Mitsuki Katsuragi is Salsa's first owner, and has a very special place in Salsa's heart. Salsa's ability to talk has scared away many potential owners, and people called him a monster, causing Salsa to feel like a social reject and a nature freak. Mitsuki, a kind-hearted young man, manages to gain Salsa's trust. It was he who gave Salsa his name (while listening to some Salsa music on the radio...) and taught Salsa many things about what is right and wrong.

Salsa just adores him ^_^

Mitsuki has a half-brother Shido, a loner whom not even his parents liked. The only person who cared about Shido was Mitsuki, and Shido becomes very fond of Mitsuki. Shido eventually finds out that Salsa is a Wild Half, and is ever wary of the Wild Half dog; Shido knows that Wild Halves have the potential to become were-dogs, and eat the owner to gain power. Shido is certain that that's the reason why Salsa is so chummy with Mitsuki, and understandably hates Salsa's guts.

Shido is so desperate to protect Mitsuki that he plots to kill the dog, only to have the plan backfire and kill Mitsuki instead. However, Mitsuki knows that Shido only did it for his sake, and with his last dying breath, tells Salsa not to reveal to Shido that Shido himself killed Mitsuki - it would destroy Shido.
