Note: The angsty poem was written by ME last night while I was coming down from my sugar high, that is why it is so depressing. Its title is "Living, Yet Dying" Bad ne?

Chapter Ten

I was lost in eternal darkness, and suddenly you appeared.
A blessed pillar of light, and just as suddenly, disappeared

Zelgaids' stone hand crushed down on Khirah's hand

What am I to do? Can I follow you where you go?
Or should I stay here, and let you find your own path?

"Khirah you can't leave me, please." The Chimra begged. Zelas stared down at where her niece's body lay.

What my life be like without you?
Could I even survive? Would I want to?

"No! L-sama please don't let it end like this!" the Beastmaster cried. Her blond hair hung limp around her shoulders. Xellos gently took Khirah's other hand. "Khirah-chan you can't leave Zelgadis, he needs you."

Please don't leave me alone like this.
Not after everything we have been through.

Zelgadis hung his head and tried to grasp hold of Khirah's spirit. He knew that such a thing could kill him, or even worse. Trap him in the Astral Plane forever, but it was better then losing Khirah.

How can you abandon me to face the world alone?
How can I live without you there when I need a helping hand?

"Khirah if you can hear me, don't leave please don't" Zel whispered in Khirah's ear. "You are more important then even my 'Cure'. PLease I would give anything up, if only you would stay here with me. Please!"

Stay here with me, there is so much moreto be done.
Without you, I am not completle, I never have been

Zellas hung her hand and looked over where Dynast lay dying alone in the mud. And even as the light flckered out of his eyes, undying hatred still burned there like maddness. Zelgadis clentched his hand into fists.
"Damn you Khirah don't you dare leave me!"

I won't let you leave me! Not here, not now!
You and I were meant to live out our lives together.

Brannon looked down at Khirah with haunted eyes.
"Khirah my only friend, stay with us, fight the Darkness, come back to us."

You brought a love into my life I never thought was possible
And now that you are gone, i am more desolate then ever

Suddenly, the jewel aroung Khirah's neck glowed like sapphire fire. Brannon reached down and snatche dit form her neck.
"Quickly get me something to break this with! Zelgadis give me your sword" he shouted. Zelgaids looked up at the Mazuko numbly but Zela and Xellos understood Brannon's intentions and they tossed Brannon the sword

Fight them! don't let them win this battle.
Don't let them drive us apart once more!

Brannon, Zelas, and Xellos tried to shatter the stone, but they couldn't even scratch it. While the trio were trying to break the stone, Zelgadis was shock to notice that etars were runing down his cheeks.

You have shown me what living is trully like,
And now that I have had a taste of it, I want more.

"In Life and Death you and I will be together till the ends of time." Zelgadis whispered as a crystaline tear spilled down his stone cheeks and fell onto Khirah's cheek, shattering on impact

Can't you hear me crying you name?
Can't you feel my tears upon your face?

Zelas gasped at the crytal in her hands shattered and the silvery drop of water flew through the air in landed upon Khirah's cheek where it had been cut by Zle's crytal tear. The silver liquid mixed with her blood and suddenly the flow of blood stopped.

But you have left me, and I never got to say,
How much you meant to me.

"Zelgadis what did you do?" Xellos asked unnerved. A translucen figure hovered over Khirah unconcious body.
"He repeated the promise that I made to my dear Shannon so many centurues ago. And in doing so, he has freed me. Thank you my firends."
"Who are you?" Zellas asked The young man who stood before then had bright blond hair and warm shining green eyes.
"My name is Liam. Thank you for freeing my and allowing me to go to my Shannon now. Thank you again." The youth slowly dissapated liek mist and as then gone.

Don't worry my love,
I will soon be with you

. "What is every body staring at?" Khirah's annoyed voice broke through their reverie.
"Khirah!" Zelgadis cried as he hugged Khirah to his chest fiercly. "Don't ever leave me again. Promise me." Zelgaids grasped Khirah's shoulders in a tight grip and stared solemnly into ehr eyes. "Swear it."
"I swear it." Khirah whispered. Zelgadis buried his face in Khirah's fragrant charcol gray hair.
"I love you." he whispered in her ear every so softly. Khirah jerked back in shock and stared at him.
"Do you mean it, even after all I said to you?"
"Of course baka!" Zel laughed and kissed her resoundingly. Zelas, Xellos and Brannon swiftly left after that, and lfet the two to discover their new precious bond called love.
