the small clear vile in her hands, is was a strong sleep potion that she used when she couldn't sleep. When all she thought about was Him. But it was so potent, she had to dilute it, otherwise, it would slow down her resperation and heartbeat until she slipped into a coma and died. Lina pulled the cape off of the vile and downed the contents.
"I just want to fall asleep, and never wake up. Maybe in my dreams he'll leave me alone?" Lina sobbed as she felt the lethargy creep over her. She lay down and relaxed.
"Oh Gods Lina! What have you done?" Zel cried as he landed next to her. He fell to his knees and grabbed the vile form her hands. He sniffed it, and his heart turned to stone. "Lina why? Why did you do this. Don't you see, you can't die, I need you, I.... love you." Lina glared at him.
"No you don't." she muttered weakly. "I heard him.... you slept with him last night."
"He tricked me!" Zel cried. "I.....I thought he was you, and I......" Zel's shame rose up like the bile in the back of his throat."I lve you Lina. Please, belive me"
